³ au second char des chevaux noirs, au troisième char des chevaux blancs, et au quatrième char des chevaux tachetés, vigoureux. ⁴ Je pris la parole et je dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi : "que sont ceux-ci, mon seigneur ?" ⁵ L'ange répondit et me dit : "ce sont les quatre vents du ciel qui viennent de se tenir devant le Seigneur de toute la terre." ⁶ Le char auquel il y a des chevaux noirs sortit vers le pays du septentrion ; les blancs sortirent après eux, et les tachetés sortirent vers le pays du midi. ⁷ Les coursiers vigoureux sortirent et ils demandèrent à partir pour parcourir la terre. L'ange leur dit : "allez, parcourez la terre !" Et ils parcoururent la terre. ⁸ Et il m'appela et il me parla en ces termes : "vois, ceux qui sont partis vers le pays du septentrion ont apaisé mon esprit dans le pays du septentrion."

³ And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. ⁴ Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? ⁵ And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the LORD of all the earth. ⁶ The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country. ⁷ And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth. ⁸ Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
