KJV ¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

S21 ¹ Elie le Thishbite, l'un des habitants de Galaad, dit à Achab: «L'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, dont je suis le serviteur est vivant! Il n'y aura ces années-ci pas de rosée ni de pluie, sauf sur ma parole.»

KJV ² And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

S21 ² Puis la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Elie:

KJV ³ Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

S21 ³ «Pars d'ici en direction de l'est et cache-toi près du torrent de Kerith, qui se trouve en face du Jourdain.

KJV ⁴ And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

S21 ⁴ Tu boiras de l'eau du torrent et c'est aux corbeaux que j'ai ordonné de te nourrir là.»

KJV ⁵ So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

S21 ⁵ Elie partit et se conforma à la parole de l'Eternel: il alla s'installer près du torrent de Kerith, qui se trouve en face du Jourdain.

KJV ⁶ And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

S21 ⁶ Les corbeaux lui apportaient du pain et de la viande matin et soir, et il buvait de l'eau du torrent.
