KJV ¹ Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.

WLC ¹ ה֣וֹי רֹעִ֗ים מְאַבְּדִ֧ים וּמְפִצִ֛ים אֶת־ צֹ֥אן מַרְעִיתִ֖י נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ² C'est pourquoi, ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, quant aux pasteurs qui paissent mon peuple : Vous avez dispersé mon troupeau, et vous les avez chassés, et vous ne les avez pas visités ; voici, je visite sur vous l'iniquité de vos actions, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ² Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.

WLC ² לָ֠כֵן כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֨ר יְהוָ֜ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל עַֽל־ הָרֹעִים֮ הָרֹעִ֣ים אֶת־ עַמִּי֒ אַתֶּ֞ם הֲפִצֹתֶ֤ם אֶת־ צֹאנִי֙ וַתַּדִּח֔וּם וְלֹ֥א פְקַדְתֶּ֖ם אֹתָ֑ם הִנְנִ֨י פֹקֵ֧ד עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם אֶת־ רֹ֥עַ מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ³ Et moi, je rassemblerai le reste de mon troupeau de tous les pays où je les aurai chassés, et je les ferai retourner à leurs pâturages, et ils fructifieront et multiplieront.

KJV ³ And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

WLC ³ וַאֲנִ֗י אֲקַבֵּץ֙ אֶת־ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית צֹאנִ֔י מִכֹּל֙ הָאֲרָצ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־ הִדַּ֥חְתִּי אֹתָ֖ם שָׁ֑ם וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֥י אֶתְהֶ֛ן עַל־ נְוֵהֶ֖ן וּפָר֥וּ וְרָבֽוּ׃

DRB ⁴ Et je susciterai sur eux des pasteurs qui les paîtront ; et ils ne craindront plus, et ne seront pas effrayés, et il n'en manquera aucun, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ⁴ And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.

WLC ⁴ וַהֲקִמֹתִ֧י עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם רֹעִ֖ים וְרָע֑וּם וְלֹא־ יִֽירְא֨וּ ע֧וֹד וְלֹא־ יֵחַ֛תּוּ וְלֹ֥א יִפָּקֵ֖דוּ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ⁵ Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, et je susciterai à David un Germe juste ; et il régnera en roi, et prospérera, et exercera le jugement et la justice dans le pays.

KJV ⁵ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

WLC ⁵ הִנֵּ֨ה יָמִ֤ים בָּאִים֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וַהֲקִמֹתִ֥י לְדָוִ֖ד צֶ֣מַח צַדִּ֑יק וּמָ֤לַךְ מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ וְהִשְׂכִּ֔יל וְעָשָׂ֛ה מִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּצְדָקָ֖ה בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

DRB ⁶ Dans ses jours Juda sera sauvé et Israël demeurera en sécurité ; et c'est ici le nom dont on l'appellera : L'Éternel notre justice.

KJV ⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

WLC ⁶ בְּיָמָיו֙ תִּוָּשַׁ֣ע יְהוּדָ֔ה וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יִשְׁכֹּ֣ן לָבֶ֑טַח וְזֶה־ שְּׁמ֥וֹ אֲ‍ֽשֶׁר־ יִקְרְא֖וֹ יְהוָ֥ה ׀ צִדְקֵֽנוּ׃

DRB ⁷ C'est pourquoi, voici, des jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, où l'on ne dira plus : L'Éternel est vivant, qui a fait monter les fils d'Israël du pays d'Égypte,

KJV ⁷ Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

WLC ⁷ לָכֵ֛ן הִנֵּֽה־ יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹא־ יֹ֤אמְרוּ עוֹד֙ חַי־ יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר הֶעֱלָ֛ה אֶת־ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

DRB ⁸ mais : L'Éternel est vivant, qui a fait monter et qui a ramené la semence de la maison d'Israël du pays du nord, et de tous les pays où je les avais chassés ; et ils habiteront en leur terre.

KJV ⁸ But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

WLC ⁸ כִּ֣י אִם־ חַי־ יְהוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֶעֱלָה֩ וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵבִ֜יא אֶת־ זֶ֨רַע בֵּ֤ית יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֔וֹנָה וּמִכֹּל֙ הָֽאֲרָצ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִדַּחְתִּ֖ים שָׁ֑ם וְיָשְׁב֖וּ עַל־ אַדְמָתָֽם׃

DRB ⁹ À cause des prophètes, mon* cœur est brisé au dedans de moi ; tous mes os tremblent ; je suis comme un homme ivre, et comme un homme que le vin a surmonté, à cause de l'Éternel, et à cause de ses paroles saintes.

KJV ⁹ Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.

WLC ⁹ לַנְּבִאִ֞ים נִשְׁבַּ֧ר לִבִּ֣י בְקִרְבִּ֗י רָֽחֲפוּ֙ כָּל־ עַצְמוֹתַ֔י הָיִ֙יתִי֙ כְּאִ֣ישׁ שִׁכּ֔וֹר וּכְגֶ֖בֶר עֲבָ֣רוֹ יָ֑יִן מִפְּנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וּמִפְּנֵ֖י דִּבְרֵ֥י קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃

DRB ¹⁰ Car le pays est rempli d'adultères, car le pays est en deuil à cause de l'exécration ; les pâturages du désert sont desséchés ; leur course est mauvaise, et leur force est injuste.

KJV ¹⁰ For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.

WLC ¹⁰ כִּ֤י מְנָֽאֲפִים֙ מָלְאָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּֽי־ מִפְּנֵ֤י אָלָה֙ אָבְלָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ יָבְשׁ֖וּ נְא֣וֹת מִדְבָּ֑ר וַתְּהִ֤י מְרֽוּצָתָם֙ רָעָ֔ה וּגְבוּרָתָ֖ם לֹא־ כֵֽן׃

DRB ¹¹ Car, tant le prophète que le sacrificateur sont profanes ; même dans ma maison j'ai trouvé leur iniquité, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ¹¹ For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.

WLC ¹¹ כִּֽי־ גַם־ נָבִ֥יא גַם־ כֹּהֵ֖ן חָנֵ֑פוּ גַּם־ בְּבֵיתִ֛י מָצָ֥אתִי רָעָתָ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ¹² C'est pourquoi leur chemin leur sera comme des lieux glissants dans les ténèbres ; ils y seront poussés, et ils y tomberont ; car je ferai venir du mal sur eux, en l'année de leur visitation, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ¹² Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

WLC ¹² לָכֵן֩ יִֽהְיֶ֨ה דַרְכָּ֜ם לָהֶ֗ם כַּחֲלַקְלַקּוֹת֙ בָּֽאֲפֵלָ֔ה יִדַּ֖חוּ וְנָ֣פְלוּ בָ֑הּ כִּֽי־ אָבִ֨יא עֲלֵיהֶ֥ם רָעָ֛ה שְׁנַ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ¹³ Et dans les prophètes de Samarie j'ai vu de la folie ; ils ont prophétisé par Baal, et ont fait errer mon peuple Israël.

KJV ¹³ And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

WLC ¹³ וּבִנְבִיאֵ֥י שֹׁמְר֖וֹן רָאִ֣יתִי תִפְלָ֑ה הִנַּבְּא֣וּ בַבַּ֔עַל וַיַּתְע֥וּ אֶת־ עַמִּ֖י אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

DRB ¹⁴ Et dans les prophètes de Jérusalem j'ai vu des choses horribles, commettre adultère et marcher dans le mensonge ; ils fortifient les mains de ceux qui font le mal, en sorte qu'aucun ne revienne de son iniquité* ; ils me sont tous comme Sodome, et ses habitants, comme Gomorrhe.

KJV ¹⁴ I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

WLC ¹⁴ וּבִנְבִאֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם רָאִ֣יתִי שַׁעֲרוּרָ֗ה נָא֞וֹף וְהָלֹ֤ךְ בַּשֶּׁ֙קֶר֙ וְחִזְּקוּ֙ יְדֵ֣י מְרֵעִ֔ים לְבִ֨לְתִּי־ שָׁ֔בוּ אִ֖ישׁ מֵרָֽעָת֑וֹ הָֽיוּ־ לִ֤י כֻלָּם֙ כִּסְדֹ֔ם וְיֹשְׁבֶ֖יהָ כַּעֲמֹרָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁵ C'est pourquoi, ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées quant aux prophètes : Voici, je leur fais manger de l'absinthe et leur fais boire de l'eau de fiel ; car c'est des prophètes de Jérusalem que l'impiété s'est répandue par tout le pays.

KJV ¹⁵ Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.

WLC ¹⁵ לָכֵ֞ן כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֨ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ עַל־ הַנְּבִאִ֔ים הִנְנִ֨י מַאֲכִ֤יל אוֹתָם֙ לַֽעֲנָ֔ה וְהִשְׁקִתִ֖ים מֵי־ רֹ֑אשׁ כִּ֗י מֵאֵת֙ נְבִיאֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם יָצְאָ֥ה חֲנֻפָּ֖ה לְכָל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

DRB ¹⁶ Ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées : N'écoutez pas les paroles des prophètes qui vous prophétisent ; ils vous entraînent à des choses vaines, ils disent la vision de leur cœur, non [celle qui sort] de la bouche de l'Éternel.

KJV ¹⁶ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

WLC ¹⁶ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת אַֽל־ תִּשְׁמְע֞וּ עַל־ דִּבְרֵ֤י הַנְּבִאִים֙ הַנִּבְּאִ֣ים לָכֶ֔ם מַהְבִּלִ֥ים הֵ֖מָּה אֶתְכֶ֑ם חֲז֤וֹן לִבָּם֙ יְדַבֵּ֔רוּ לֹ֖א מִפִּ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁷ Ils disent continuellement à ceux qui me méprisent : L'Éternel dit : Vous aurez la paix. Et à tous ceux qui marchent dans l'obstination de leur cœur ils disent : Il ne viendra point de mal sur vous.

KJV ¹⁷ They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

WLC ¹⁷ אֹמְרִ֤ים אָמוֹר֙ לִֽמְנַאֲצַ֔י דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שָׁל֖וֹם יִֽהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם וְ֠כֹל הֹלֵ֞ךְ בִּשְׁרִר֤וּת לִבּוֹ֙ אָֽמְר֔וּ לֹֽא־ תָב֥וֹא עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם רָעָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁸ Car qui s'est tenu dans le conseil secret de l'Éternel, en sorte qu'il ait vu et entendu sa parole ? Qui a été attentif à sa parole, et a écouté ?

KJV ¹⁸ For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?

WLC ¹⁸ כִּ֣י מִ֤י עָמַד֙ בְּס֣וֹד יְהוָ֔ה וְיֵ֖רֶא וְיִשְׁמַ֣ע אֶת־ דְּבָר֑וֹ מִֽי־ הִקְשִׁ֥יב וַיִּשְׁמָֽע׃

DRB ¹⁹ Voici, une tempête de l'Éternel, la fureur, est sortie ; et une tempête tourbillonnante fondra sur la tête des méchants.

KJV ¹⁹ Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

WLC ¹⁹ הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ סַעֲרַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה חֵמָה֙ יָֽצְאָ֔ה וְסַ֖עַר מִתְחוֹלֵ֑ל עַ֛ל רֹ֥אשׁ רְשָׁעִ֖ים יָחֽוּל׃

DRB ²⁰ La colère de l'Éternel ne retournera pas jusqu'à ce qu'il ait exécuté et accompli les pensées de son cœur. À la fin des jours vous le comprendrez avec intelligence.

KJV ²⁰ The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.

WLC ²⁰ לֹ֤א יָשׁוּב֙ אַף־ יְהוָ֔ה עַד־ עֲשֹׂת֥וֹ וְעַד־ הֲקִימ֖וֹ מְזִמּ֣וֹת לִבּ֑וֹ בְּאַֽחֲרִית֙ הַיָּמִ֔ים תִּתְבּ֥וֹנְנוּ בָ֖הּ בִּינָֽה׃

DRB ²¹ Je n'ai pas envoyé ces prophètes, et ils ont couru ; je ne leur ai pas parlé, et ils ont prophétisé ;

KJV ²¹ I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

WLC ²¹ לֹא־ שָׁלַ֥חְתִּי אֶת־ הַנְּבִאִ֖ים וְהֵ֣ם רָ֑צוּ לֹא־ דִבַּ֥רְתִּי אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם וְהֵ֥ם נִבָּֽאוּ׃

DRB ²² mais, s'ils s'étaient tenus dans mon conseil secret et avaient fait entendre mes paroles à mon peuple, ils les auraient détournés de leur mauvaise voie et de l'iniquité de leurs actions.

KJV ²² But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

WLC ²² וְאִֽם־ עָמְד֖וּ בְּסוֹדִ֑י וְיַשְׁמִ֤עוּ דְבָרַי֙ אֶת־ עַמִּ֔י וִֽישִׁבוּם֙ מִדַּרְכָּ֣ם הָרָ֔ע וּמֵרֹ֖עַ מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃

DRB ²³ Suis-je un Dieu de près, dit l'Éternel, et non un Dieu de loin ?

KJV ²³ Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?

WLC ²³ הַאֱלֹהֵ֧י מִקָּרֹ֛ב אָ֖נִי נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹ֥א אֱלֹהֵ֖י מֵרָחֹֽק׃

DRB ²⁴ Un homme se cachera-t-il dans quelque cachette où je ne le voie pas ? dit l'Éternel. N'est-ce pas moi qui remplis les cieux et la terre ? dit l'Éternel.

KJV ²⁴ Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

WLC ²⁴ אִם־ יִסָּתֵ֨ר אִ֧ישׁ בַּמִּסְתָּרִ֛ים וַאֲנִ֥י לֹֽא־ אֶרְאֶ֖נּוּ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה הֲל֨וֹא אֶת־ הַשָּׁמַ֧יִם וְאֶת־ הָאָ֛רֶץ אֲנִ֥י מָלֵ֖א נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ²⁵ J'ai entendu ce que les prophètes disent, prophétisant le mensonge en mon nom, disant : J'ai eu un songe, j'ai eu un songe !

KJV ²⁵ I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

WLC ²⁵ שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי אֵ֤ת אֲשֶׁר־ אָֽמְרוּ֙ הַנְּבִאִ֔ים הַֽנִּבְּאִ֥ים בִּשְׁמִ֛י שֶׁ֖קֶר לֵאמֹ֑ר חָלַ֖מְתִּי חָלָֽמְתִּי׃

DRB ²⁶ Jusques à quand [cela] sera-t-il dans le cœur des prophètes qui prophétisent le mensonge et qui sont des prophètes de la tromperie de leur cœur,

KJV ²⁶ How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;

WLC ²⁶ עַד־ מָתַ֗י הֲיֵ֛שׁ בְּלֵ֥ב הַנְּבִאִ֖ים נִבְּאֵ֣י הַשָּׁ֑קֶר וּנְבִיאֵ֖י תַּרְמִ֥ת לִבָּֽם׃

DRB ²⁷ qui pensent faire oublier mon nom à mon peuple par leurs songes que chacun raconte à son compagnon, comme leurs pères ont oublié mon nom pour Baal ?

KJV ²⁷ Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

WLC ²⁷ הַחֹשְׁבִ֗ים לְהַשְׁכִּ֤יחַ אֶת־ עַמִּי֙ שְׁמִ֔י בַּחֲל֣וֹמֹתָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְסַפְּר֖וּ אִ֣ישׁ לְרֵעֵ֑הוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר שָׁכְח֧וּ אֲבוֹתָ֛ם אֶת־ שְׁמִ֖י בַּבָּֽעַל׃

DRB ²⁸ Que le prophète qui a un songe récite le songe, et que celui qui a ma parole énonce ma parole en vérité. Qu'est-ce que la paille à côté du froment ? dit l'Éternel.

KJV ²⁸ The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.

WLC ²⁸ הַנָּבִ֞יא אֲשֶׁר־ אִתּ֤וֹ חֲלוֹם֙ יְסַפֵּ֣ר חֲל֔וֹם וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר דְּבָרִי֙ אִתּ֔וֹ יְדַבֵּ֥ר דְּבָרִ֖י אֱמֶ֑ת מַה־ לַתֶּ֥בֶן אֶת־ הַבָּ֖ר נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ²⁹ Ma parole n'est-elle pas comme un feu, dit l'Éternel, et comme un marteau qui brise le roc ?

KJV ²⁹ Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

WLC ²⁹ הֲל֨וֹא כֹ֧ה דְבָרִ֛י כָּאֵ֖שׁ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וּכְפַטִּ֖ישׁ יְפֹ֥צֵֽץ סָֽלַע׃

DRB ³⁰ C'est pourquoi, voici, dit l'Éternel, j'en veux aux prophètes qui volent mes paroles chacun à son prochain.

KJV ³⁰ Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.

WLC ³⁰ לָכֵ֛ן הִנְנִ֥י עַל־ הַנְּבִאִ֖ים נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה מְגַנְּבֵ֣י דְבָרַ֔י אִ֖ישׁ מֵאֵ֥ת רֵעֵֽהוּ׃

DRB ³¹ Voici, dit l'Éternel, j'en veux aux prophètes qui usent de leur langue, et disent : Il dit.

KJV ³¹ Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

WLC ³¹ הִנְנִ֥י עַל־ הַנְּבִיאִ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה הַלֹּקְחִ֣ים לְשׁוֹנָ֔ם וַֽיִּנְאֲמ֖וּ נְאֻֽם׃

DRB ³² Voici, dit l'Éternel, j'en veux à ceux qui prophétisent des songes faux, et qui les récitent, et font errer mon peuple par leurs mensonges et par leurs vanteries ; et moi je ne les ai pas envoyés, et je ne leur ai pas donné de commandement ; et ils ne profiteront de rien à ce peuple, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ³² Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.

WLC ³² הִ֠נְנִי עַֽל־ נִבְּאֵ֞י חֲלֹמ֥וֹת שֶׁ֙קֶר֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וַֽיְסַפְּרוּם֙ וַיַּתְע֣וּ אֶת־ עַמִּ֔י בְּשִׁקְרֵיהֶ֖ם וּבְפַחֲזוּתָ֑ם וְאָנֹכִ֨י לֹֽא־ שְׁלַחְתִּ֜ים וְלֹ֣א צִוִּיתִ֗ים וְהוֹעֵ֛יל לֹֽא־ יוֹעִ֥ילוּ לָֽעָם־ הַזֶּ֖ה נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ³³ Et si ce peuple, ou un prophète, ou un sacrificateur, t'interroge, disant : Quel est l'oracle de l'Éternel ? tu leur diras : Quel oracle ? Je vous abandonnerai*, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ³³ And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.

DRB ³⁴ Et quant au prophète, et au sacrificateur, et au peuple qui dit : Oracle de l'Éternel, - je punirai cet homme-là et sa maison.

KJV ³⁴ And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.

WLC ³⁴ וְהַנָּבִ֤יא וְהַכֹּהֵן֙ וְהָעָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֹאמַ֖ר מַשָּׂ֣א יְהוָ֑ה וּפָקַדְתִּ֛י עַל־ הָאִ֥ישׁ הַה֖וּא וְעַל־ בֵּיתֽוֹ׃

DRB ³⁵ Ainsi vous direz, chacun à son compagnon et chacun à son frère : Qu'a répondu l'Éternel, et qu'a dit l'Éternel ?

KJV ³⁵ Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

WLC ³⁵ כֹּ֥ה תֹאמְר֛וּ אִ֥ישׁ עַל־ רֵעֵ֖הוּ וְאִ֣ישׁ אֶל־ אָחִ֑יו מֶה־ עָנָ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה וּמַה־ דִּבֶּ֖ר יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ³⁶ Et vous ne ferez plus mention de l'oracle de l'Éternel, car la parole de chacun lui sera pour oracle ; car vous avez perverti les paroles du Dieu vivant, de l'Éternel des armées, notre Dieu.

KJV ³⁶ And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.

DRB ³⁹ Ne dites pas : Oracle de l'Éternel ; - à cause de cela, voici, je vous oublierai entièrement, et je vous rejetterai loin de ma face, vous et la ville que j'ai donnée à vous et à vos pères ;

KJV ³⁹ Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:

KJV ¹ The LORD shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

DRB ² L'un des paniers avait de très bonnes figues, comme les figues de la première saison ; et l'autre panier avait de très mauvaises figues qu'on ne pouvait manger, tant elles étaient mauvaises.

KJV ² One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

WLC ² הַדּ֣וּד אֶחָ֗ד תְּאֵנִים֙ טֹב֣וֹת מְאֹ֔ד כִּתְאֵנֵ֖י הַבַּכֻּר֑וֹת וְהַדּ֣וּד אֶחָ֗ד תְּאֵנִים֙ רָע֣וֹת מְאֹ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־ תֵֽאָכַ֖לְנָה מֵרֹֽעַ׃

DRB ³ Et l'Éternel me dit : Que vois-tu, Jérémie ? Et je dis : Des figues ; les bonnes figues, très bonnes, et les mauvaises, très mauvaises, qui ne peuvent être mangées, tant elles sont mauvaises.

KJV ³ Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

DRB ⁴ Et la parole de l'Éternel vint à moi, disant :

KJV ⁴ Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

WLC ⁴ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

DRB ⁵ Ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël : Comme [tu vois] ces bonnes figues, ainsi je me souviendrai, en bien, des transportés de Juda, que j'ai envoyés hors de ce lieu au pays des Chaldéens ;

KJV ⁵ Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

WLC ⁵ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כַּתְּאֵנִ֥ים הַטֹּב֖וֹת הָאֵ֑לֶּה כֵּֽן־ אַכִּ֞יר אֶת־ גָּל֣וּת יְהוּדָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר שִׁלַּ֜חְתִּי מִן־ הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה אֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים לְטוֹבָֽה׃

DRB ⁶ et je mettrai mes yeux sur eux pour [leur] bien, et je les ferai retourner dans ce pays ; et je les bâtirai et je ne les renverserai pas, et je les planterai, et je ne les arracherai pas.

KJV ⁶ For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

WLC ⁶ וְשַׂמְתִּ֨י עֵינִ֤י עֲלֵיהֶם֙ לְטוֹבָ֔ה וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֖ים עַל־ הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֑את וּבְנִיתִים֙ וְלֹ֣א אֶהֱרֹ֔ס וּנְטַעְתִּ֖ים וְלֹ֥א אֶתּֽוֹשׁ׃

DRB ⁷ Et je leur donnerai un cœur pour me connaître, car* moi je suis l'Éternel ; et ils seront mon peuple, et moi je serai leur Dieu** ; car ils retourneront à moi de tout leur cœur.

KJV ⁷ And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

DRB ⁸ Et comme les figues mauvaises qu'on ne peut manger, tant elles sont mauvaises,… oui, ainsi dit l'Éternel, tels je rendrai Sédécias, le roi de Juda, et ses princes, et le reste de Jérusalem, qui sont de reste dans ce pays, et ceux qui habitent dans le pays d'Égypte ;

KJV ⁸ And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

DRB ⁹ et je les livrerai pour être chassés çà et là* par tous les royaumes de la terre, pour leur malheur, pour être en opprobre et en proverbe, un objet de raillerie et de malédiction, dans tous les lieux où je les chasserai ;

KJV ⁹ And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

WLC ⁹ וּנְתַתִּים֙ לְרָעָ֔ה לְכֹ֖ל מַמְלְכ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ לְחֶרְפָּ֤ה וּלְמָשָׁל֙ לִשְׁנִינָ֣ה וְלִקְלָלָ֔ה בְּכָל־ הַמְּקֹמ֖וֹת אֲשֶֽׁר־ אַדִּיחֵ֥ם שָֽׁם׃

DRB ¹⁰ et j'enverrai contre eux l'épée, la famine, et la peste, jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient consumés de dessus la terre que je leur ai donnée, à eux et à leurs pères.

DRB ³ Depuis la treizième année de Josias, fils d'Amon, roi de Juda, jusqu'à ce jour, ces vingt-trois ans, la parole de l'Éternel m'est venue, et je vous ai parlé, me levant de bonne heure et parlant ; et vous n'avez pas écouté.

KJV ³ From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

DRB ⁴ Et l'Éternel vous a envoyé tous ses serviteurs les prophètes, se levant de bonne heure et [les] envoyant ; et vous n'avez pas écouté, et vous n'avez point incliné vos oreilles pour écouter,

KJV ⁴ And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

WLC ⁴ וְשָׁלַח֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֲלֵיכֶ֜ם אֶֽת־ כָּל־ עֲבָדָ֧יו הַנְּבִאִ֛ים הַשְׁכֵּ֥ם וְשָׁלֹ֖חַ וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם וְלֹֽא־ הִטִּיתֶ֥ם אֶֽת־ אָזְנְכֶ֖ם לִשְׁמֹֽעַ׃

DRB ⁵ lorsqu'ils disaient : Revenez donc chacun de sa mauvaise voie, et de l'iniquité de vos actions, et vous habiterez sur la terre que l'Éternel vous a donnée, à vous et à vos pères, de siècle en siècle ;

KJV ⁵ They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

WLC ⁵ לֵאמֹ֗ר שֽׁוּבוּ־ נָ֞א אִ֣ישׁ מִדַּרְכּ֤וֹ הָֽרָעָה֙ וּמֵרֹ֣עַ מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם וּשְׁבוּ֙ עַל־ הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה לָכֶ֖ם וְלַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם לְמִן־ עוֹלָ֖ם וְעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

DRB ⁶ et n'allez point après d'autres dieux pour les servir, et pour vous prosterner devant eux, et ne me provoquez pas par l'œuvre de vos mains ; et je ne vous ferai pas de mal.

KJV ⁶ And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

WLC ⁶ וְאַל־ תֵּלְכ֗וּ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים לְעָבְדָ֖ם וּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֣ת לָהֶ֑ם וְלֹֽא־ תַכְעִ֤יסוּ אוֹתִי֙ בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יְדֵיכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א אָרַ֖ע לָכֶֽם׃

DRB ⁷ Mais vous ne m'avez pas écouté, dit l'Éternel, pour me provoquer par l'œuvre de vos mains, pour votre propre malheur.

KJV ⁷ Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

WLC ⁷ וְלֹֽא־ שְׁמַעְתֶּ֥ם אֵלַ֖י נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה לְמַ֧עַן בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יְדֵיכֶ֖ם לְרַ֥ע לָכֶֽם׃

DRB ⁹ voici, j'envoie, et je prends toutes les familles du nord, dit l'Éternel, et* Nebucadretsar, roi de Babylone, mon serviteur, et je les ferai venir contre ce pays, et contre ses habitants, et contre toutes ces nations à l'entour : et je les vouerai à la destruction, j'en ferai une désolation, et un objet de sifflement, et des déserts perpétuels ;

KJV ⁹ Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

DRB ¹² Et il arrivera, quand [les] soixante-dix ans seront accomplis, que je visiterai sur le roi de Babylone et sur cette nation-là leur iniquité, dit l'Éternel, et sur le pays des Chaldéens, et je le réduirai en désolations perpétuelles.

KJV ¹² And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

DRB ¹³ Et je ferai venir sur ce pays toutes mes paroles que j'ai dites contre lui, tout ce qui est écrit dans ce livre, ce que Jérémie a prophétisé contre toutes les nations.

KJV ¹³ And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

KJV ¹⁴ For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

KJV ²⁸ And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

DRB ³¹ Le son éclatant en viendra jusqu'au bout de la terre ; car l'Éternel a un débat avec les nations, il entre en jugement avec toute chair. Les méchants, il les livrera à l'épée, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ³¹ A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

KJV ³² Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

KJV ³³ And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

DRB ³⁴ Vous, pasteurs, hurlez et criez ; et vous, les nobles du troupeau, roulez-vous par terre, car vos jours sont accomplis, pour vous tuer ; et je vous disperserai, et vous tomberez comme un vase d'agrément.

KJV ³⁴ Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.

WLC ³⁴ הֵילִ֨ילוּ הָרֹעִ֜ים וְזַעֲק֗וּ וְהִֽתְפַּלְּשׁוּ֙ אַדִּירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן כִּֽי־ מָלְא֥וּ יְמֵיכֶ֖ם לִטְב֑וֹחַ וּתְפוֹצ֣וֹתִיכֶ֔ם וּנְפַלְתֶּ֖ם כִּכְלִ֥י חֶמְדָּֽה׃

DRB ³⁵ Et [tout] refuge a péri pour les pasteurs, et la délivrance, pour les nobles du troupeau.

KJV ³⁵ And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

WLC ³⁵ וְאָבַ֥ד מָנ֖וֹס מִן־ הָֽרֹעִ֑ים וּפְלֵיטָ֖ה מֵאַדִּירֵ֥י הַצֹּֽאן׃

DRB ³⁶ Il y aura une voix du cri des pasteurs et un hurlement des nobles du troupeau ; car l'Éternel dévaste leur pâturage,

KJV ³⁶ A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.

WLC ³⁶ ק֚וֹל צַעֲקַ֣ת הָֽרֹעִ֔ים וִֽילְלַ֖ת אַדִּירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֑אן כִּֽי־ שֹׁדֵ֥ד יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מַרְעִיתָֽם׃

DRB ³⁷ et les parcs paisibles sont désolés devant l'ardeur de la colère de l'Éternel.

KJV ³⁷ And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

WLC ³⁷ וְנָדַ֖מּוּ נְא֣וֹת הַשָּׁל֑וֹם מִפְּנֵ֖י חֲר֥וֹן אַף־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ³⁸ Il a abandonné son tabernacle comme un jeune lion [son fourré] ; car leur pays sera une désolation devant l'ardeur de l'oppresseur et devant l'ardeur de sa colère.

KJV ³⁸ He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

DRB ² Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Tiens-toi dans le parvis de la maison de l'Éternel, et dis à toutes les villes de Juda, qui viennent pour se prosterner dans la maison de l'Éternel, toutes les paroles que je t'ai commandé de leur dire ; n'en retranche pas une parole.

DRB ³ Peut-être qu'ils écouteront, et qu'ils reviendront chacun de sa mauvaise voie ; et je me repentirai du mal que je pense à leur faire à cause de l'iniquité de leurs actions.

KJV ³ If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.

DRB ⁴ Et tu leur diras : Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Si vous ne m'écoutez pas, pour marcher dans ma loi que j'ai mise devant vous,

KJV ⁴ And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,

DRB ⁵ pour écouter les paroles de mes serviteurs, les prophètes que je vous envoie, me levant de bonne heure et [les] envoyant, - mais vous ne les avez pas écoutés -

KJV ⁵ To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;

WLC ⁵ לִשְׁמֹ֗עַ עַל־ דִּבְרֵ֨י עֲבָדַ֣י הַנְּבִאִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י שֹׁלֵ֣חַ אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם וְהַשְׁכֵּ֥ם וְשָׁלֹ֖חַ וְלֹ֥א שְׁמַעְתֶּֽם׃

DRB ⁶ je rendrai cette maison comme Silo, et je livrerai cette ville pour être une malédiction à toutes les nations de la terre.

KJV ⁶ Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

WLC ⁶ וְנָתַתִּ֛י אֶת־ הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּ֖ה כְּשִׁלֹ֑ה וְאֶת־ הָעִ֤יר אֶתֵּ֣ן לִקְלָלָ֔ה לְכֹ֖ל גּוֹיֵ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ׃

DRB ⁷ Et les sacrificateurs et les prophètes et tout le peuple entendirent Jérémie dire ces paroles dans la maison de l'Éternel.

KJV ⁷ So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.

DRB ⁸ Et il arriva que, comme Jérémie achevait de dire tout ce que l'Éternel avait commandé de dire à tout le peuple, les sacrificateurs et les prophètes et tout le peuple le saisirent, disant : Tu mourras certainement !

DRB ⁹ Pourquoi prophétises-tu au nom de l'Éternel, disant : Cette maison sera comme Silo, et cette ville sera désolée, de sorte qu'il n'y aura pas d'habitant ? Et tout le peuple s'assembla contre Jérémie dans la maison de l'Éternel.

KJV ⁹ Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

DRB ¹⁰ Et les princes de Juda entendirent ces choses, et ils montèrent de la maison du roi à la maison de l'Éternel, et s'assirent dans l'entrée de la porte neuve de l'Éternel.

KJV ¹⁰ When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house.

DRB ¹³ Et maintenant, amendez vos voies et vos actions, et écoutez la voix de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et l'Éternel se repentira du mal qu'il a prononcé contre vous.

KJV ¹³ Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

DRB ¹⁶ Et les princes et tout le peuple dirent aux sacrificateurs et aux prophètes : Cet homme ne mérite pas la mort ; car il nous a parlé au nom de l'Éternel, notre Dieu.

KJV ¹⁶ Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.

DRB ¹⁸ Michée, le Morashtite, prophétisait dans les jours d'Ézéchias, roi de Juda, et a parlé à tout le peuple de Juda, disant : Ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées : Sion sera labourée comme un champ, et Jérusalem sera des monceaux de pierres, et la montagne de la maison, les lieux hauts d'une forêt*.

KJV ¹⁸ Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

DRB ¹⁹ Ézéchias, le roi de Juda, avec tout Juda, le fit-il donc mourir ? Ne craignit-il pas l'Éternel, et n'implora-t-il pas l'Éternel, de sorte que l'Éternel se repentit du mal qu'il avait prononcé contre eux ? Et nous ferions un grand mal contre nos âmes. -

KJV ¹⁹ Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.

DRB ²⁰ Il y avait aussi un homme qui prophétisait au nom de l'Éternel, Urie, fils de Shemahia, de Kiriath-Jéarim ; et il prophétisait contre cette ville et contre ce pays, selon toutes les paroles de Jérémie ;

DRB ²¹ et le roi Jehoïakim, et tous ses hommes forts et tous les princes, entendirent ses paroles, et le roi chercha à le faire mourir ; mais Urie l'apprit, et eut peur, et s'enfuit, et alla en Égypte.

KJV ²¹ And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;

DRB ²² Et le roi Jehoïakim envoya des hommes en Égypte, Elnathan, fils d'Acbor, et des hommes avec lui, en Égypte ;

KJV ²² And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.

DRB ²³ et ils firent sortir d'Égypte Urie, et l'amenèrent au roi Jehoïakim, et il le frappa avec l'épée, et jeta son cadavre dans les sépulcres des fils du peuple. -

KJV ²³ And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

WLC ²³ וַיּוֹצִ֨יאוּ אֶת־ אוּרִיָּ֜הוּ מִמִּצְרַ֗יִם וַיְבִאֻ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יְהוֹיָקִ֔ים וַיַּכֵּ֖הוּ בֶּחָ֑רֶב וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙ אֶת־ נִבְלָת֔וֹ אֶל־ קִבְרֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃

DRB ²⁴ Toutefois la main d'Akhikam, fils de Shaphan, fut avec Jérémie, afin qu'on ne le livrât point aux mains du peuple pour le faire mourir.

KJV ²⁴ Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.

WLC ²⁴ אַ֗ךְ יַ֚ד אֲחִיקָ֣ם בֶּן־ שָׁפָ֔ן הָיְתָ֖ה אֶֽת־ יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ לְבִלְתִּ֛י תֵּת־ אֹת֥וֹ בְיַד־ הָעָ֖ם לַהֲמִיתֽוֹ׃
