Es 6:11-13 (King James)

¹¹ Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, ¹² And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land. ¹³ But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

¹¹ J'ai dit: «Jusqu'à quand, Seigneur?» Et il a répondu:
«Jusqu'à ce que la dévastation ait privé les villes d'habitants
et les maisons d'êtres humains
et que le territoire soit dévasté, désertique,
¹² jusqu'à ce que l'Eternel ait éloigné les êtres humains
et qu'une grande partie du pays soit abandonnée.
¹³ S'il y reste encore un dixième des habitants,
à leur tour ils passeront par les flammes.
Cependant, tout comme le térébinthe et le chêne
conservent leur souche quand ils sont abattus,
la souche de ce peuple donnera une sainte descendance.»
