Dt 6:20-25 (Darby)

²⁰ Quand ton fils t'interrogera à l'avenir, disant : Que sont les témoignages, et les statuts et les ordonnances que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, vous a commandés ? ²¹ alors tu diras à ton fils : Nous étions serviteurs du Pharaon en Égypte, et l'Éternel nous a fait sortir d'Égypte à main forte ; ²² et l'Éternel a opéré, devant nos yeux, des signes et des prodiges, grands et accablants, sur l'Égypte, sur le Pharaon, et sur toute sa maison ; ²³ et il nous a fait sortir de là, pour nous faire entrer dans le pays qu'il avait promis par serment à nos pères, pour nous le donner. ²⁴ Et l'Éternel nous a commandé de pratiquer tous ces statuts, de craindre l'Éternel, notre Dieu, pour notre bien, toujours, pour nous conserver en vie, comme [il paraît] aujourd'hui. ²⁵ Et ce sera notre justice, que nous prenions garde à pratiquer tous ces commandements devant l'Éternel, notre Dieu, comme il nous l'a commandé.

²⁰ And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you? ²¹ Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: ²² And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: ²³ And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers. ²⁴ And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. ²⁵ And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

   ²⁰ Cumque interrogaverit te filius tuus cras, dicens : Quid sibi volunt testimonia hæc, et cæremoniæ, atque judicia, quæ præcepit Dominus Deus noster nobis ?
   ²¹ dices ei : Servi eramus Pharaonis in Ægypto, et eduxit nos Dominus de Ægypto in manu forti :
   ²² fecitque signa atque prodigia magna et pessima in Ægypto contra Pharaonem, et omnem domum illius in conspectu nostro,
   ²³ et eduxit nos inde, ut introductis daret terram, super qua juravit patribus nostris.
   ²⁴ Præcepitque nobis Dominus ut faciamus omnia legitima hæc, et timeamus Dominum Deum nostrum, ut bene sit nobis cunctis diebus vitæ nostræ, sicut est hodie.
   ²⁵ Eritque nostri misericors, si custodierimus et fecerimus omnia præcepta ejus coram Domino Deo nostro, sicut mandavit nobis.
