Mt 9:14-17 (King James)

   ¹⁴ Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? ¹⁵ And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. ¹⁶ No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. ¹⁷ Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

¹⁴ τότε προσέρχονται αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ ἰωάννου λέγοντες διατί ἡμεῖς καὶ οἱ φαρισαῖοι νηστεύομεν πολλά οἱ δὲ μαθηταί σου οὐ νηστεύουσιν ¹⁵ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς μὴ δύνανται οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ νυμφῶνος πενθεῖν ἐφ᾽ ὅσον μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐστιν ὁ νυμφίος ἐλεύσονται δὲ ἡμέραι ὅταν ἀπαρθῇ ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ὁ νυμφίος καὶ τότε νηστεύσουσιν ¹⁶ οὐδεὶς δὲ ἐπιβάλλει ἐπίβλημα ῥάκους ἀγνάφου ἐπὶ ἱματίῳ παλαιῷ αἴρει γὰρ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἱματίου καὶ χεῖρον σχίσμα γίνεται ¹⁷ οὐδὲ βάλλουσιν οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς παλαιούς εἰ δὲ μήγε ῥήγνυνται οἱ ἀσκοί καὶ ὁ οἰνος ἐκχεῖται καὶ οἱ ἀσκοὶ ἀπολοῦνται ἀλλὰ βάλλουσιν οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς καινούς καὶ ἀμφότερα συντηροῦνται

   ¹⁴ Tunc accesserunt ad eum discipuli Joannis, dicentes : Quare nos, et pharisæi, jejunamus frequenter : discipuli autem tui non jejunant ?
   ¹⁵ Et ait illis Jesus : Numquid possunt filii sponsi lugere, quamdiu cum illis est sponsus ? Venient autem dies cum auferetur ab eis sponsus : et tunc jejunabunt.
   ¹⁶ Nemo autem immittit commissuram panni rudis in vestimentum vetus : tollit enim plenitudinem ejus a vestimento, et pejor scissura fit.
   ¹⁷ Neque mittunt vinum novum in utres veteres : alioquin rumpuntur utres, et vinum effunditur, et utres pereunt. Sed vinum novum in utres novos mittunt : et ambo conservantur.
