KJV ⁴ And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,

WLC ⁴ וַיְהִ֖י בַּלַּ֣יְלָה הַה֑וּא וַֽיְהִי֙ דְּבַר־ יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־ נָתָ֖ן לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ⁵ Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

S21 ⁵ «Va annoncer à mon serviteur David: ‘Voici ce que dit l'Eternel: Est-ce à toi de me construire une maison pour que j'y habite?

WLC ⁵ לֵ֤ךְ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ אֶל־ עַבְדִּ֣י אֶל־ דָּוִ֔ד כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה הַאַתָּ֛ה תִּבְנֶה־ לִּ֥י בַ֖יִת לְשִׁבְתִּֽי׃

KJV ⁶ Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

S21 ⁶ En effet, je n'ai pas habité dans une maison depuis le jour où j'ai fait sortir les Israélites d'Egypte jusqu'à aujourd'hui. J'ai voyagé sous une tente, dans un tabernacle.

WLC ⁶ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָשַׁ֙בְתִּי֙ בְּבַ֔יִת לְ֠מִיּוֹם הַעֲלֹתִ֞י אֶת־ בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם וְעַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וָאֶֽהְיֶה֙ מִתְהַלֵּ֔ךְ בְּאֹ֖הֶל וּבְמִשְׁכָּֽן׃

KJV ⁷ In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

S21 ⁷ Partout où j'ai marché avec tous les Israélites, ai-je une seule fois dit à l'une des tribus d'Israël que j'avais désignée pour diriger mon peuple, Israël: Pourquoi ne me construisez-vous pas une maison en cèdre?'

WLC ⁷ בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶֽׁר־ הִתְהַלַּכְתִּי֮ בְּכָל־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ הֲדָבָ֣ר דִּבַּ֗רְתִּי אֶת־ אַחַד֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֗יתִי לִרְע֛וֹת אֶת־ עַמִּ֥י אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר לָ֛מָּה לֹֽא־ בְנִיתֶ֥ם לִ֖י בֵּ֥ית אֲרָזִֽים׃

KJV ⁸ Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

S21 ⁸ Annonce maintenant à mon serviteur David: ‘Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers: Je t'ai pris au pâturage, derrière les brebis, pour que tu sois chef sur mon peuple, sur Israël.

WLC ⁸ וְ֠עַתָּה כֹּֽה־ תֹאמַ֞ר לְעַבְדִּ֣י לְדָוִ֗ד כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת אֲנִ֤י לְקַחְתִּ֙יךָ֙ מִן־ הַנָּוֶ֔ה מֵאַחַ֖ר הַצֹּ֑אן לִֽהְי֣וֹת נָגִ֔יד עַל־ עַמִּ֖י עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ⁹ And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

S21 ⁹ Je t'ai accompagné partout où tu as marché, j'ai éliminé tous tes ennemis devant toi et j'ai rendu ton nom aussi grand que celui des grands de la terre.

WLC ⁹ וָאֶהְיֶ֣ה עִמְּךָ֗ בְּכֹל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָלַ֔כְתָּ וָאַכְרִ֥תָה אֶת־ כָּל־ אֹיְבֶ֖יךָ מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ וְעָשִׂ֤תִֽי לְךָ֙ שֵׁ֣ם גָּד֔וֹל כְּשֵׁ֥ם הַגְּדֹלִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ¹⁰ Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

S21 ¹⁰ J'ai donné un lieu de résidence à mon peuple, à Israël, je l'ai planté pour qu'il y soit fixé et ne soit plus agité, pour que les méchants ne l'oppriment plus comme par le passé,

WLC ¹⁰ וְשַׂמְתִּ֣י מָ֠קוֹם לְעַמִּ֨י לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל וּנְטַעְתִּיו֙ וְשָׁכַ֣ן תַּחְתָּ֔יו וְלֹ֥א יִרְגַּ֖ז ע֑וֹד וְלֹֽא־ יֹסִ֤יפוּ בְנֵֽי־ עַוְלָה֙ לְעַנּוֹת֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר בָּרִאשׁוֹנָֽה׃

KJV ¹¹ And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

S21 ¹¹ comme à l'époque où j'avais établi des juges sur mon peuple, sur Israël. Je t'ai accordé du repos en te délivrant de tous tes ennemis. De plus, l'Eternel t'annonce qu'il va te faire lui-même une maison:

WLC ¹¹ וּלְמִן־ הַיּ֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוִּ֤יתִי שֹֽׁפְטִים֙ עַל־ עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַהֲנִיחֹ֥תִי לְךָ֖ מִכָּל־ אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ וְהִגִּ֤יד לְךָ֙ יְהוָ֔ה כִּי־ בַ֖יִת יַעֲשֶׂה־ לְּךָ֥ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹² And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

S21 ¹² quand ta vie prendra fin et que tu seras couché avec tes ancêtres, je ferai surgir après toi ton descendant, celui qui sera issu de toi, et j'affermirai son règne.

WLC ¹² כִּ֣י ׀ יִמְלְא֣וּ יָמֶ֗יךָ וְשָֽׁכַבְתָּ֙ אֶת־ אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ וַהֲקִימֹתִ֤י אֶֽת־ זַרְעֲךָ֙ אַחֲרֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֵצֵ֖א מִמֵּעֶ֑יךָ וַהֲכִינֹתִ֖י אֶת־ מַמְלַכְתּֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹³ He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

S21 ¹³ Ce sera lui qui construira une maison en l'honneur de mon nom, et j'affermirai pour toujours le trône de son royaume.

WLC ¹³ ה֥וּא יִבְנֶה־ בַּ֖יִת לִשְׁמִ֑י וְכֹנַנְתִּ֛י אֶת־ כִּסֵּ֥א מַמְלַכְתּ֖וֹ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁴ I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

S21 ¹⁴ *Je serai pour lui un père et il sera pour moi un fils. S'il fait le mal, je le punirai avec le bâton des hommes, avec les coups des humains,

WLC ¹⁴ אֲנִי֙ אֶהְיֶה־ לּ֣וֹ לְאָ֔ב וְה֖וּא יִהְיֶה־ לִּ֣י לְבֵ֑ן אֲשֶׁר֙ בְּהַ֣עֲוֺת֔וֹ וְהֹֽכַחְתִּיו֙ בְּשֵׁ֣בֶט אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וּבְנִגְעֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁵ But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

S21 ¹⁵ mais je ne lui retirerai pas ma grâce comme je l'ai fait avec Saül, que j'ai écarté de ton chemin.

WLC ¹⁵ וְחַסְדִּ֖י לֹא־ יָס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֲסִרֹ֙תִי֙ מֵעִ֣ם שָׁא֔וּל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֲסִרֹ֖תִי מִלְּפָנֶֽיךָ׃

KJV ¹⁶ And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

S21 ¹⁶ Ta maison et ton règne seront assurés pour toujours après toi, ton trône sera affermi pour toujours.'»

WLC ¹⁶ וְנֶאְמַ֨ן בֵּיתְךָ֧ וּמַֽמְלַכְתְּךָ֛ עַד־ עוֹלָ֖ם לְפָנֶ֑יךָ כִּֽסְאֲךָ֔ יִהְיֶ֥ה נָכ֖וֹן עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁷ According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

S21 ¹⁷ Nathan rapporta toutes ces paroles et toute cette vision à David.

WLC ¹⁷ כְּכֹל֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וּכְכֹ֖ל הַחִזָּי֣וֹן הַזֶּ֑ה כֵּ֛ן דִּבֶּ֥ר נָתָ֖ן אֶל־ דָּוִֽד׃
