DRB ¹¹ Et l'Éternel dit à Samuel : Voici, je vais faire en Israël une chose telle, que quiconque l'entendra, les deux oreilles lui tinteront.

KJV ¹¹ And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

VULC ¹¹ Et dixit Dominus ad Samuelem : Ecce ego facio verbum in Israël, quod quicumque audierit, tinnient ambæ aures ejus.

WLC ¹¹ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־ שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל הִנֵּ֧ה אָנֹכִ֛י עֹשֶׂ֥ה דָבָ֖ר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁר֙ כָּל־ שֹׁ֣מְע֔וֹ תְּצִלֶּ֖ינָה שְׁתֵּ֥י אָזְנָֽיו׃

DRB ¹² En ce jour-là j'accomplirai sur Éli tout ce que j'ai dit touchant sa maison : je commencerai et j'achèverai ;

KJV ¹² In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

VULC ¹² In die illa suscitabo adversum Heli omnia quæ locutus sum super domum ejus : incipiam, et complebo.

WLC ¹² בַּיּ֤וֹם הַהוּא֙ אָקִ֣ים אֶל־ עֵלִ֔י אֵ֛ת כָּל־ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי אֶל־ בֵּית֑וֹ הָחֵ֖ל וְכַלֵּֽה׃

DRB ¹³ car je lui ai déclaré que je vais juger sa maison pour toujours, à cause de l'iniquité qu'il connaît, parce que ses fils se sont avilis et qu'il ne les a pas retenus.

KJV ¹³ For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

VULC ¹³ Prædixi enim ei quod judicaturus essem domum ejus in æternum propter iniquitatem, eo quod noverat indigne agere filios suos, et non corripuerit eos.

WLC ¹³ וְהִגַּ֣דְתִּי ל֔וֹ כִּֽי־ שֹׁפֵ֥ט אֲנִ֛י אֶת־ בֵּית֖וֹ עַד־ עוֹלָ֑ם בַּעֲוֺ֣ן אֲשֶׁר־ יָדַ֗ע כִּֽי־ מְקַֽלְלִ֤ים לָהֶם֙ בָּנָ֔יו וְלֹ֥א כִהָ֖ה בָּֽם׃

DRB ¹⁴ C'est pourquoi j'ai juré à la maison d'Éli ; Si jamais propitiation est faite pour l'iniquité de la maison d'Éli, par sacrifice ou par offrande* !

KJV ¹⁴ And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

VULC ¹⁴ Idcirco juravi domui Heli quod non expietur iniquitas domus ejus victimis et muneribus usque in æternum.

WLC ¹⁴ וְלָכֵ֥ן נִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּי לְבֵ֣ית עֵלִ֑י אִֽם־ יִתְכַּפֵּ֞ר עֲוֺ֧ן בֵּית־ עֵלִ֛י בְּזֶ֥בַח וּבְמִנְחָ֖ה עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁵ Et Samuel resta couché jusqu'au matin ; et il ouvrit les portes de la maison de l'Éternel. Et Samuel craignait de rapporter sa vision à Éli.

KJV ¹⁵ And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.

VULC ¹⁵ Dormivit autem Samuel usque mane, aperuitque ostia domus Domini. Et Samuel timebat indicare visionem Heli.

WLC ¹⁵ וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב שְׁמוּאֵל֙ עַד־ הַבֹּ֔קֶר וַיִּפְתַּ֖ח אֶת־ דַּלְת֣וֹת בֵּית־ יְהוָ֑ה וּשְׁמוּאֵ֣ל יָרֵ֔א מֵהַגִּ֥יד אֶת־ הַמַּרְאָ֖ה אֶל־ עֵלִֽי׃

DRB ¹⁶ Et Éli appela Samuel, et [lui] dit : Samuel, mon fils !

KJV ¹⁶ Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

VULC ¹⁶ Vocavit ergo Heli Samuelem, et dixit : Samuel fili mi ? Qui respondens ait : Præsto sum.

WLC ¹⁶ וַיִּקְרָ֤א עֵלִי֙ אֶת־ שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וַיֹּ֖אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֣ל בְּנִ֑י וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הִנֵּֽנִי׃

DRB ¹⁷ Et il dit : Me voici. Et [Éli] dit : Quelle est la parole qu'il t'a dite ? Je te prie, ne me le cache pas. Ainsi Dieu te fasse, et ainsi il y ajoute, si tu me caches quoi que ce soit de toute la parole qu'il t'a dite.

KJV ¹⁷ And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

VULC ¹⁷ Et interrogavit eum : Quis est sermo, quem locutus est Dominus ad te ? oro te ne celaveris me : hæc faciat tibi Deus, et hæc addat, si absconderis a me sermonem ex omnibus verbis quæ dicta sunt tibi.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר מָ֤ה הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֣ר אֵלֶ֔יךָ אַל־ נָ֥א תְכַחֵ֖ד מִמֶּ֑נִּי כֹּ֣ה יַעֲשֶׂה־ לְּךָ֤ אֱלֹהִים֙ וְכֹ֣ה יוֹסִ֔יף אִם־ תְּכַחֵ֤ד מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙ דָּבָ֔ר מִכָּל־ הַדָּבָ֖ר אֲשֶׁר־ דִּבֶּ֥ר אֵלֶֽיךָ׃

DRB ¹⁸ Et Samuel lui rapporta toutes les paroles, et ne les lui cacha pas. Et [Éli] dit : C'est l'Éternel, qu'il fasse ce qui est bon à ses yeux.

KJV ¹⁸ And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.

VULC ¹⁸ Indicavit itaque ei Samuel universos sermones, et non abscondit ab eo. Et ille respondit : Dominus est : quod bonum est in oculis suis faciat.

WLC ¹⁸ וַיַּגֶּד־ ל֤וֹ שְׁמוּאֵל֙ אֶת־ כָּל־ הַדְּבָרִ֔ים וְלֹ֥א כִחֵ֖ד מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וַיֹּאמַ֕ר יְהוָ֣ה ה֔וּא הַטּ֥וֹב בְּעֵינָ֖ו יַעֲשֶֽׂה׃
