⁶ And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob. ⁷ For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.

⁶ Esaü prit ses femmes, ses fils et ses filles, tous les membres de sa famille, ses troupeaux, tout son bétail, tout ce qui lui appartenait et dont il était devenu propriétaire dans le pays de Canaan, et il s'en alla dans un autre pays, loin de son frère Jacob. ⁷ En effet, leurs biens étaient trop nombreux pour qu'ils habitent ensemble et la région où ils séjournaient ne suffisait plus pour eux à cause de leurs troupeaux.
