BAN ¹ Mieux vaut bon renom que bon parfum, et le jour de la mort vaut mieux que le jour de la naissance.

BAN ² Mieux vaut aller à la maison de deuil que d'aller à la maison de festin, parce que là [on voit] la fin de tout homme et que le vivant y fait attention.

BAN ⁶ car tel le pétillement des épines sous la chaudière, tel le rire de l'insensé. Cela aussi est vanité.

KJV ⁶ For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.
