KJV ¹ Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel;

S21 ¹ Les ennemis de Juda et de Benjamin apprirent que les Juifs issus de l'exil construisaient un temple en l'honneur de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.

KJV ² Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.

S21 ² Ils vinrent alors trouver Zorobabel et les chefs de famille pour leur dire: «Nous voulons construire avec vous. En effet, nous adorons votre Dieu, comme vous, et c'est à lui que nous offrons des sacrifices depuis l'époque où Esar-Haddon, roi d'Assyrie, nous a fait monter ici.»

KJV ³ But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

S21 ³ Mais Zorobabel, Josué et le reste des chefs de famille d'Israël leur répondirent: «Ce n'est pas ensemble que nous devons construire une maison pour notre Dieu; nous la construirons tout seuls à l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, comme nous l'a ordonné le roi Cyrus, roi de Perse.»

KJV ⁴ Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,

S21 ⁴ Alors les populations du pays découragèrent le peuple juif; elles l'intimidèrent pour l'empêcher de construire

KJV ⁵ And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

S21 ⁵ et elles soudoyèrent des conseillers pour faire échouer son entreprise. Ces manœuvres durèrent toute la vie de Cyrus, roi de Perse, et jusqu'au règne de Darius sur la Perse.
