Et Saül dit : Je suis dans une grande détresse ; car les Philistins me font la guerre, et Dieu s'est retiré de moi, et ne me répond plus, ni par les* prophètes, ni par les songes ; et je t'ai appelé pour me faire savoir ce que j'ai à faire.

KJV ¹⁵ And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

LSG ¹⁵ Samuel dit à Saül: Pourquoi m'as-tu troublé, en me faisant monter ? Saül répondit: Je suis dans une grande détresse: les Philistins me font la guerre, et Dieu s'est retiré de moi ; il ne m'a répondu ni par les prophètes ni par des songes. Et je t'ai appelé pour que tu me fasses connaître ce que je dois faire.

VULC ¹⁵ Dixit autem Samuel ad Saul : Quare inquietasti me ut suscitarer ? Et ait Saul : Coarctor nimis : siquidem Philisthiim pugnant adversum me, et Deus recessit a me, et exaudire me noluit neque in manu prophetarum, neque per somnia : vocavi ergo te, ut ostenderes mihi quid faciam.

DRB ¹⁶ Et Samuel dit : Et pourquoi m'interroges-tu, quand l'Éternel s'est retiré de toi et qu'il est devenu ton ennemi ?

KJV ¹⁶ Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?

LSG ¹⁶ Samuel dit: Pourquoi donc me consultes-tu, puisque l'Éternel s'est retiré de toi et qu'il est devenu ton ennemi ?

VULC ¹⁶ Et ait Samuel : Quid interrogas me, cum Dominus recesserit a te, et transierit ad æmulum tuum ?

WLC ¹⁶ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וְלָ֖מָּה תִּשְׁאָלֵ֑נִי וַיהוָ֛ה סָ֥ר מֵעָלֶ֖יךָ וַיְהִ֥י עָרֶֽךָ׃

DRB ¹⁷ Et l'Éternel a fait pour lui-même comme il l'a dit par moi* ; et l'Éternel a déchiré le royaume d'entre tes mains et l'a donné à ton prochain, à David ;

KJV ¹⁷ And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:

LSG ¹⁷ L'Éternel te traite comme je te l'avais annoncé de sa part ; l'Éternel a déchiré la royauté d'entre tes mains, et l'a donnée à un autre, à David.

VULC ¹⁷ Faciet enim tibi Dominus sicut locutus est in manu mea, et scindet regnum tuum de manu tua et dabit illud proximo tuo David :

WLC ¹⁷ וַיַּ֤עַשׂ יְהוָה֙ ל֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֣ר בְּיָדִ֑י וַיִּקְרַ֨ע יְהוָ֤ה אֶת־ הַמַּמְלָכָה֙ מִיָּדֶ֔ךָ וַֽיִּתְּנָ֖הּ לְרֵעֲךָ֥ לְדָוִֽד׃

DRB ¹⁸ parce que tu n'as pas écouté la voix de l'Éternel et que tu n'as pas exécuté l'ardeur de sa colère contre Amalek : à cause de cela, l'Éternel t'a fait ceci aujourd'hui.

KJV ¹⁸ Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.

LSG ¹⁸ Tu n'as point obéi à la voix de l'Éternel, et tu n'as point fait sentir à Amalek l'ardeur de sa colère: voilà pourquoi l'Éternel te traite aujourd'hui de cette manière.

VULC ¹⁸ quia non obedisti voci Domini, neque fecisti iram furoris ejus in Amalec : idcirco quod pateris, fecit tibi Dominus hodie.

WLC ¹⁸ כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־ שָׁמַ֙עְתָּ֙ בְּק֣וֹל יְהוָ֔ה וְלֹֽא־ עָשִׂ֥יתָ חֲרוֹן־ אַפּ֖וֹ בַּעֲמָלֵ֑ק עַל־ כֵּן֙ הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה עָשָֽׂה־ לְךָ֥ יְהוָ֖ה הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

DRB ¹⁹ Et l'Éternel livrera aussi Israël avec toi en la main des Philistins ; et demain, toi et tes fils, vous serez avec moi ; l'Éternel livrera aussi l'armée d'Israël en la main des Philistins.

KJV ¹⁹ Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

LSG ¹⁹ Et même l'Éternel livrera Israël avec toi entre les mains des Philistins. Demain, toi et tes fils, vous serez avec moi, et l'Éternel livrera le camp d'Israël entre les mains des Philistins.

VULC ¹⁹ Et dabit Dominus etiam Israël tecum in manus Philisthiim : cras autem tu et filii tui mecum eritis : sed et castra Israël tradet Dominus in manus Philisthiim.
