KJV ¹ And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.

KJV ² And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.

NEG ² Il se levait de bon matin, et se tenait au bord du chemin de la porte. Et chaque fois qu'un homme ayant une contestation se rendait vers le roi pour obtenir un jugement, Absalom l'appelait, et disait: De quelle ville es-tu? Lorsqu'il avait répondu: Je suis d'une telle tribu d'Israël,

WLC ² וְהִשְׁכִּים֙ אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם וְעָמַ֕ד עַל־ יַ֖ד דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַשָּׁ֑עַר וַיְהִ֡י כָּל־ הָאִ֣ישׁ אֲשֶֽׁר־ יִהְיֶה־ לּוֹ־ רִיב֩ לָב֨וֹא אֶל־ הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֗ט וַיִּקְרָ֨א אַבְשָׁל֤וֹם אֵלָיו֙ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אֵֽי־ מִזֶּ֥ה עִיר֙ אַ֔תָּה וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מֵאַחַ֥ד שִׁבְטֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃

KJV ³ And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.

NEG ³ Absalom lui disait: Vois, ta cause est bonne et juste; mais personne de chez le roi ne t'écoutera.

WLC ³ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם רְאֵ֥ה דְבָרֶ֖ךָ טוֹבִ֣ים וּנְכֹחִ֑ים וְשֹׁמֵ֥עַ אֵין־ לְךָ֖ מֵאֵ֥ת הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

KJV ⁴ Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!

NEG ⁴ Absalom disait: Qui m'établira juge dans le pays? Tout homme qui aurait une contestation et un procès viendrait à moi et je lui ferais justice.

WLC ⁴ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם מִי־ יְשִׂמֵ֥נִי שֹׁפֵ֖ט בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְעָלַ֗י יָב֥וֹא כָּל־ אִ֛ישׁ אֲשֶֽׁר־ יִהְיֶה־ לּוֹ־ רִ֥יב וּמִשְׁפָּ֖ט וְהִצְדַּקְתִּֽיו׃

KJV ⁵ And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.

NEG ⁵ Et quand quelqu'un s'approchait pour se prosterner devant lui, il lui tendait la main, le saisissait et l'embrassait.

WLC ⁵ וְהָיָה֙ בִּקְרָב־ אִ֔ישׁ לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֖ת ל֑וֹ וְשָׁלַ֧ח אֶת־ יָד֛וֹ וְהֶחֱזִ֥יק ל֖וֹ וְנָ֥שַׁק לֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁶ And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

NEG ⁶ Absalom agissait ainsi à l'égard de tous ceux d'Israël, qui se rendaient vers le roi pour demander justice. Et Absalom gagnait le cœur des gens d'Israël.

WLC ⁶ וַיַּ֨עַשׂ אַבְשָׁל֜וֹם כַּדָּבָ֤ר הַזֶּה֙ לְכָל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר־ יָבֹ֥אוּ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט אֶל־ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיְגַנֵּב֙ אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם אֶת־ לֵ֖ב אַנְשֵׁ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
