DRB ²³ Mais tu t'es élevé contre le Seigneur des cieux ; et on a apporté devant toi les vases de sa maison, et toi et tes grands, tes femmes et tes concubines, vous y avez bu du vin ; et tu as loué les dieux d'argent et d'or, d'airain, de fer, de bois et de pierre, qui ne voient, et n'entendent, et ne comprennent point ; et le Dieu en la main duquel est ton souffle, et à qui appartiennent toutes tes voies, tu ne l'as pas glorifié.

KJV ²³ But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

WLC ²³ וְעַ֣ל מָרֵֽא־ שְׁמַיָּ֣א ׀ הִתְרוֹמַ֡מְתָּ וּלְמָֽאנַיָּ֨א דִֽי־ בַיְתֵ֜הּ הַיְתִ֣יו שֵֽׁגְלָתָ֣ךְ וּלְחֵנָתָךְ֮ חַמְרָא֮ שָׁתַ֣יִן בְּהוֹן֒ וְלֵֽאלָהֵ֣י כַסְפָּֽא־ וְ֠דַהֲבָא נְחָשָׁ֨א פַרְזְלָ֜א אָעָ֣א וְאַבְנָ֗א דִּ֠י לָֽא־ חָזַ֧יִן וְלָא־ שָׁמְעִ֛ין וְלָ֥א יָדְעִ֖ין שַׁבַּ֑חְתָּ וְלֵֽאלָהָ֞א דִּֽי־ נִשְׁמְתָ֥ךְ בִּידֵ֛הּ וְכָל־ אֹרְחָתָ֥ךְ לֵ֖הּ לָ֥א הַדַּֽרְתָּ׃

KJV ²⁴ Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.

WLC ²⁴ בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ מִן־ קֳדָמ֔וֹהִי שְׁלִ֖יַחַ פַּסָּ֣א דִֽי־ יְדָ֑א וּכְתָבָ֥א דְנָ֖ה רְשִֽׁים׃

DRB ²⁵ Et voici l'écriture qui a été tracée : MENÉ, MENÉ, THEKEL, UPHARSIN* !

KJV ²⁵ And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

WLC ²⁵ וּדְנָ֥ה כְתָבָ֖א דִּ֣י רְשִׁ֑ים מְנֵ֥א מְנֵ֖א תְּקֵ֥ל וּפַרְסִֽין׃

DRB ²⁶ Voici l'interprétation des paroles. MENÉ : Dieu a compté ton royaume, et y a mis fin.

KJV ²⁶ This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

WLC ²⁶ דְּנָ֖ה פְּשַֽׁר־ מִלְּתָ֑א מְנֵ֕א מְנָֽה־ אֱלָהָ֥א מַלְכוּתָ֖ךְ וְהַשְׁלְמַֽהּ׃

DRB ²⁷ THEKEL : Tu as été pesé à la balance, et tu as été trouvé manquant de poids.

KJV ²⁷ TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

WLC ²⁷ תְּקֵ֑ל תְּקִ֥ילְתָּה בְמֹֽאזַנְיָ֖א וְהִשְׁתְּכַ֥חַתְּ חַסִּֽיר׃

DRB ²⁸ PÉRÈS : Ton royaume est divisé, et donné aux Mèdes et aux Perses.

KJV ²⁸ PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

WLC ²⁸ פְּרֵ֑ס פְּרִיסַת֙ מַלְכוּתָ֔ךְ וִיהִיבַ֖ת לְמָדַ֥י וּפָרָֽס׃

DRB ²⁹ Alors Belshatsar donna des ordres*, et on vêtit Daniel de pourpre, et [on mit] une chaîne d'or à son cou, et on proclama qu'il serait le troisième gouverneur dans le royaume.

KJV ²⁹ Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

WLC ²⁹ בֵּאדַ֣יִן ׀ אֲמַ֣ר בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֗ר וְהַלְבִּ֤ישׁוּ לְדָֽנִיֵּאל֙ אַרְגְּוָנָ֔א דִֽי־ דַהֲבָ֖א עַֽל־ צַוְּארֵ֑הּ וְהַכְרִ֣זֽוּ עֲל֔וֹהִי דִּֽי־ לֶהֱוֵ֥א שַׁלִּ֛יט תַּלְתָּ֖א בְּמַלְכוּתָֽא׃

DRB ³⁰ En cette nuit-là, Belshatsar, roi des Chaldéens, fut tué.
