KJV ¹¹ Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

quis deducet me usque in Idumæam ?

WLC ¹¹ כִּֽי־ הִמְר֥וּ אִמְרֵי־ אֵ֑ל וַעֲצַ֖ת עֶלְי֣וֹן נָאָֽצוּ׃

DRB ¹² Et il a humilié leur cœur par le travail* ; ils ont trébuché, sans qu'il y eût personne qui les secourût.

KJV ¹² Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

VULC ¹² nonne tu, Deus, qui repulisti nos ?
et non exibis, Deus, in virtutibus nostris ?

WLC ¹² וַיַּכְנַ֣ע בֶּעָמָ֣ל לִבָּ֑ם כָּ֝שְׁל֗וּ וְאֵ֣ין עֹזֵֽר׃

DRB ¹³ Alors ils crièrent à l'Éternel dans leur détresse, [et] il les délivra de leurs angoisses :

KJV ¹³ Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

VULC ¹³ Da nobis auxilium de tribulatione,
quia vana salus hominis.

WLC ¹³ וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־ יְ֭הוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֝מְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃

DRB ¹⁴ Il les fit sortir des ténèbres et de l'ombre de la mort, et rompit leurs liens.

KJV ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

VULC ¹⁴ In Deo faciemus virtutem ;
et ipse ad nihilum deducet inimicos nostros.]

WLC ¹⁴ יֽ֭וֹצִיאֵם מֵחֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת וּמוֹסְר֖וֹתֵיהֶ֣ם יְנַתֵּֽק׃

DRB ¹⁵ Qu'ils célèbrent l'Éternel pour sa bonté, et pour ses merveilles envers les fils des hommes !

KJV ¹⁵ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

WLC ¹⁵ יוֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁶ Car il a brisé les portes d'airain, et a mis en pièces les barres de fer.

KJV ¹⁶ For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
