DRB ⁴ Et il arriva, cette nuit-là, que la parole de l'Éternel vint à Nathan, disant :

KJV ⁴ And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,

VULC ⁴ Factum est autem in illa nocte : et ecce sermo Domini ad Nathan, dicens :

WLC ⁴ וַיְהִ֖י בַּלַּ֣יְלָה הַה֑וּא וַֽיְהִי֙ דְּבַר־ יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־ נָתָ֖ן לֵאמֹֽר׃

DRB ⁵ Va, et dis à mon serviteur, à David : Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Me bâtirais-tu une maison pour que j'y habite ?

KJV ⁵ Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

VULC ⁵ Vade, et loquere ad servum meum David : Hæc dicit Dominus : Numquid tu ædificabis mihi domum ad habitandum ?

WLC ⁵ לֵ֤ךְ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ אֶל־ עַבְדִּ֣י אֶל־ דָּוִ֔ד כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה הַאַתָּ֛ה תִּבְנֶה־ לִּ֥י בַ֖יִת לְשִׁבְתִּֽי׃

DRB ⁶ car je n'ai pas habité dans une maison, depuis le jour où j'ai fait monter les fils d'Israël hors d'Égypte, jusqu'à ce jour ; mais j'ai marché çà et là dans une tente et dans un tabernacle.

KJV ⁶ Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

VULC ⁶ Neque enim habitavi in domo ex die illa, qua eduxi filios Israël de terra Ægypti, usque in diem hanc : sed ambulabam in tabernaculo, et in tentorio.

WLC ⁶ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָשַׁ֙בְתִּי֙ בְּבַ֔יִת לְ֠מִיּוֹם הַעֲלֹתִ֞י אֶת־ בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם וְעַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וָאֶֽהְיֶה֙ מִתְהַלֵּ֔ךְ בְּאֹ֖הֶל וּבְמִשְׁכָּֽן׃

DRB ⁷ Partout où j'ai marché au milieu de tous les fils d'Israël, ai-je dit un mot à quelqu'une des tribus d'Israël à laquelle j'ai commandé de paître mon peuple Israël, en disant : Pourquoi ne me bâtissez-vous pas une maison de cèdres ?

KJV ⁷ In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

VULC ⁷ Per cuncta loca quæ transivi cum omnibus filiis Israël, numquid loquens locutus sum ad unam de tribubus Israël, cui præcepi ut pasceret populum meum Israël, dicens : Quare non ædificastis mihi domum cedrinam ?

WLC ⁷ בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶֽׁר־ הִתְהַלַּכְתִּי֮ בְּכָל־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ הֲדָבָ֣ר דִּבַּ֗רְתִּי אֶת־ אַחַד֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֗יתִי לִרְע֛וֹת אֶת־ עַמִּ֥י אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר לָ֛מָּה לֹֽא־ בְנִיתֶ֥ם לִ֖י בֵּ֥ית אֲרָזִֽים׃

DRB ⁸ Et maintenant tu diras ainsi à mon serviteur, à David : Ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées : Je t'ai pris des parcs, d'auprès du menu bétail, pour que tu fusses prince sur mon peuple, sur Israël ;

KJV ⁸ Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

VULC ⁸ Et nunc hæc dices servo meo David : Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Ego tuli te de pascuis sequentem greges, ut esses dux super populum meum Israël :

WLC ⁸ וְ֠עַתָּה כֹּֽה־ תֹאמַ֞ר לְעַבְדִּ֣י לְדָוִ֗ד כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת אֲנִ֤י לְקַחְתִּ֙יךָ֙ מִן־ הַנָּוֶ֔ה מֵאַחַ֖ר הַצֹּ֑אן לִֽהְי֣וֹת נָגִ֔יד עַל־ עַמִּ֖י עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

DRB ⁹ et j'ai été avec toi partout où tu as marché ; et j'ai retranché tous tes ennemis de devant toi, et je t'ai fait un grand nom, comme le nom des grands qui sont sur la terre.

KJV ⁹ And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

VULC ⁹ et fui tecum in omnibus ubicumque ambulasti, et interfeci universos inimicos tuos a facie tua : fecique tibi nomen grande, juxta nomen magnorum qui sunt in terra.

WLC ⁹ וָאֶהְיֶ֣ה עִמְּךָ֗ בְּכֹל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָלַ֔כְתָּ וָאַכְרִ֥תָה אֶת־ כָּל־ אֹיְבֶ֖יךָ מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ וְעָשִׂ֤תִֽי לְךָ֙ שֵׁ֣ם גָּד֔וֹל כְּשֵׁ֥ם הַגְּדֹלִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

DRB ¹⁰ Et j'ai établi un lieu à mon peuple, à Israël, et je le planterai, et il habitera chez lui, et ne sera plus agité ; et les fils d'iniquité ne l'affligeront plus comme au commencement,

KJV ¹⁰ Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

VULC ¹⁰ Et ponam locum populo meo Israël, et plantabo eum, et habitabit sub eo, et non turbabitur amplius : nec addent filii iniquitatis ut affligant eum sicut prius,

WLC ¹⁰ וְשַׂמְתִּ֣י מָ֠קוֹם לְעַמִּ֨י לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל וּנְטַעְתִּיו֙ וְשָׁכַ֣ן תַּחְתָּ֔יו וְלֹ֥א יִרְגַּ֖ז ע֑וֹד וְלֹֽא־ יֹסִ֤יפוּ בְנֵֽי־ עַוְלָה֙ לְעַנּוֹת֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר בָּרִאשׁוֹנָֽה׃

DRB ¹¹ et depuis le jour où j'ai établi* des juges sur mon peuple Israël. Et je t'ai donné du repos de tous tes ennemis ; et l'Éternel t'annonce que l'Éternel te fera une maison.

KJV ¹¹ And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

VULC ¹¹ ex die qua constitui judices super populum meum Israël : et requiem dabo tibi ab omnibus inimicis tuis : prædicitque tibi Dominus quod domum faciat tibi Dominus.

WLC ¹¹ וּלְמִן־ הַיּ֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוִּ֤יתִי שֹֽׁפְטִים֙ עַל־ עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַהֲנִיחֹ֥תִי לְךָ֖ מִכָּל־ אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ וְהִגִּ֤יד לְךָ֙ יְהוָ֔ה כִּי־ בַ֖יִת יַעֲשֶׂה־ לְּךָ֥ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ¹² Quand tes jours seront accomplis et que tu dormiras avec tes pères, je susciterai après toi ta semence qui sortira de tes entrailles, et j'affermirai son royaume.

KJV ¹² And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

VULC ¹² Cumque completi fuerint dies tui, et dormieris cum patribus tuis, suscitabo semen tuum post te, quod egredietur de utero tuo, et firmabo regnum ejus.

WLC ¹² כִּ֣י ׀ יִמְלְא֣וּ יָמֶ֗יךָ וְשָֽׁכַבְתָּ֙ אֶת־ אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ וַהֲקִימֹתִ֤י אֶֽת־ זַרְעֲךָ֙ אַחֲרֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֵצֵ֖א מִמֵּעֶ֑יךָ וַהֲכִינֹתִ֖י אֶת־ מַמְלַכְתּֽוֹ׃

DRB ¹³ Lui, bâtira une maison à* mon nom ; et j'affermirai le trône de son royaume pour toujours.

KJV ¹³ He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

VULC ¹³ Ipse ædificabit domum nomini meo, et stabiliam thronum regni ejus usque in sempiternum.

WLC ¹³ ה֥וּא יִבְנֶה־ בַּ֖יִת לִשְׁמִ֑י וְכֹנַנְתִּ֛י אֶת־ כִּסֵּ֥א מַמְלַכְתּ֖וֹ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁴ Moi, je lui serai pour père, et lui me sera pour fils : s'il commet l'iniquité, je le châtierai avec une verge d'hommes et avec des plaies des fils des hommes ;

KJV ¹⁴ I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

VULC ¹⁴ Ego ero ei in patrem, et ipse erit mihi in filium : qui si inique aliquid gesserit, arguam eum in virga virorum, et in plagis filiorum hominum.

WLC ¹⁴ אֲנִי֙ אֶהְיֶה־ לּ֣וֹ לְאָ֔ב וְה֖וּא יִהְיֶה־ לִּ֣י לְבֵ֑ן אֲשֶׁר֙ בְּהַ֣עֲוֺת֔וֹ וְהֹֽכַחְתִּיו֙ בְּשֵׁ֣בֶט אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וּבְנִגְעֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁵ mais ma bonté ne se retirera point de lui, comme je l'ai retirée d'avec Saül que j'ai ôté de devant toi.

KJV ¹⁵ But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

VULC ¹⁵ Misericordiam autem meam non auferam ab eo, sicut abstuli a Saul, quem amovi a facie mea.

WLC ¹⁵ וְחַסְדִּ֖י לֹא־ יָס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֲסִרֹ֙תִי֙ מֵעִ֣ם שָׁא֔וּל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֲסִרֹ֖תִי מִלְּפָנֶֽיךָ׃

DRB ¹⁶ Et ta maison et ton royaume seront rendus stables à toujours devant toi, ton trône sera affermi pour toujours.

KJV ¹⁶ And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

VULC ¹⁶ Et fidelis erit domus tua, et regnum tuum usque in æternum ante faciem tuam, et thronus tuus erit firmus jugiter.

WLC ¹⁶ וְנֶאְמַ֨ן בֵּיתְךָ֧ וּמַֽמְלַכְתְּךָ֛ עַד־ עוֹלָ֖ם לְפָנֶ֑יךָ כִּֽסְאֲךָ֔ יִהְיֶ֥ה נָכ֖וֹן עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁷ Nathan parla ainsi à David, selon toutes ces paroles et selon toute cette vision.

KJV ¹⁷ According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

VULC ¹⁷ Secundum omnia verba hæc, et juxta universam visionem istam, sic locutus est Nathan ad David.

WLC ¹⁷ כְּכֹל֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וּכְכֹ֖ל הַחִזָּי֣וֹן הַזֶּ֑ה כֵּ֛ן דִּבֶּ֥ר נָתָ֖ן אֶל־ דָּוִֽד׃
