BCC ² Excité par le vin, Baltasar fit apporter les vases d'or et d'argent que Nabuchodonosor, son père, avait enlevés du temple qui est à Jérusalem, afin que le roi et ses princes, ses femmes et ses concubines, s'en servissent pour boire.

KJV ² Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.

WLC ² בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֞ר אֲמַ֣ר ׀ בִּטְעֵ֣ם חַמְרָ֗א לְהַיְתָיָה֙ לְמָאנֵי֙ דַּהֲבָ֣א וְכַסְפָּ֔א דִּ֤י הַנְפֵּק֙ נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר אֲב֔וּהִי מִן־ הֵיכְלָ֖א דִּ֣י בִירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וְיִשְׁתּ֣וֹן בְּה֗וֹן מַלְכָּא֙ וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי שֵׁגְלָתֵ֖הּ וּלְחֵנָתֵֽהּ׃

BCC ³ Alors on apporta les vases d'or qui avaient été enlevés du temple de la maison de Dieu qui est à Jérusalem, et le roi et ses princes, ses femmes et ses concubines s'en servirent pour boire.

KJV ³ Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.

WLC ³ בֵּאדַ֗יִן הַיְתִיו֙ מָאנֵ֣י דַהֲבָ֔א דִּ֣י הַנְפִּ֗קוּ מִן־ הֵֽיכְלָ֛א דִּֽי־ בֵ֥ית אֱלָהָ֖א דִּ֣י בִירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וְאִשְׁתִּ֣יו בְּה֗וֹן מַלְכָּא֙ וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי שֵׁגְלָתֵ֖הּ וּלְחֵנָתֵֽהּ׃

BCC ⁴ Ils burent du vin, et ils louèrent les dieux d'or et d'argent, d'airain, de fer, de bois et de pierre.

KJV ⁴ They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

WLC ⁴ אִשְׁתִּ֖יו חַמְרָ֑א וְ֠שַׁבַּחוּ לֵֽאלָהֵ֞י דַּהֲבָ֧א וְכַסְפָּ֛א נְחָשָׁ֥א פַרְזְלָ֖א אָעָ֥א וְאַבְנָֽא׃

BCC ⁵ A ce moment apparurent des doigts de main humaine qui écrivaient, en face du candélabre, sur la chaux de la muraille du palais royal ; et le roi vit le bout de la main qui écrivait.

KJV ⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.

WLC ⁵ בַּהּ־ שַׁעֲתָ֗ה אֶצְבְּעָן֙ דִּ֣י יַד־ אֱנָ֔שׁ וְכָֽתְבָן֙ לָקֳבֵ֣ל נֶבְרַשְׁתָּ֔א עַל־ גִּירָ֕א דִּֽי־ כְתַ֥ל הֵיכְלָ֖א דִּ֣י מַלְכָּ֑א וּמַלְכָּ֣א חָזֵ֔ה פַּ֥ס יְדָ֖ה דִּ֥י כָתְבָֽה׃

BCC ⁶ Alors le roi changea de couleur, et ses pensées le troublèrent ; les jointures de ses reins se relâchèrent et ses genoux se heurtèrent l'un contre l'autre.

KJV ⁶ Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.

WLC ⁶ אֱדַ֤יִן מַלְכָּא֙ זִיוֺ֣הִי שְׁנ֔וֹהִי וְרַעיֹנֹ֖הִי יְבַהֲלוּנֵּ֑הּ וְקִטְרֵ֤י חַרְצֵהּ֙ מִשְׁתָּרַ֔יִן וְאַ֨רְכֻבָּתֵ֔הּ דָּ֥א לְדָ֖א נָֽקְשָֽׁן׃

BCC ⁷ Le roi cria avec force qu'on fit venir les magiciens, les Chaldéens et les astrologues ; et le roi prit la parole et dit aux sages de Babylone : « Quiconque lira cette écriture et m'en fera connaître la signification, sera revêtu de pourpre et portera au cou une chaîne d'or, et il commandera en troisième dans le royaume. »

KJV ⁷ The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

WLC ⁷ קָרֵ֤א מַלְכָּא֙ בְּחַ֔יִל לְהֶֽעָלָה֙ לְאָ֣שְׁפַיָּ֔א וְגָזְרַיָּ֑א עָנֵ֨ה מַלְכָּ֜א וְאָמַ֣ר ׀ לְחַכִּימֵ֣י בָבֶ֗ל דִּ֣י כָל־ אֱ֠נָשׁ דִּֽי־ יִקְרֵ֞ה כְּתָבָ֣ה דְנָ֗ה וּפִשְׁרֵהּ֙ יְחַוִּנַּ֔נִי אַרְגְּוָנָ֣א יִלְבַּ֗שׁ דִֽי־ דַהֲבָא֙ עַֽל־ צַוְּארֵ֔הּ וְתַלְתִּ֥י בְמַלְכוּתָ֖א יִשְׁלַֽט׃

BCC ⁸ Alors tous les sages du roi entrèrent, mais ils ne purent lire ce qui était écrit, ni en faire savoir la signification au roi.

KJV ⁸ Then came in all the king's wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.

WLC ⁸ אֱדַ֙יִן֙ כֹּ֖ל חַכִּימֵ֣י מַלְכָּ֑א וְלָֽא־ כָהֲלִ֤ין כְּתָבָא֙ לְמִקְרֵ֔א לְהוֹדָעָ֥ה לְמַלְכָּֽא׃

BCC ⁹ Alors le roi Baltasar fut très effrayé ; il changea de couleur, et ses princes furent consternés.

KJV ⁹ Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.

WLC ⁹ אֱ֠דַיִן מַלְכָּ֤א בֵלְשַׁאצַּר֙ שַׂגִּ֣יא מִתְבָּהַ֔ל וְזִיוֺ֖הִי שָׁנַ֣יִן עֲל֑וֹהִי וְרַבְרְבָנ֖וֹהִי מִֽשְׁתַּבְּשִֽׁין׃
