BAN ¹⁴ Maudit soit le jour où je suis né ! Que le jour où ma mère m'a enfanté ne soit point béni !

KJV ¹⁴ Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.

WLC ¹⁴ אָר֣וּר הַיּ֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֻלַּ֖דְתִּי בּ֑וֹ י֛וֹם אֲשֶׁר־ יְלָדַ֥תְנִי אִמִּ֖י אַל־ יְהִ֥י בָרֽוּךְ׃

BAN ¹⁵ Maudit soit l'homme qui porta la nouvelle à mon père, en lui disant : Un fils t'est né ; et qui le combla de joie !

KJV ¹⁵ Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad.

WLC ¹⁵ אָר֣וּר הָאִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֨ר בִּשַּׂ֤ר אֶת־ אָבִי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יֻֽלַּד־ לְךָ֖ בֵּ֣ן זָכָ֑ר שַׂמֵּ֖חַ שִׂמֳּחָֽהוּ׃

BAN ¹⁶ Que cet homme devienne pareil aux villes que l'Eternel a renversées sans s'en repentir ; qu'il entende le cri le matin et le tumulte à midi,

KJV ¹⁶ And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;

WLC ¹⁶ וְהָיָה֙ הָאִ֣ישׁ הַה֔וּא כֶּֽעָרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־ הָפַ֥ךְ יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א נִחָ֑ם וְשָׁמַ֤ע זְעָקָה֙ בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וּתְרוּעָ֖ה בְּעֵ֥ת צָהֳרָֽיִם׃

BAN ¹⁷ parce qu'il ne m'a pas tué dès le sein maternel, afin que ma mère fût mon tombeau, ou que sa grossesse fût sans fin !

KJV ¹⁷ Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.

WLC ¹⁷ אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־ מוֹתְתַ֖נִי מֵרָ֑חֶם וַתְּהִי־ לִ֤י אִמִּי֙ קִבְרִ֔י וְרַחְמָ֖הֿ הֲרַ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃

BAN ¹⁸ Pourquoi suis-je sorti de ses entrailles pour voir la peine et la douleur ? Car mes jours se consument dans l'ignominie !

KJV ¹⁸ Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

WLC ¹⁸ לָ֤מָּה זֶּה֙ מֵרֶ֣חֶם יָצָ֔אתִי לִרְא֥וֹת עָמָ֖ל וְיָג֑וֹן וַיִּכְל֥וּ בְּבֹ֖שֶׁת יָמָֽי׃
