BAN ¹ Et la reine de Séba, ayant entendu parler de Salomon, ainsi que du nom de l'Eternel, vint pour l'éprouver par des énigmes.

KJV ¹ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

BAN ² Et elle arriva à Jérusalem avec une très grande suite, des chameaux portant des aromates, de l'or en fort grande quantité et des pierres précieuses ; et elle vint vers Salomon, et lui dit tout ce qu'elle avait dans le coeur.

KJV ² And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

BAN ³ Et Salomon répondit à toutes ses questions ; il n'y eut rien qui fût caché au roi et qu'il ne lui expliquât.

KJV ³ And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.

BAN ⁴ Et la reine de Séba vit toute la sagesse de Salomon, et la maison qu'il avait bâtie,

KJV ⁴ And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

BAN ⁵ et les mets de sa table, et les appartements de ses serviteurs, et le lieu où se tenaient ses officiers, et leurs vêtements, et ses celliers, et la montée par laquelle il montait à la maison de l'Eternel ; et elle fut toute hors d'elle,

KJV ⁵ And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.

BAN ⁶ et elle dit au roi : C'est bien vrai, ce que j'ai entendu raconter dans mon pays de ta condition et de ta sagesse.

KJV ⁶ And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.

BAN ⁷ Je n'ai pas ajouté foi à ce qu'on en disait, jusqu'à ce que je sois venue et que mes yeux aient vu ; et voici, on ne m'en avait pas rapporté la moitié ; tu surpasses en prospérité ce que la renommée m'avait appris.

KJV ⁷ Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.

BAN ⁸ Heureux sont tes gens ! heureux tes serviteurs, que voilà, qui se tiennent continuellement devant toi, écoutant ta sagesse !

KJV ⁸ Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.

BAN ⁹ Béni soit l'Eternel, ton Dieu, qui a pris plaisir en toi en te plaçant sur le trône d'Israël ! C'est parce que l'Eternel aime Israël à jamais, qu'il t'a établi roi pour faire droit et justice.

KJV ⁹ Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

BAN ¹⁰ Et elle donna au roi cent vingt talents d'or et des aromates en très grande quantité et des pierres précieuses. Il ne vint plus jamais autant d'aromates que la reine de Séba en donna au roi Salomon.

KJV ¹⁰ And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

BAN ¹¹ Et la flotte de Hiram, qui rapportait de l'or d'Ophir, amenait aussi d'Ophir du bois de sandal en fort grande abondance, et des pierres précieuses.

KJV ¹¹ And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.

BAN ¹² Et le roi fit avec le bois de sandal des balustrades pour la maison de l'Eternel et pour la maison du roi, et des harpes et des luths pour les chantres. Il ne vint plus de ce bois de sandal et on n'en a pas revu jusqu'à ce jour.

KJV ¹² And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.

BAN ¹³ Et le roi Salomon donna à la reine de Séba tout ce qu'elle désira et demanda, sans compter les présents qu'il lui fit [de son propre gré], comme pouvait le faire le roi Salomon. Et elle s'en retourna, et s'en alla dans son pays, elle et ses serviteurs.

KJV ¹³ And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.
