⁷ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. ⁸ Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

⁷ En effet, ce n'est pas un esprit de timidité que Dieu nous a donné, mais un esprit de force, d'amour et de sagesse. ⁸ N'aie donc pas honte du témoignage à rendre à notre Seigneur, ni de moi son prisonnier, mais souffre avec moi pour l'Evangile en comptant sur la puissance de Dieu.
