KJV ⁷ Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun.

LSG ⁷ J'ai considéré une autre vanité sous le soleil.

WLC ⁷ וְשַׁ֧בְתִּי אֲנִ֛י וָאֶרְאֶ֥ה הֶ֖בֶל תַּ֥חַת הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃

KJV ⁸ There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

LSG ⁸ Tel homme est seul et sans personne qui lui tienne de près, il n'a ni fils ni frère, et pourtant son travail n'a point de fin et ses yeux ne sont jamais rassasiés de richesses. Pour qui donc est-ce que je travaille, et que je prive mon âme de jouissances ? C'est encore là une vanité et une chose mauvaise.

WLC ⁸ יֵ֣שׁ אֶחָד֩ וְאֵ֨ין שֵׁנִ֜י גַּ֣ם בֵּ֧ן וָאָ֣ח אֵֽין־ ל֗וֹ וְאֵ֥ין קֵץ֙ לְכָל־ עֲמָל֔וֹ גַּם־ לֹא־ תִשְׂבַּ֣ע עֹ֑שֶׁר וּלְמִ֣י ׀ אֲנִ֣י עָמֵ֗ל וּמְחַסֵּ֤ר אֶת־ נַפְשִׁי֙ מִטּוֹבָ֔ה גַּם־ זֶ֥ה הֶ֛בֶל וְעִנְיַ֥ן רָ֖ע הֽוּא׃

KJV ⁹ Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

LSG ⁹ Deux valent mieux qu'un, parce qu'ils retirent un bon salaire de leur travail.

WLC ⁹ טוֹבִ֥ים הַשְּׁנַ֖יִם מִן־ הָאֶחָ֑ד אֲשֶׁ֧ר יֵשׁ־ לָהֶ֛ם שָׂכָ֥ר ט֖וֹב בַּעֲמָלָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁰ For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

LSG ¹⁰ Car, s'ils tombent, l'un relève son compagnon ; mais malheur à celui qui est seul et qui tombe, sans avoir un second pour le relever !

WLC ¹⁰ כִּ֣י אִם־ יִפֹּ֔לוּ הָאֶחָ֖ד יָקִ֣ים אֶת־ חֲבֵר֑וֹ וְאִ֣יל֗וֹ הָֽאֶחָד֙ שֶׁיִּפּ֔וֹל וְאֵ֥ין שֵׁנִ֖י לַהֲקִימֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹¹ Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

LSG ¹¹ De même, si deux couchent ensemble, ils auront chaud ; mais celui qui est seul, comment aura-t-il chaud ?

WLC ¹¹ גַּ֛ם אִם־ יִשְׁכְּב֥וּ שְׁנַ֖יִם וְחַ֣ם לָהֶ֑ם וּלְאֶחָ֖ד אֵ֥יךְ יֵחָֽם׃

KJV ¹² And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

LSG ¹² Et si quelqu'un est plus fort qu'un seul, les deux peuvent lui résister ; et la corde à trois fils ne se rompt pas facilement.

WLC ¹² וְאִֽם־ יִתְקְפוֹ֙ הָאֶחָ֔ד הַשְּׁנַ֖יִם יַעַמְד֣וּ נֶגְדּ֑וֹ וְהַחוּט֙ הַֽמְשֻׁלָּ֔שׁ לֹ֥א בִמְהֵרָ֖ה יִנָּתֵֽק׃
