BAN ¹ La parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Eternel en ces mots :

KJV ¹ The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

VULC ¹ Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino, dicens :

WLC ¹ הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה אֶֽל־ יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

BAN ² Tiens-toi dans la porte de la maison de l'Eternel ; prononce là cette parole, et dis : Ecoutez la parole de l'Eternel, vous, tout Juda, qui entrez par ces portes pour adorer l'Eternel.

KJV ² Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.

VULC ² Sta in porta domus Domini, et prædica ibi verbum istud, et dic : [Audite verbum Domini, omnis Juda,
qui ingredimini per portas has ut adoretis Dominum.

WLC ² עֲמֹ֗ד בְּשַׁ֙עַר֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה וְקָרָ֣אתָ שָּׁ֔ם אֶת־ הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְאָמַרְתָּ֞ שִׁמְע֣וּ דְבַר־ יְהוָ֗ה כָּל־ יְהוּדָה֙ הַבָּאִים֙ בַּשְּׁעָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֖ת לַיהוָֽה׃

BAN ³ Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël : Réformez vos voies et vos actions, et je vous ferai habiter dans ce lieu ;

KJV ³ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

VULC ³ Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël :
Bonas facite vias vestras, et studia vestra,
et habitabo vobiscum in loco isto.

WLC ³ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הֵיטִ֥יבוּ דַרְכֵיכֶ֖ם וּמַֽעַלְלֵיכֶ֑ם וַאֲשַׁכְּנָ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֔ם בַּמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

BAN ⁴ ne vous fiez pas aux paroles de mensonge de ceux qui disent : C'est ici le temple de l'Eternel, le temple de l'Eternel, le temple de l'Eternel !

KJV ⁴ Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.

VULC ⁴ Nolite confidere in verbis mendacii, dicentes :
Templum Domini, templum Domini, templum Domini est !

WLC ⁴ אַל־ תִּבְטְח֣וּ לָכֶ֔ם אֶל־ דִּבְרֵ֥י הַשֶּׁ֖קֶר לֵאמֹ֑ר הֵיכַ֤ל יְהוָה֙ הֵיכַ֣ל יְהוָ֔ה הֵיכַ֥ל יְהוָ֖ה הֵֽמָּה׃

BAN ⁵ Car si vous réformez véritablement vos voies et vos actions, si vous jugez justement entre un homme et son prochain,

KJV ⁵ For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;

VULC ⁵ Quoniam si bene direxeritis vias vestras, et studia vestra ;
si feceritis judicium inter virum et proximum ejus ;

WLC ⁵ כִּ֤י אִם־ הֵיטֵיב֙ תֵּיטִ֔יבוּ אֶת־ דַּרְכֵיכֶ֖ם וְאֶת־ מַֽעַלְלֵיכֶ֑ם אִם־ עָשׂ֤וֹ תַֽעֲשׂוּ֙ מִשְׁפָּ֔ט בֵּ֥ין אִ֖ישׁ וּבֵ֥ין רֵעֵֽהוּ׃

BAN ⁶ si vous n'opprimez point l'étranger, l'orphelin et la veuve ; que vous ne répandiez pas le sang innocent dans ce lieu ; que vous n'alliez point après d'autres dieux pour votre malheur ;

KJV ⁶ If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:

VULC ⁶ advenæ, et pupillo, et viduæ non feceritis calumniam,
nec sanguinem innocentem effuderitis in loco hoc,
et post deos alienos non ambulaveritis in malum vobismetipsis :

WLC ⁶ גֵּ֣ר יָת֤וֹם וְאַלְמָנָה֙ לֹ֣א תַֽעֲשֹׁ֔קוּ וְדָ֣ם נָקִ֔י אַֽל־ תִּשְׁפְּכ֖וּ בַּמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וְאַחֲרֵ֨י אֱלֹהִ֧ים אֲחֵרִ֛ים לֹ֥א תֵלְכ֖וּ לְרַ֥ע לָכֶֽם׃

BAN ⁷ alors je vous ferai habiter dans ce lieu, au pays que j'ai donné à vos pères, d'éternité en éternité.

KJV ⁷ Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

VULC ⁷ habitabo vobiscum in loco isto,
in terra quam dedi patribus vestris a sæculo et usque in sæculum.

WLC ⁷ וְשִׁכַּנְתִּ֤י אֶתְכֶם֙ בַּמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה בָּאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם לְמִן־ עוֹלָ֖ם וְעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

BAN ⁸ Mais voici, vous vous fiez à des paroles de mensonge qui ne vous aident en rien.

KJV ⁸ Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

VULC ⁸ Ecce vos confiditis vobis in sermonibus mendacii,
qui non proderunt vobis :

WLC ⁸ הִנֵּ֤ה אַתֶּם֙ בֹּטְחִ֣ים לָכֶ֔ם עַל־ דִּבְרֵ֖י הַשָּׁ֑קֶר לְבִלְתִּ֖י הוֹעִֽיל׃

BAN ⁹ Quoi ! voler ! tuer ! commettre adultère ! juger faussement ! encenser Baal et aller après d'autres dieux que vous ne connaissez pas !...

KJV ⁹ Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;

VULC ⁹ furari, occidere, adulterari,
jurare mendaciter, libare Baalim,
et ire post deos alienos quos ignoratis :

WLC ⁹ הֲגָנֹ֤ב ׀ רָצֹ֙חַ֙ וְֽנָאֹ֔ף וְהִשָּׁבֵ֥עַ לַשֶּׁ֖קֶר וְקַטֵּ֣ר לַבָּ֑עַל וְהָלֹ֗ךְ אַחֲרֵ֛י אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־ יְדַעְתֶּֽם׃

BAN ¹⁰ et vous venez, vous vous présentez devant ma face dans cette maison sur laquelle mon nom a été invoqué, et vous dites : Nous échapperons ! et c'est dans le but de commettre toutes ces abominations !

KJV ¹⁰ And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?

VULC ¹⁰ et venistis, et stetistis coram me
in domo hac, in qua invocatum est nomen meum,
et dixistis : Liberati sumus,
eo quod fecerimus omnes abominationes istas.

WLC ¹⁰ וּבָאתֶ֞ם וַעֲמַדְתֶּ֣ם לְפָנַ֗י בַּבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִקְרָא־ שְׁמִ֣י עָלָ֔יו וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם נִצַּ֑לְנוּ לְמַ֣עַן עֲשׂ֔וֹת אֵ֥ת כָּל־ הַתּוֹעֵב֖וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

BAN ¹¹ Est-ce à vos yeux une caverne de brigands, que cette maison sur laquelle mon nom a été invoqué ? Eh bien ! moi aussi, je l'ai vu, dit l'Eternel.

KJV ¹¹ Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

VULC ¹¹ Numquid ergo spelunca latronum facta est domus ista,
in qua invocatum est nomen meum in oculis vestris ?
Ego, ego sum : ego vidi, dicit Dominus.

WLC ¹¹ הַמְעָרַ֣ת פָּרִצִ֗ים הָיָ֨ה הַבַּ֧יִת הַזֶּ֛ה אֲשֶׁר־ נִקְרָֽא־ שְׁמִ֥י עָלָ֖יו בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֑ם גַּ֧ם אָנֹכִ֛י הִנֵּ֥ה רָאִ֖יתִי נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ¹² Allez à ma demeure qui était à Silo, où j'avais fait habiter mon nom dans les premiers temps, et voyez ce que j'en ai fait à cause de la méchanceté de mon peuple d'Israël !

KJV ¹² But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

VULC ¹² Ite ad locum meum in Silo,
ubi habitavit nomen meum a principio,
et videte quæ fecerim ei propter malitiam populi mei Israël.

WLC ¹² כִּ֣י לְכוּ־ נָ֗א אֶל־ מְקוֹמִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּשִׁיל֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר שִׁכַּ֧נְתִּֽי שְׁמִ֛י שָׁ֖ם בָּרִֽאשׁוֹנָ֑ה וּרְאוּ֙ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר־ עָשִׂ֣יתִי ל֔וֹ מִפְּנֵ֕י רָעַ֖ת עַמִּ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

BAN ¹³ Et maintenant, puisque vous avez fait toutes ces actions, dit l'Eternel, et que je vous ai parlé, vous parlant dès le matin, et vous n'avez point écouté, et que je vous ai appelés, et vous n'avez point répondu,

KJV ¹³ And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;

VULC ¹³ Et nunc, quia fecistis omnia opera hæc, dicit Dominus,
et locutus sum ad vos mane consurgens, et loquens, et non audistis :
et vocavi vos, et non respondistis :

WLC ¹³ וְעַתָּ֗ה יַ֧עַן עֲשׂוֹתְכֶ֛ם אֶת־ כָּל־ הַמַּֽעֲשִׂ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וָאֲדַבֵּ֨ר אֲלֵיכֶ֜ם הַשְׁכֵּ֤ם וְדַבֵּר֙ וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֔ם וָאֶקְרָ֥א אֶתְכֶ֖ם וְלֹ֥א עֲנִיתֶֽם׃

BAN ¹⁴ je ferai de cette maison, sur laquelle mon nom a été invoqué, dans laquelle vous vous confiez, et de ce lieu que j'avais donné à vous et à vos pères, ce que j'ai fait de Silo,

KJV ¹⁴ Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

VULC ¹⁴ faciam domui huic, in qua invocatum est nomen meum,
et in qua vos habetis fiduciam,
et loco quem dedi vobis et patribus vestris,
sicut feci Silo :

WLC ¹⁴ וְעָשִׂ֜יתִי לַבַּ֣יִת ׀ אֲשֶׁ֧ר נִֽקְרָא־ שְׁמִ֣י עָלָ֗יו אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתֶּם֙ בֹּטְחִ֣ים בּ֔וֹ וְלַ֨מָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁר־ נָתַ֥תִּי לָכֶ֖ם וְלַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי לְשִׁלֽוֹ׃

BAN ¹⁵ et je vous rejetterai de devant ma face, comme j'ai rejeté tous vos frères, toute la race d'Ephraïm.

KJV ¹⁵ And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

VULC ¹⁵ et projiciam vos a facie mea
sicut projeci omnes fratres vestros,
universum semen Ephraim.

WLC ¹⁵ וְהִשְׁלַכְתִּ֥י אֶתְכֶ֖ם מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֑י כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר הִשְׁלַ֙כְתִּי֙ אֶת־ כָּל־ אֲחֵיכֶ֔ם אֵ֖ת כָּל־ זֶ֥רַע אֶפְרָֽיִם׃
