KJV ⁷ If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.

LSG ⁷ Si un homme donne à un autre de l'argent ou des objets à garder, et qu'on les vole dans la maison de ce dernier, le voleur fera une restitution au double, dans le cas où il serait trouvé.

WLC ⁷ אִם־ לֹ֤א יִמָּצֵא֙ הַגַּנָּ֔ב וְנִקְרַ֥ב בַּֽעַל־ הַבַּ֖יִת אֶל־ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים אִם־ לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֛ח יָד֖וֹ בִּמְלֶ֥אכֶת רֵעֵֽהוּ׃

KJV ⁸ If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.

LSG ⁸ Si le voleur ne se trouve pas, le maître de la maison se présentera devant Dieu, pour déclarer qu'il n'a pas mis la main sur le bien de son prochain.

WLC ⁸ עַֽל־ כָּל־ דְּבַר־ פֶּ֡שַׁע עַל־ שׁ֡וֹר עַל־ חֲ֠מוֹר עַל־ שֶׂ֨ה עַל־ שַׂלְמָ֜ה עַל־ כָּל־ אֲבֵדָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר יֹאמַר֙ כִּי־ ה֣וּא זֶ֔ה עַ֚ד הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים יָבֹ֖א דְּבַר־ שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר יַרְשִׁיעֻן֙ אֱלֹהִ֔ים יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם שְׁנַ֖יִם לְרֵעֵֽהוּ׃

KJV ⁹ For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

LSG ⁹ Dans toute affaire frauduleuse concernant un boeuf, un âne, un agneau, un vêtement, ou un objet perdu, au sujet duquel on dira: C'est cela ! -la cause des deux parties ira jusqu'à Dieu ; celui que Dieu condamnera fera à son prochain une restitution au double.

KJV ¹⁰ If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:

WLC ¹⁰ שְׁבֻעַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה תִּהְיֶה֙ בֵּ֣ין שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם אִם־ לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֛ח יָד֖וֹ בִּמְלֶ֣אכֶת רֵעֵ֑הוּ וְלָקַ֥ח בְּעָלָ֖יו וְלֹ֥א יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

KJV ¹¹ Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.

LSG ¹¹ le serment au nom de l'Éternel interviendra entre les deux parties, et celui qui a gardé l'animal déclarera qu'il n'a pas mis la main sur le bien de son prochain ; le maître de l'animal acceptera ce serment, et l'autre ne sera point tenu à une restitution.

WLC ¹¹ וְאִם־ גָּנֹ֥ב יִגָּנֵ֖ב מֵעִמּ֑וֹ יְשַׁלֵּ֖ם לִבְעָלָֽיו׃

KJV ¹² And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.

LSG ¹² Mais si l'animal a été dérobé chez lui, il sera tenu vis-à-vis de son maître à une restitution.

WLC ¹² אִם־ טָרֹ֥ף יִטָּרֵ֖ף יְבִאֵ֣הוּ עֵ֑ד הַטְּרֵפָ֖ה לֹ֥א יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

KJV ¹³ If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.

LSG ¹³ Si l'animal a été déchiré, il le produira en témoignage, et il ne sera point tenu à une restitution pour ce qui a été déchiré.

WLC ¹³ וְכִֽי־ יִשְׁאַ֥ל אִ֛ישׁ מֵעִ֥ם רֵעֵ֖הוּ וְנִשְׁבַּ֣ר אוֹ־ מֵ֑ת בְּעָלָ֥יו אֵין־ עִמּ֖וֹ שַׁלֵּ֥ם יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃

KJV ¹⁴ And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.

LSG ¹⁴ Si un homme emprunte à un autre un animal, et que l'animal se casse un membre ou qu'il meure, en l'absence de son maître, il y aura lieu à restitution.

WLC ¹⁴ אִם־ בְּעָלָ֥יו עִמּ֖וֹ לֹ֣א יְשַׁלֵּ֑ם אִם־ שָׂכִ֣יר ה֔וּא בָּ֖א בִּשְׂכָרֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁵ But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.

LSG ¹⁵ Si le maître est présent, il n'y aura pas lieu à restitution. Si l'animal a été loué, le prix du louage suffira.

WLC ¹⁵ וְכִֽי־ יְפַתֶּ֣ה אִ֗ישׁ בְּתוּלָ֛ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־ אֹרָ֖שָׂה וְשָׁכַ֣ב עִמָּ֑הּ מָהֹ֛ר יִמְהָרֶ֥נָּה לּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃
