KJV ¹ The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

WLC ¹ הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה אֶֽל־ יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ² Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

OST ² Lève-toi, et descends dans la maison du potier; et là je te ferai entendre mes paroles.

WLC ² ק֥וּם וְיָרַדְתָּ֖ בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר וְשָׁ֖מָּה אַשְׁמִֽיעֲךָ֥ אֶת־ דְּבָרָֽי׃

KJV ³ Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

OST ³ Je descendis donc dans la maison du potier, et voici, il travaillait sur son tour.

WLC ³ וָאֵרֵ֖ד בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר עֹשֶׂ֥ה מְלָאכָ֖ה עַל־ הָאָבְנָֽיִם׃

KJV ⁴ And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

OST ⁴ Et le vase qu'il faisait avec l'argile qu'il tenait en sa main, fut manqué; et il en refit un autre vase, comme il lui sembla bon de le faire.

WLC ⁴ וְנִשְׁחַ֣ת הַכְּלִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר ה֥וּא עֹשֶׂ֛ה בַּחֹ֖מֶר בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר וְשָׁ֗ב וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ כְּלִ֣י אַחֵ֔ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָשַׁ֛ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י הַיּוֹצֵ֖ר לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃

KJV ⁵ Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

OST ⁵ Alors la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:

WLC ⁵ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֽוֹר׃

KJV ⁶ O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

OST ⁶ Maison d'Israël, ne puis-je pas agir envers vous comme ce potier? dit l'Éternel. Voici, comme l'argile est dans la main du potier, ainsi vous êtes dans ma main, maison d'Israël!

WLC ⁶ הֲכַיּוֹצֵ֨ר הַזֶּ֜ה לֹא־ אוּכַ֨ל לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָכֶ֛ם בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה הִנֵּ֤ה כַחֹ֙מֶר֙ בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֔ר כֵּן־ אַתֶּ֥ם בְּיָדִ֖י בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ⁷ At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

OST ⁷ Au moment où j'aurai parlé d'une nation, d'un royaume, pour arracher, pour démolir et pour détruire,

WLC ⁷ רֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר עַל־ גּ֖וֹי וְעַל־ מַמְלָכָ֑ה לִנְת֥וֹשׁ וְלִנְת֖וֹץ וּֽלְהַאֲבִֽיד׃

KJV ⁸ If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

OST ⁸ Si cette nation dont j'aurai parlé, revient de sa méchanceté, je me repentirai aussi du mal que je pensais lui faire.

WLC ⁸ וְשָׁב֙ הַגּ֣וֹי הַה֔וּא מֵרָ֣עָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי עָלָ֑יו וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ עַל־ הָ֣רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖בְתִּי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁹ And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;

OST ⁹ Et au moment où j'aurai parlé d'une nation, d'un royaume, pour édifier et pour planter,

WLC ⁹ וְרֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר עַל־ גּ֖וֹי וְעַל־ מַמְלָכָ֑ה לִבְנֹ֖ת וְלִנְטֹֽעַ׃

KJV ¹⁰ If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

OST ¹⁰ S'il fait ce qui est mal à mes yeux, et n'écoute point ma voix, je me repentirai aussi du bien que j'avais dit vouloir lui faire.

WLC ¹⁰ וְעָשָׂ֤ה בְּעֵינַ֔י לְבִלְתִּ֖י שְׁמֹ֣עַ בְּקוֹלִ֑י וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ עַל־ הַטּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָמַ֖רְתִּי לְהֵיטִ֥יב אוֹתֽוֹ׃
