DRB ¹⁷ Et il arriva, après ces choses, que le fils de la femme, maîtresse de la maison, tomba malade ; et sa maladie devint très forte, de sorte qu'il ne resta plus de souffle en lui.

KJV ¹⁷ And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

DRB ¹⁸ Et elle dit à Élie : Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, homme de Dieu ? Es-tu venu chez moi pour mettre en mémoire mon iniquité et faire mourir mon fils ?

KJV ¹⁸ And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

DRB ¹⁹ Et il lui dit : Donne-moi ton fils. Et il le prit de son sein, et le monta dans la chambre haute où il habitait, et le coucha sur son lit.

KJV ¹⁹ And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

VULC ¹⁹ Et ait ad eam Elias : Da mihi filium tuum. Tulitque eum de sinu ejus, et portavit in cœnaculum ubi ipse manebat, et posuit super lectulum suum.

DRB ²⁰ Et il cria à l'Éternel, et dit : Ô Éternel, mon Dieu ! as-tu aussi fait venir du mal sur la veuve chez laquelle je séjourne, en faisant mourir son fils ?

KJV ²⁰ And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

VULC ²⁰ Et clamavit ad Dominum, et dixit : Domine Deus meus, etiam ne viduam apud quam ego utcumque sustentor, afflixisti ut interficeres filium ejus ?

WLC ²⁰ וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑ר יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔י הֲ֠גַם עַל־ הָאַלְמָנָ֞ה אֲשֶׁר־ אֲנִ֨י מִתְגּוֹרֵ֥ר עִמָּ֛הּ הֲרֵע֖וֹתָ לְהָמִ֥ית אֶת־ בְּנָֽהּ׃

DRB ²¹ Et il s'étendit sur l'enfant, trois fois, et il cria à l'Éternel, et dit : Éternel, mon Dieu ! fais revenir, je te prie, l'âme de cet enfant au-dedans de lui.

KJV ²¹ And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.

VULC ²¹ Et expandit se, atque mensus est super puerum tribus vicibus, et clamavit ad Dominum, et ait : Domine Deus meus, revertatur, obsecro, anima pueri hujus in viscera ejus.

WLC ²¹ וַיִּתְמֹדֵ֤ד עַל־ הַיֶּ֙לֶד֙ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ פְּעָמִ֔ים וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑ר יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔י תָּ֥שָׁב נָ֛א נֶֽפֶשׁ־ הַיֶּ֥לֶד הַזֶּ֖ה עַל־ קִרְבּֽוֹ׃

DRB ²² Et l'Éternel écouta la voix d'Élie, et fit revenir l'âme de l'enfant au-dedans de lui, et il vécut.

KJV ²² And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

VULC ²² Et exaudivit Dominus vocem Eliæ : et reversa est anima pueri intra eum, et revixit.

WLC ²² וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע יְהוָ֖ה בְּק֣וֹל אֵלִיָּ֑הוּ וַתָּ֧שָׁב נֶֽפֶשׁ־ הַיֶּ֛לֶד עַל־ קִרְבּ֖וֹ וַיֶּֽחִי׃

DRB ²³ Et Élie prit l'enfant, et le descendit de la chambre haute dans la maison, et le donna à sa mère. Et Élie dit : Vois, ton fils vit.

KJV ²³ And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

VULC ²³ Tulitque Elias puerum, et deposuit eum de cœnaculo in inferiorem domum, et tradidit matri suæ, et ait illi : En vivit filius tuus.

DRB ²⁴ Et la femme dit à Élie : Maintenant, à cela je connais que tu es un homme de Dieu, et que la parole de l'Éternel dans ta bouche est la vérité.

KJV ²⁴ And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.

VULC ²⁴ Dixitque mulier ad Eliam : Nunc in isto cognovi quoniam vir Dei es tu, et verbum Domini in ore tuo verum est.
