BCC ⁶ Lorsqu'ils furent entrés, Samuel aperçut Eliab et dit : « Certainement l'oint de Yahweh est devant lui. »

KJV ⁶ And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him.

LSG ⁶ Lorsqu'ils entrèrent, il se dit, en voyant Éliab: Certainement, l'oint de l'Éternel est ici devant lui.

WLC ⁶ וַיְהִ֣י בְּבוֹאָ֔ם וַיַּ֖רְא אֶת־ אֱלִיאָ֑ב וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אַ֛ךְ נֶ֥גֶד יְהוָ֖ה מְשִׁיחֽוֹ׃

BCC ⁷ Et Yahweh dit à Samuel : « Ne prends pas garde à sa figure et à la hauteur de sa taille, car je l'ai écarté. Il ne s'agit pas de ce que l'homme voit ; l'homme regarde le visage, mais Yahweh regarde le coeur. »

KJV ⁷ But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

LSG ⁷ Et l'Éternel dit à Samuel: Ne prends point garde à son apparence et à la hauteur de sa taille, car je l'ai rejeté. L'Éternel ne considère pas ce que l'homme considère ; l'homme regarde à ce qui frappe les yeux, mais l'Éternel regarde au coeur.

BCC ¹¹ Alors Samuel dit à Isaï : « Sont-ce là tous les jeunes gens ? » Il répondit : « Il y a encore le plus jeune, et voilà qu'il fait paître les brebis. » Samuel dit à Isaï : « Envoie-le chercher, car nous ne nous mettrons point à table qu'il ne soit venu ici. »

LSG ¹¹ Puis Samuel dit à Isaï: Sont-ce là tous tes fils ? Et il répondit: Il reste encore le plus jeune, mais il fait paître les brebis. Alors Samuel dit à Isaï: Envoie-le chercher, car nous ne nous placerons pas avant qu'il ne soit venu ici.

BCC ¹² Isaï l'envoya chercher. Or il était blond, avec de beaux yeux et une belle figure. Yahweh dit : « Lève-toi, oins-le, car c'est lui ! »

KJV ¹² And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

LSG ¹² Isaï l'envoya chercher. Or il était blond, avec de beaux yeux et une belle figure. L'Éternel dit à Samuel: Lève-toi, oins-le, car c'est lui !

WLC ¹² וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח וַיְבִיאֵ֙הוּ֙ וְה֣וּא אַדְמוֹנִ֔י עִם־ יְפֵ֥ה עֵינַ֖יִם וְט֣וֹב רֹ֑אִי וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יְהוָ֛ה ק֥וּם מְשָׁחֵ֖הוּ כִּֽי־ זֶ֥ה הֽוּא׃

BCC ¹³ Samuel, ayant pris la corne d'huile, l'oignit au milieu de ses frères, et l'Esprit de Yahweh fondit sur David à partir de ce jour et dans la suite.

KJV ¹³ Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

LSG ¹³ Samuel prit la corne d'huile, et l'oignit au milieu de ses frères. L'esprit de l'Éternel saisit David, à partir de ce jour et dans la suite. Samuel se leva, et s'en alla à Rama.
