KJV ²⁹ So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.

MAR ²⁹ Le Roi d'Israël donc monta avec Josaphat Roi de Juda contre Ramoth de Galaad.

DRB ³⁰ Et le roi d'Israël dit à Josaphat : Je me déguiserai, et j'irai à la bataille ; mais toi, revêts-toi de tes robes. Et le roi d'Israël se déguisa et fut à la bataille.

KJV ³⁰ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.

MAR ³⁰ Et le Roi d'Israël dit à Josaphat : Que je me déguise, et que j'aille à la bataille ; mais toi, revêts-toi de tes habits. Le Roi d'Israël donc se déguisa, et alla à la bataille.

DRB ³¹ Et le roi de Syrie commanda aux trente-deux chefs de ses chars, disant : Ne combattez ni contre petit ni contre grand, mais contre le roi d'Israël seul.

KJV ³¹ But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

MAR ³¹ Or le Roi des Syriens avait commandé aux trente-deux capitaines de ses chariots, en disant : Vous ne combattrez contre qui que ce soit petit ou grand, mais contre le seul Roi d'Israël.

DRB ³² Et il arriva que, quand les chefs des chars virent Josaphat, ils dirent : Certainement c'est le roi d'Israël. Et ils se détournèrent, pour combattre contre lui ; et Josaphat cria.

KJV ³² And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.

MAR ³² Il arriva donc que dès que les capitaines des chariots eurent vu Josaphat, ils dirent : C'est certainement le Roi d'Israël ; et ils se détournèrent vers lui pour le combattre, mais Josaphat s'écria.

DRB ³³ Et il arriva que, lorsque les chefs des chars virent que ce n'était pas le roi d'Israël, ils s'en revinrent de sa poursuite.

KJV ³³ And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

MAR ³³ Et sitôt que les capitaines des chariots eurent vu que ce n'était pas le Roi d'Israël, ils se détournèrent de lui.

DRB ³⁴ Et un homme tira de l'arc à l'aventure et frappa le roi d'Israël entre les pièces d'attache et la cuirasse ; et [Achab] dit au conducteur de son char : Tourne ta main, et mène-moi hors de l'armée, car je suis blessé.

KJV ³⁴ And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

MAR ³⁴ Alors quelqu'un tira de son arc de toute sa force, et frappa le Roi d'Israël entre les tassettes et les harnais ; et le Roi dit à son cocher : Tourne ta main, et mène-moi hors du camp ; car on m'a fort blessé.

DRB ³⁵ Et la bataille se renforça ce jour-là, et le roi fut soutenu debout sur [son] char, vis-à-vis des Syriens ; et il mourut le soir ; et le sang de la blessure coulait dans le fond du char.

KJV ³⁵ And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.

MAR ³⁵ Or la bataille fut très-grande en ce jour-là ; et le Roi [d'Israël] fut arrêté dans son chariot vis-à-vis des Syriens, et mourut sur le soir ; et le sang de sa plaie coulait sur le fond du chariot.

DRB ³⁶ Et une proclamation passa par le camp, au coucher du soleil, disant : Chacun à sa ville, et chacun à son pays !

KJV ³⁶ And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.

MAR ³⁶ Et sitôt que le soleil fut couché, on fit crier par le camp, en disant : [que] chacun se retire en sa ville, et chacun en son pays.

DRB ³⁷ Et le roi mourut, et on l'amena à Samarie ; et on enterra le roi à Samarie.

KJV ³⁷ So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.

MAR ³⁷ Le Roi donc mourut, et fut porté à Samarie, et y fut enseveli.

DRB ³⁸ Et on lava le char à l'étang de Samarie, et les chiens léchèrent le sang d'Achab*, là** où les prostituées se lavaient, selon la parole de l'Éternel qu'il avait prononcée.

KJV ³⁸ And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.

MAR ³⁸ Et on lava le chariot au vivier de Samarie, et les chiens léchèrent son sang, [et aussi quand] on lava ses armes, selon là parole que l'Eternel avait prononcée.

DRB ³⁹ Et le reste des actes d'Achab, et tout ce qu'il fit, et la maison d'ivoire qu'il bâtit, et toutes les villes qu'il bâtit : ces choses ne sont-elles pas écrites dans le livre des chroniques des rois d'Israël ?

KJV ³⁹ Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

MAR ³⁹ Le reste des faits d'Achab, tout ce, dis-je, qu'il a fait, et quant à la maison d'ivoire qu'il bâtit, et à toutes les villes qu'il bâtit, toutes ces choses ne sont-elles pas écrites au Livre des Chroniques des Rois d'Israël ?

DRB ⁴⁰ Et Achab s'endormit avec ses pères ; et Achazia, son fils, régna à sa place.

KJV ⁴⁰ So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

MAR ⁴⁰ Ainsi Achab s'endormit avec ses pères, et Achazia son fils régna en sa place.
