   ¹ Que votre coeur ne se trouble point ; croyez en Dieu, croyez aussi en moi. ² Dans la maison de mon Père, il y a plusieurs demeures ; si cela n'était pas, je vous l'aurais dit ; car je vais vous préparer une place. ³ Et quand je serai allé, et que je vous aurai préparé une place, je reviendrai, et je vous prendrai à moi, afin que là où je suis, vous y soyez aussi. ⁴ Et vous savez où je vais, et vous en savez le chemin.
   ⁵ Thomas lui dit : Seigneur, nous ne savons où tu vas ; comment en saurions-nous le chemin ? ⁶ Jésus lui dit : C'est moi qui suis le chemin et la vérité et la vie ; nul ne vient au Père que par moi. ⁷ Si vous m'aviez connu, vous connaîtriez aussi mon Père ; et dès à présent vous le connaissez et vous l'avez vu.
   ⁸ Philippe lui dit : Seigneur, montre-nous le Père, et cela nous suffit. ⁹ Jésus lui dit : Il y a si longtemps que je suis avec vous, et tu ne m'as pas connu, Philippe ? Celui qui m'a vu, a vu le Père. Comment dis-tu : Montre-nous le Père ? ¹⁰ Ne crois-tu pas que je suis dans le Père, et que le Père est en moi ? Les paroles que je vous dis, ce n'est pas de moi-même que je les prononce ; mais le Père, qui demeure en moi, c'est lui qui fait les oeuvres. ¹¹ Croyez-moi que je suis dans le Père et que le Père est en moi ; sinon, croyez à cause des oeuvres mêmes.

   ¹ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. ² In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
   ⁴ And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. ⁵ Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? ⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ⁷ If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. ⁸ Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. ⁹ Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? ¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. ¹¹ Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

   ¹ Non turbetur cor vestrum. Creditis in Deum, et in me credite.
   ² In domo Patris mei mansiones multæ sunt ; si quominus dixissem vobis : quia vado parare vobis locum.
   ³ Et si abiero, et præparavero vobis locum, iterum venio, et accipiam vos ad meipsum : ut ubi sum ego, et vos sitis.
   ⁴ Et quo ego vado scitis, et viam scitis.
   ⁵ Dicit ei Thomas : Domine, nescimus quo vadis : et quomodo possumus viam scire ?
