Ac 1:1-5 (King James)

   ¹ The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, ² Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: ³ To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: ⁴ And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. ⁵ For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

   ¹ Nous avons rempli le premier traité, Théophile ! de toutes les choses que Jésus a faites et enseignées ; ² Jusqu'au jour qu'il fut élevé [au ciel] ; après avoir donné par le Saint-Esprit ses ordres aux Apôtres qu'il avait élus. ³ A qui aussi, après avoir souffert, il se présenta soi-même vivant, avec plusieurs preuves assurées, étant vu par eux durant quarante jours, et leur parlant des choses qui regardent le Royaume de Dieu. ⁴ Et les ayant assemblés, il leur commanda de ne partir point de Jérusalem, mais [d'y] attendre [l'effet de] la promesse du Père, laquelle, [dit-il], vous avez ouïe de moi. ⁵ Car Jean a baptisé d'eau, mais vous serez baptisés du Saint-Esprit, dans peu de jours.
