BAN ¹ Et les ennemis de Juda et de Benjamin apprirent que les exilés bâtissaient un temple à l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël,

KJV ¹ Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel;

BAN ² et ils s'approchèrent de Zorobabel et des chefs de famille et leur dirent : Nous bâtirons avec vous, car comme vous nous invoquerons votre Dieu, bien que nous ne lui ayons pas offert de sacrifices depuis le temps d'Asarhaddon, roi d'Assyrie, qui nous a fait monter ici.

KJV ² Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.

BAN ³ Mais Zorobabel et Josué et les autres chefs de famille d'Israël leur dirent : Ce n'est pas à vous et à nous de bâtir une maison à notre Dieu, car nous seuls nous bâtirons, pour l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, comme nous l'a ordonné le roi Cyrus, roi de Perse.

KJV ³ But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

BAN ⁴ Et les gens du pays se mirent à décourager le peuple de Juda et à l'inquiéter quand il bâtissait,

KJV ⁴ Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,

BAN ⁵ et à gagner à prix d'argent des conseillers pour faire échouer son entreprise. Il en fut ainsi pendant tout le temps de Cyrus, roi de Perse, et jusqu'au règne de Darius, roi de Perse.

KJV ⁵ And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
