DRB ¹ Et il fit pour lui des maisons dans la ville de David, et prépara un lieu pour l'arche de Dieu, et tendit une tente pour elle.

KJV ¹ And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

DRB ² Alors David dit : Il ne convient pas que l'arche de Dieu soit portée par personne excepté les Lévites ; car l'Éternel les a choisis pour porter l'arche de Dieu et pour en faire le service à toujours.

KJV ² Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

DRB ³ Et David assembla tout Israël à Jérusalem, pour faire monter l'arche de l'Éternel au lieu qu'il lui avait préparé.

KJV ³ And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

DRB ¹¹ Et David appela Tsadok et Abiathar, les sacrificateurs, et les Lévites, Uriel, Asçaïa, et Joël, Shemahia, et Éliel, et Amminadab ;

KJV ¹¹ And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

DRB ¹² et il leur dit : Vous êtes les chefs des pères des Lévites ; sanctifiez-vous, vous et vos frères, et faites monter l'arche de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, au [lieu que] je lui ai préparé.

KJV ¹² And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

DRB ¹³ Car, parce que vous ne l'avez pas [fait] la première fois, l'Éternel, notre Dieu, a fait une brèche parmi nous ; car nous ne l'avons pas recherché conformément à l'ordonnance.

KJV ¹³ For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

DRB ¹⁴ Et les sacrificateurs et les Lévites se sanctifièrent pour faire monter l'arche de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël.

KJV ¹⁴ So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.

DRB ¹⁵ Et les fils des Lévites portèrent l'arche de Dieu sur leurs épaules, avec les barres sur eux, comme Moïse l'avait commandé, selon la parole de l'Éternel.

KJV ¹⁵ And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.

KJV ¹⁹ So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

KJV ²¹ And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

DRB ²² Et Kenania, le chef des Lévites pour la musique*, enseignait la musique* ; car il était intelligent.

KJV ²² And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

KJV ²³ And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

DRB ²⁴ Et Shebania, et Josaphat, et Nethaneël, et Amasçaï, et Zacharie, et Benaïa, et Éliézer, les sacrificateurs, sonnaient avec des trompettes devant l'arche de Dieu ; et Obed-Édom et Jekhija étaient portiers pour l'arche.

KJV ²⁴ And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obededom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
