Os 12:1-6 (King James)

¹ Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
² The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
³ He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
⁴ Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;
⁵ Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
⁶ Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually.

Os 12:1-6 (Segond 21)

¹ Ephraïm m'entoure de mensonge, et la communauté d'Israël de tromperie. Juda est encore sans frein vis-à-vis de Dieu, vis-à-vis du Saint fidèle.
² Ephraïm se nourrit de vent et poursuit le vent d'est; chaque jour il multiplie le mensonge et la violence. Il fait alliance avec l'Assyrie et on porte de l'huile en Egypte.
³ L'Eternel est aussi en procès avec Juda, et il interviendra contre Jacob en fonction de sa conduite, il lui paiera un salaire conforme à ses agissements.
⁴ Dans le ventre maternel, Jacob a attrapé son frère par le talon et, devenu homme, il a lutté avec Dieu.
⁵ Il a lutté avec l'ange, et il a été vainqueur, il a pleuré et lui a adressé des supplications. Jacob l'avait trouvé à Béthel, et c'est là que Dieu nous a parlé.
⁶ L'Eternel est le Dieu de l'univers; son nom est l'Eternel.
