2Co 9:5-12 (King James)

⁵ Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
   ⁶ But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. ⁷ Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: ⁹ (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. ¹⁰ Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) ¹¹ Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. ¹² For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

⁵ J'ai donc jugé nécessaire d'encourager les frères à se rendre chez vous avant moi pour s'occuper de l'offrande que vous aviez promise. Ainsi, elle sera prête comme une vraie bénédiction, et non comme une manifestation de votre soif de posséder.
⁶ Sachez-le, celui qui sème peu moissonnera peu et celui qui sème abondamment moissonnera abondamment. ⁷ Que chacun donne comme il l'a décidé dans son cœur, sans regret ni contrainte, car Dieu aime celui qui donne avec joie. ⁸ Dieu peut vous combler de toutes ses grâces afin que vous possédiez toujours à tout point de vue de quoi satisfaire à tous vos besoins et que vous ayez encore en abondance pour toute œuvre bonne, ⁹ comme il est écrit: Il a distribué ses bienfaits, il a donné aux pauvres; sa justice subsiste à toujours. 
¹⁰ Que celui qui fournit de la semence au semeur et du pain pour sa nourriture vous fournisse et vous multiplie la semence, et qu'il augmente les fruits de votre justice. ¹¹ Ainsi vous serez enrichis à tout point de vue pour toutes sortes d'actes de générosité qui, par notre intermédiaire, feront monter des prières de reconnaissance vers Dieu. ¹² En effet, le service de cette collecte ne pourvoit pas seulement aux besoins des saints, il fait aussi abonder les prières de reconnaissance envers Dieu.
