BCC ⁹ Ils prirent la parole et dirent au roi Nabuchodonosor : « ô roi, vis à jamais !

KJV ⁹ They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.

BCC ¹¹ et que quiconque ne se prosternera pas pour l'adorer sera jeté au milieu de la fournaise de feu ardent.

KJV ¹¹ And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

VULC ¹¹ si quis autem non procidens adoraverit, mittatur in fornacem ignis ardentis.

WLC ¹¹ וּמַן־ דִּי־ לָ֥א יִפֵּ֖ל וְיִסְגֻּ֑ד יִתְרְמֵ֕א לְגֽוֹא־ אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃

BCC ¹² Or, il y a des juifs que tu as préposés aux affaires de la province de Babylone, Sidrac, Misac et Abdénago : ces hommes-là n'ont pas d'égard pour toi, ô roi ; ils ne servent pas tes dieux et ils ne se prosternent pas devant la statue d'or que tu as dressée. »

KJV ¹² There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

BCC ¹³ Alors Nabuchodonosor, irrité et furieux, ordonna d'amener Sidrac, Misac, et Abdénago ; et ces hommes furent amenés devant le roi.

KJV ¹³ Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.

VULC ¹³ Tunc Nabuchodonosor, in furore et in ira, præcepit ut adducerentur Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago : qui confestim adducti sunt in conspectu regis.

BCC ¹⁴ Nabuchodonosor prit la parole et leur dit : « Est-ce à dessein, Sidrac, Misac et Abdénago, que vous ne servez pas mon dieu et que vous n'adorez pas la statue d'or que j'ai dressée !

KJV ¹⁴ Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

VULC ¹⁴ Pronuntiansque Nabuchodonosor rex, ait eis : Verene Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago, deos meos non colitis, et statuam auream, quam constitui, non adoratis ?

BCC ¹⁵ Maintenant si vous êtes prêts, au moment où vous entendrez le son de la trompette, du chalumeau, de la cithare, de la sambuque, du psaltérion, de la cornemuse et de toutes les sortes d'instruments, à vous prosterner pour adorer la statue que j'ai faite... Mais si vous ne l'adorez pas, vous serez jetés à l'instant même au milieu de la fournaise de feu ardent, et quel est le dieu qui vous délivrera de ma main ? »

KJV ¹⁵ Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

BCC ¹⁶ Sidrac, Misac et Abdénago répondirent au roi et dirent : « Nabuchodonosor, sur ce point nous n'avons pas besoin de t'adresser une réponse ;

KJV ¹⁶ Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

VULC ¹⁶ Respondentes Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago, dixerunt regi Nabuchodonosor : Non oportet nos de hac re respondere tibi.

WLC ¹⁶ עֲנ֗וֹ שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ וְאָמְרִ֖ין לְמַלְכָּ֑א נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֔ר לָֽא־ חַשְׁחִ֨ין אֲנַ֧חְנָה עַל־ דְּנָ֛ה פִּתְגָ֖ם לַהֲתָבוּתָֽךְ׃

BCC ¹⁷ si vraiment notre Dieu que nous servons peut nous délivrer, il nous délivrera de la fournaise de feu ardent et de ta main, ô roi.

KJV ¹⁷ If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

VULC ¹⁷ Ecce enim Deus noster, quem colimus, potest eripere nos de camino ignis ardentis, et de manibus tuis, o rex, liberare.

BCC ¹⁸ Sinon, qu'il soit connu de toi, ô roi, que nous ne servirons pas tes dieux et que nous ne nous prosternerons pas devant la statue d'or que tu as dressée. »

KJV ¹⁸ But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

WLC ¹⁸ וְהֵ֣ן לָ֔א יְדִ֥יעַ לֶהֱוֵא־ לָ֖ךְ מַלְכָּ֑א דִּ֤י לָא־ פָֽלְחִ֔ין וּלְצֶ֧לֶם דַּהֲבָ֛א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ימְתָּ לָ֥א נִסְגֻּֽד׃

BCC ¹⁹ Alors Nabuchodonosor fut rempli de fureur, et l'aspect de son visage fut changé envers Sidrac, Misac, et Abdénago. Reprenant la parole, il ordonna de chauffer la fournaise sept fois plus qu'on n'avait jugé convenable de le faire,

KJV ¹⁹ Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

VULC ¹⁹ Tunc Nabuchodonosor repletus est furore, et aspectus faciei illius immutatus est super Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago : et præcepit ut succenderetur fornax septuplum quam succendi consueverat.

BCC ²⁰ et il commanda à quelques-uns des plus vigoureux soldats qui étaient dans son armée de lier Sidrac, Misac et Abdénago et de les jeter dans la fournaise de feu ardent.

KJV ²⁰ And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

VULC ²⁰ Et viris fortissimis de exercitu suo jussit ut ligatis pedibus Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago, mitterent eos in fornacem ignis ardentis.

BCC ²¹ Alors ces hommes, avec leurs tuniques, leurs robes, leurs mantaux et leurs autres vêtements, furent liés et jetés dans la fournaise de feu ardent.

KJV ²¹ Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

VULC ²¹ Et confestim viri illi vincti, cum braccis suis, et tiaris, et calceamentis, et vestibus, missi sunt in medium fornacis ignis ardentis :

WLC ²¹ בֵּאדַ֜יִן גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֗ךְ כְּפִ֙תוּ֙ בְּסַרְבָּלֵיהוֹן֙ וְכַרְבְּלָתְה֖וֹן וּלְבֻשֵׁיה֑וֹן וּרְמִ֕יו לְגֽוֹא־ אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃

BCC ²² Comme l'ordre du roi était pressant et la fournaise extraordinairement chauffée, la flamme de feu tua ces hommes qui y avaient jeté Sidrac, Misac et Abdénago.

KJV ²² Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

BCC ²³ Et ces trois hommes, Sidrac, Misse et Abdénago tombèrent au milieu de la fournaise ardente, tout liés.

KJV ²³ And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

BCC ²⁴ Alors le roi Nabuchodonosor fut dans la stupeur et se leva précipitamment. Il prit la parole et dit à ses conseillers « N'avons-nous pas jeté au milieu du feu trois hommes liés ?« Ils répondirent et dirent au roi : »Certainement, ô roi ! »

KJV ²⁴ Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

BCC ²⁵ Il reprit et dit : »Eh bien, moi, je vois quatre hommes sans liens, marchant au milieu du feu et n'ayant aucun mal ; l'aspect du quatrième ressemble à celui d'un fils des dieux. »

KJV ²⁵ He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

BCC ²⁶ Puis Nabuchodonosor s'approcha de la porte de la fournaise de feu ardent ; il prit la parole et dit : « Sidrac, Misac et Abdénago, serviteurs du Dieu Très Haut, sortez et venez ! « Alors Sidrac, Misac et Abdénago sortirent du milieu du feu.

KJV ²⁶ Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

BCC ²⁷ Les satrapes, les intendants, les gouverneurs et les conseillers du roi, s'étant rassemblés, regardèrent ces hommes et virent que le feu n'avait eu aucun pouvoir sur leur corps, que les cheveux de leur tête n'avaient pas été brûlés, que leurs tuniques n'avaient pas subi de changement et qu'elles n'avaient pas l'odeur du feu.

KJV ²⁷ And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

BCC ²⁸ Nabuchodonosor prit la parole et dit : « Béni soit le Dieu de Sidrac, de Misac et d'Abdénago, lequel a envoyé son ange et délivré ses serviteurs qui se sont confiés en lui, qui ont transgressé l'ordre du roi et livré leur corps, pour ne servir et adorer aucun dieu sinon leur Dieu.

KJV ²⁸ Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

juxta omnia, quæ induxisti super nos,

BCC ²⁹ Ordre est donné de ma part que tout homme, à quelque peuple, nation ou langue qu'il appartienne, qui parlera mal du Dieu de Sidrac, de Misac et d'Abnénago sera coupé en morceaux et sa maison sera réduite en cloaque, parce qu'il n'y a pas d'autre dieu qui puisse sauver de la sorte.

KJV ²⁹ Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

WLC ²⁹ וּמִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּי֩ כָל־ עַ֨ם אֻמָּ֜ה וְלִשָּׁ֗ן דִּֽי־ יֵאמַ֤ר עַ֣ל אֱלָהֲה֗וֹן דִּֽי־ שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹא הַדָּמִ֣ין יִתְעֲבֵ֔ד וּבַיְתֵ֖הּ נְוָלִ֣י יִשְׁתַּוֵּ֑ה כָּל־ קֳבֵ֗ל דִּ֣י לָ֤א אִיתַי֙ אֱלָ֣ה אָחֳרָ֔ן דִּֽי־ יִכֻּ֥ל לְהַצָּלָ֖ה כִּדְנָֽה׃

KJV ³⁰ Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.
