DRB ⁹ Et en la vingtième année de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, Asa commença de régner sur Juda ;

KJV ⁹ And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

WLC ⁹ וּבִשְׁנַ֣ת עֶשְׂרִ֔ים לְיָרָבְעָ֖ם מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מָלַ֥ךְ אָסָ֖א מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁰ et il régna quarante et un ans à Jérusalem ; et le nom de sa mère* était Maaca, fille d'Abishalom.

KJV ¹⁰ And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאַרְבָּעִ֤ים וְאַחַת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ מַעֲכָ֖ה בַּת־ אֲבִישָׁלֽוֹם׃

DRB ¹¹ Et Asa fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, comme David, son père ;

KJV ¹¹ And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.

WLC ¹¹ וַיַּ֧עַשׂ אָסָ֛א הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּדָוִ֖ד אָבִֽיו׃

DRB ¹² et il fit disparaître du pays les hommes voués à la prostitution, et ôta toutes les idoles que ses pères avaient faites.

KJV ¹² And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

WLC ¹² וַיַּעֲבֵ֥ר הַקְּדֵשִׁ֖ים מִן־ הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיָּ֙סַר֙ אֶת־ כָּל־ הַגִּלֻּלִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשׂ֖וּ אֲבֹתָֽיו׃

DRB ¹³ Et même à Maaca, sa mère, il ôta sa position de reine, parce qu'elle avait fait un simulacre pour Ashère* ; et Asa abattit son simulacre, et le brûla dans la vallée du Cédron.

KJV ¹³ And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

WLC ¹³ וְגַ֣ם ׀ אֶת־ מַעֲכָ֣ה אִמּ֗וֹ וַיְסִרֶ֙הָ֙ מִגְּבִירָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ עָשְׂתָ֥ה מִפְלֶ֖צֶת לָאֲשֵׁרָ֑ה וַיִּכְרֹ֤ת אָסָא֙ אֶת־ מִפְלַצְתָּ֔הּ וַיִּשְׂרֹ֖ף בְּנַ֥חַל קִדְרֽוֹן׃

DRB ¹⁴ Mais les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés ; cependant le cœur d'Asa fut parfait avec l'Éternel, tous ses jours.

KJV ¹⁴ But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

WLC ¹⁴ וְהַבָּמ֖וֹת לֹא־ סָ֑רוּ רַ֣ק לְבַב־ אָסָ֗א הָיָ֥ה שָׁלֵ֛ם עִם־ יְהוָ֖ה כָּל־ יָמָֽיו׃

DRB ¹⁵ Et il apporta dans la maison de l'Éternel les choses saintes de son père et les choses que lui-même avait consacrées*, de l'argent, et de l'or, et des ustensiles.

KJV ¹⁵ And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

WLC ¹⁵ וַיָּבֵא֙ אֶת־ קָדְשֵׁ֣י אָבִ֔יו בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה כֶּ֥סֶף וְזָהָ֖ב וְכֵלִֽים׃

DRB ¹⁶ Et il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baësha, roi d'Israël, tous leurs jours.

KJV ¹⁶ And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

WLC ¹⁶ וּמִלְחָמָ֨ה הָיְתָ֜ה בֵּ֣ין אָסָ֗א וּבֵ֛ין בַּעְשָׁ֥א מֶֽלֶךְ־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כָּל־ יְמֵיהֶֽם׃

DRB ¹⁷ Et Baësha, roi d'Israël, monta contre Juda ; et il bâtit Rama, afin de ne permettre à personne de sortir de chez Asa, roi de Juda, ou d'entrer vers lui.*

KJV ¹⁷ And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיַּ֨עַל בַּעְשָׁ֤א מֶֽלֶךְ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ עַל־ יְהוּדָ֔ה וַיִּ֖בֶן אֶת־ הָרָמָ֑ה לְבִלְתִּ֗י תֵּ֚ת יֹצֵ֣א וָבָ֔א לְאָסָ֖א מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁸ Et Asa prit tout l'argent et l'or qui restaient dans les trésors de la maison de l'Éternel et dans les trésors de la maison du roi, et les mit entre les mains de ses serviteurs ; et le roi Asa les envoya à Ben-Hadad, fils de Tabrimmon, fils de Hézion, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas, disant :

KJV ¹⁸ Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

WLC ¹⁸ וַיִּקַּ֣ח אָ֠סָא אֶת־ כָּל־ הַכֶּ֨סֶף וְהַזָּהָ֜ב הַֽנּוֹתָרִ֣ים ׀ בְּאוֹצְר֣וֹת בֵּית־ יְהוָ֗ה וְאֶת־ אֽוֹצְרוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖ם בְּיַד־ עֲבָדָ֑יו וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֞ם הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אָסָ֗א אֶל־ בֶּן־ הֲ֠דַד בֶּן־ טַבְרִמֹּ֤ן בֶּן־ חֶזְיוֹן֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֔ם הַיֹּשֵׁ֥ב בְּדַמֶּ֖שֶׂק לֵאמֹֽר׃

DRB ¹⁹ Il y a alliance entre moi et toi, entre mon père et ton père ; voici, je t'envoie un présent d'argent et d'or : va, romps ton alliance avec Baësha, roi d'Israël, afin qu'il s'en aille d'auprès de moi.

KJV ¹⁹ There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

WLC ¹⁹ בְּרִית֙ בֵּינִ֣י וּבֵינֶ֔ךָ בֵּ֥ין אָבִ֖י וּבֵ֣ין אָבִ֑יךָ הִנֵּה֩ שָׁלַ֨חְתִּֽי לְךָ֥ שֹׁ֙חַד֙ כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֔ב לֵ֣ךְ הָפֵ֗רָה אֶת־ בְּרִֽיתְךָ֙ אֶת־ בַּעְשָׁ֣א מֶֽלֶךְ־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְיַעֲלֶ֖ה מֵעָלָֽי׃

DRB ²⁰ Et Ben-Hadad écouta le roi Asa, et envoya les chefs de ses troupes contre les villes d'Israël, et il frappa Ijon, et Dan, et Abel-Beth-Maaca, et tout Kinneroth avec tout le pays de Nephthali.

KJV ²⁰ So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

WLC ²⁰ וַיִּשְׁמַ֨ע בֶּן־ הֲדַ֜ד אֶל־ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אָסָ֗א וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח אֶת־ שָׂרֵ֨י הַחֲיָלִ֤ים אֲשֶׁר־ לוֹ֙ עַל־ עָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־ עִיּ֣וֹן וְאֶת־ דָּ֔ן וְאֵ֖ת אָבֵ֣ל בֵּֽית־ מַעֲכָ֑ה וְאֵת֙ כָּל־ כִּנְר֔וֹת עַ֖ל כָּל־ אֶ֥רֶץ נַפְתָּלִֽי׃

DRB ²¹ Et il arriva, quand Baësha l'apprit, qu'il se désista de bâtir Rama, et il habita à Thirtsa.

KJV ²¹ And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

WLC ²¹ וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ בַּעְשָׁ֔א וַיֶּחְדַּ֕ל מִבְּנ֖וֹת אֶת־ הָֽרָמָ֑ה וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב בְּתִרְצָֽה׃

DRB ²² Et le roi Asa convoqua tout Juda, personne n'était exempté ; et ils emportèrent les pierres de Rama, et les bois avec lesquels Baësha bâtissait ; et le roi Asa en bâtit Guéba de Benjamin et Mitspa.

KJV ²² Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

WLC ²² וְהַמֶּ֨לֶךְ אָסָ֜א הִשְׁמִ֤יעַ אֶת־ כָּל־ יְהוּדָה֙ אֵ֣ין נָקִ֔י וַיִּשְׂא֞וּ אֶת־ אַבְנֵ֤י הָֽרָמָה֙ וְאֶת־ עֵצֶ֔יהָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָ֖ה בַּעְשָׁ֑א וַיִּ֤בֶן בָּם֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אָסָ֔א אֶת־ גֶּ֥בַע בִּנְיָמִ֖ן וְאֶת־ הַמִּצְפָּֽה׃

DRB ²³ Et le reste de tous les actes d'Asa, et toute sa puissance, et tout ce qu'il fit, et les villes qu'il bâtit, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Juda ? Seulement, au temps de sa vieillesse, il fut malade des pieds.

KJV ²³ The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

WLC ²³ וְיֶ֣תֶר כָּל־ דִּבְרֵֽי־ אָ֠סָא וְכָל־ גְּב֨וּרָת֜וֹ וְכָל־ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֗ה וְהֶֽעָרִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנָ֔ה הֲלֹֽא־ הֵ֣מָּה כְתוּבִ֗ים עַל־ סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה רַ֚ק לְעֵ֣ת זִקְנָת֔וֹ חָלָ֖ה אֶת־ רַגְלָֽיו׃

DRB ²⁴ Et Asa s'endormit avec ses pères ; et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père ; et Josaphat, son fils régna à sa place. *

KJV ²⁴ And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.

WLC ²⁴ וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב אָסָא֙ עִם־ אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵר֙ עִם־ אֲבֹתָ֔יו בְּעִ֖יר דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃
