⁵ Car ils ignorent volontairement ceci, que, par la parole de Dieu, des cieux subsistaient jadis, et une terre [tirée] des eaux* et subsistant au milieu des eaux*, ⁶ par lesquelles le monde d'alors fut détruit, étant submergé par de l'eau*. ⁷ Mais les cieux et la terre de maintenant sont réservés par sa parole pour le feu, gardés pour le jour du jugement et de la destruction des hommes impies.

⁵ For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: ⁶ Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: ⁷ But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
