KJV ⁵ And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.

KJV ¹² And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.

OST ¹⁹ Alors David consulta l'Éternel, en disant: Monterai-je contre les Philistins? les livreras-tu entre mes mains? Et l'Éternel répondit à David: Monte; car, certainement je livrerai les Philistins entre tes mains.

WLC ¹⁹ וַיִּשְׁאַ֨ל דָּוִ֤ד בַּֽיהוָה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הַאֶֽעֱלֶה֙ אֶל־ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים הֲתִתְּנֵ֖ם בְּיָדִ֑י וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֤ה אֶל־ דָּוִד֙ עֲלֵ֔ה כִּֽי־ נָתֹ֥ן אֶתֵּ֛ן אֶת־ הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃

KJV ²⁰ And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

OST ²⁰ Alors David vint à Baal-Pératsim, où il les battit; et il dit: L'Éternel a fait écouler mes ennemis devant moi, comme des eaux qui s'écoulent. C'est pourquoi il nomma ce lieu Baal-Pératsim (lieu des ruptures).

WLC ²⁰ וַיָּבֹ֨א דָוִ֥ד בְּבַֽעַל־ פְּרָצִים֮ וַיַּכֵּ֣ם שָׁ֣ם דָּוִד֒ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר פָּרַ֨ץ יְהוָ֧ה אֶת־ אֹיְבַ֛י לְפָנַ֖י כְּפֶ֣רֶץ מָ֑יִם עַל־ כֵּ֗ן קָרָ֛א שֵֽׁם־ הַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא בַּ֥עַל פְּרָצִֽים׃

KJV ²¹ And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

OST ²¹ Et ils laissèrent même là leurs idoles, que David et ses gens emportèrent.

WLC ²¹ וַיַּעַזְבוּ־ שָׁ֖ם אֶת־ עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֑ם וַיִּשָּׂאֵ֥ם דָּוִ֖ד וַאֲנָשָֽׁיו׃

KJV ²² And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

OST ²² Puis les Philistins montèrent encore une fois, et ils se répandirent dans la vallée des Géants;

WLC ²² וַיֹּסִ֥פוּ ע֛וֹד פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים לַֽעֲל֑וֹת וַיִּנָּֽטְשׁ֖וּ בְּעֵ֥מֶק רְפָאִֽים׃

KJV ²³ And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

OST ²³ Et David consulta l'Éternel, qui répondit: Tu ne monteras pas; tu les tourneras par derrière, et tu iras contre eux vis-à-vis des mûriers.

WLC ²³ וַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל דָּוִד֙ בַּֽיהוָ֔ה וַיֹּ֖אמֶר לֹ֣א תַעֲלֶ֑ה הָסֵב֙ אֶל־ אַ֣חֲרֵיהֶ֔ם וּבָ֥אתָ לָהֶ֖ם מִמּ֥וּל בְּכָאִֽים׃

KJV ²⁴ And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

OST ²⁴ Et quand tu entendras un bruit de pas au sommet des mûriers, alors hâte-toi; car alors l'Éternel sortira devant toi pour frapper le camp des Philistins.

WLC ²⁴ וִ֠יהִי אֶת־ ק֧וֹל צְעָדָ֛ה בְּרָאשֵׁ֥י הַבְּכָאִ֖ים אָ֣ז תֶּחֱרָ֑ץ כִּ֣י אָ֗ז יָצָ֤א יְהוָה֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ לְהַכּ֖וֹת בְּמַחֲנֵ֥ה פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃

KJV ²⁵ And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

OST ²⁵ David fit donc ce que l'Éternel lui avait commandé; et il battit les Philistins depuis Guéba jusqu'à Guézer.

WLC ²⁵ וַיַּ֤עַשׂ דָּוִד֙ כֵּ֔ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖הוּ יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים מִגֶּ֖בַע עַד־ בֹּאֲךָ֥ גָֽזֶר׃
