² And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, ³ And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee. ⁴ Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

² Étienne répondit: Hommes frères et pères, écoutez ! Le Dieu de gloire apparut à notre père Abraham, lorsqu'il était en Mésopotamie, avant qu'il s'établît à Charran ; et il lui dit: ³ Quitte ton pays et ta famille, et va dans le pays que je te montrerai. ⁴ Il sortit alors du pays des Chaldéens, et s'établit à Charran. De là, après la mort de son père, Dieu le fit passer dans ce pays que vous habitez maintenant ;

Le Dieu de gloire est apparu à notre ancêtre Abraham lorsqu'il était en Mésopotamie, avant qu'il ne s'installe à Charan, et lui a dit: ³ Quitte ton pays et ta famille et va dans le pays que je te montrerai.  ⁴ Il a alors quitté le pays des Chaldéens et est allé habiter à Charan. De là, après la mort de son père, Dieu l'a fait passer dans le pays que vous habitez maintenant.

   ³ et dixit ad illum : Exi de terra tua, et de cognatione tua, et veni in terram quam monstravero tibi.
   ⁴ Tunc exiit de terra Chaldæorum, et habitavit in Charan. Et inde, postquam mortuus est pater ejus, transtulit illum in terram istam, in qua nunc vos habitatis.
