DRB ¹ Sur Moab. Ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël : Malheur à Nebo ! car elle est dévastée. Kiriathaïm est honteuse, elle est prise. Misgab* est honteuse et terrifiée.

KJV ¹ Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.

WLC ¹ לְמוֹאָ֡ב כֹּֽה־ אָמַר֩ יְהוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל ה֤וֹי אֶל־ נְבוֹ֙ כִּ֣י שֻׁדָּ֔דָה הֹבִ֥ישָׁה נִלְכְּדָ֖ה קִרְיָתָ֑יִם הֹבִ֥ישָׁה הַמִּשְׂגָּ֖ב וָחָֽתָּה׃

DRB ² C'en est fait de la louange* de Moab. À Hesbon, ils ont machiné contre lui du mal : Venez, et retranchons-le, qu'il ne soit plus une nation ! Toi aussi, Madmen, tu seras détruite ; l'épée ira après toi.

KJV ² There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.

WLC ² אֵ֣ין עוֹד֮ תְּהִלַּ֣ת מוֹאָב֒ בְּחֶשְׁבּ֗וֹן חָשְׁב֤וּ עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ רָעָ֔ה לְכ֖וּ וְנַכְרִיתֶ֣נָּה מִגּ֑וֹי גַּם־ מַדְמֵ֣ן תִּדֹּ֔מִּי אַחֲרַ֖יִךְ תֵּ֥לֶךְ חָֽרֶב׃

DRB ³ La voix d'un cri [qui vient] de Horonaïm ! Dévastation et grande ruine !

KJV ³ A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.

WLC ³ ק֥וֹל צְעָקָ֖ה מֵחֹֽרוֹנָ֑יִם שֹׁ֖ד וָשֶׁ֥בֶר גָּדֽוֹל׃

DRB ⁴ Moab est ruiné, ses petits enfants ont fait entendre un cri ;…

KJV ⁴ Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.

WLC ⁴ נִשְׁבְּרָ֖ה מוֹאָ֑ב הִשְׁמִ֥יעוּ זְּעָקָ֖ה

DRB ⁵ car de la montée de Lukhith montent pleurs sur pleurs ; car à la descente de Horonaïm on a entendu un cri d'angoisse de ruine.

KJV ⁵ For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.

WLC ⁵ כִּ֚י מַעֲלֵ֣ה בִּבְכִ֖י יַֽעֲלֶה־ בֶּ֑כִי כִּ֚י בְּמוֹרַ֣ד חוֹרֹנַ֔יִם צָרֵ֥י צַֽעֲקַת־ שֶׁ֖בֶר שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃

DRB ⁶ Fuyez, sauvez vos vies ; et vous serez comme la bruyère* dans le désert !

KJV ⁶ Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.

WLC ⁶ נֻ֖סוּ מַלְּט֣וּ נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם וְתִֽהְיֶ֕ינָה כַּעֲרוֹעֵ֖ר בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃

DRB ⁷ Car, parce que tu as eu confiance en tes ouvrages et en tes trésors, toi aussi tu seras pris ; et Kemosh s'en ira en captivité, ses sacrificateurs et ses princes ensemble.

KJV ⁷ For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

WLC ⁷ כִּ֠י יַ֣עַן בִּטְחֵ֤ךְ בְּמַעֲשַׂ֙יִךְ֙ וּבְא֣וֹצְרוֹתַ֔יִךְ גַּם־ אַ֖תְּ תִּלָּכֵ֑דִי וְיָצָ֤א בַּגּוֹלָ֔ה כֹּהֲנָ֥יו וְשָׂרָ֖יו

DRB ⁸ Et le dévastateur viendra contre chaque ville, et pas une ville n'échappera ; et la vallée périra, et le plateau sera dévasté, comme* l'Éternel l'a dit.

KJV ⁸ And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken.

WLC ⁸ וְיָבֹ֨א שֹׁדֵ֜ד אֶל־ כָּל־ עִ֗יר וְעִיר֙ לֹ֣א תִמָּלֵ֔ט וְאָבַ֥ד הָעֵ֖מֶק וְנִשְׁמַ֣ד הַמִּישֹׁ֑ר אֲשֶׁ֖ר אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ⁹ Donnez des ailes à Moab ! car il partira au vol, et ses villes seront désolées, sans qu'il y ait personne qui y habite.

KJV ⁹ Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.

WLC ⁹ תְּנוּ־ צִ֣יץ לְמוֹאָ֔ב כִּ֥י נָצֹ֖א תֵּצֵ֑א וְעָרֶ֙יהָ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֔ינָה מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בָּהֵֽן׃

DRB ¹⁰ Maudit celui qui fera l'œuvre de l'Éternel frauduleusement* ! Maudit celui qui retiendra son épée loin du sang !

KJV ¹⁰ Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

WLC ¹⁰ אָר֗וּר עֹשֶׂ֛ה מְלֶ֥אכֶת יְהוָ֖ה רְמִיָּ֑ה וְאָר֕וּר מֹנֵ֥עַ חַרְבּ֖וֹ מִדָּֽם׃

DRB ¹¹ Moab a été à son aise dès sa jeunesse, et tranquille sur sa lie ; il n'a pas été versé de vase en vase, et il n'est pas allé en captivité : c'est pourquoi son goût lui est demeuré, et son parfum ne s'est point changé.

KJV ¹¹ Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.

WLC ¹¹ שַׁאֲנַ֨ן מוֹאָ֜ב מִנְּעוּרָ֗יו וְשֹׁקֵ֥ט הוּא֙ אֶל־ שְׁמָרָ֔יו וְלֹֽא־ הוּרַ֤ק מִכְּלִי֙ אֶל־ כֶּ֔לִי וּבַגּוֹלָ֖ה לֹ֣א הָלָ֑ךְ עַל־ כֵּ֗ן עָמַ֤ד טַעְמוֹ֙ בּ֔וֹ וְרֵיח֖וֹ לֹ֥א נָמָֽר׃

DRB ¹² C'est pourquoi, voici, des jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, où je lui enverrai des transvaseurs qui le transvaseront, et qui videront ses vases, et qui briseront ses cruches*.

KJV ¹² Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.

WLC ¹² לָכֵ֞ן הִנֵּ֖ה־ יָמִ֤ים בָּאִים֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־ ל֥וֹ צֹעִ֖ים וְצֵעֻ֑הוּ וְכֵלָ֣יו יָרִ֔יקוּ וְנִבְלֵיהֶ֖ם יְנַפֵּֽצוּ׃

DRB ¹³ Et Moab sera honteux de Kemosh, comme la maison d'Israël a été honteuse de Béthel, sa confiance.

KJV ¹³ And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.

WLC ¹³ וּבֹ֥שׁ מוֹאָ֖ב מִכְּמ֑וֹשׁ כַּאֲשֶׁר־ בֹּ֙שׁוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִבֵּ֥ית אֵ֖ל מִבְטֶחָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁴ Comment dites-vous : Nous sommes des hommes forts, des hommes vaillants pour la guerre ?

KJV ¹⁴ How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?

WLC ¹⁴ אֵ֚יךְ תֹּֽאמְר֔וּ גִּבּוֹרִ֖ים אֲנָ֑חְנוּ וְאַנְשֵׁי־ חַ֖יִל לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁵ Moab est dévasté, et ses villes montent [en fumée]*, et l'élite de ses jeunes gens descend à la tuerie, dit le Roi ; l'Éternel des armées est son nom.

KJV ¹⁵ Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

WLC ¹⁵ שֻׁדַּ֤ד מוֹאָב֙ וְעָרֶ֣יהָ עָלָ֔ה וּמִבְחַ֥ר בַּֽחוּרָ֖יו יָרְד֣וּ לַטָּ֑בַח נְאֻ֨ם־ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽוֹ׃

DRB ¹⁶ La calamité de Moab est près d'arriver, et son malheur se hâte beaucoup.

KJV ¹⁶ The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.

WLC ¹⁶ קָר֥וֹב אֵיד־ מוֹאָ֖ב לָב֑וֹא וְרָ֣עָת֔וֹ מִהֲרָ֖ה מְאֹֽד׃

DRB ¹⁷ Lamentez-vous sur lui, vous tous qui êtes autour de lui ; et vous tous qui connaissez son nom, dites : Comment a été brisée la verge de force, le bâton de magnificence !

KJV ¹⁷ All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!

WLC ¹⁷ נֻ֤דוּ לוֹ֙ כָּל־ סְבִיבָ֔יו וְכֹ֖ל יֹדְעֵ֣י שְׁמ֑וֹ אִמְר֗וּ אֵיכָ֤ה נִשְׁבַּר֙ מַטֵּה־ עֹ֔ז מַקֵּ֖ל תִּפְאָרָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁸ Descends de la gloire, et assieds-toi dans la soif*, habitante, fille de Dibon ! car le dévastateur de Moab est monté contre toi, il a détruit tes forteresses.

KJV ¹⁸ Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.

WLC ¹⁸ רְדִ֤י מִכָּבוֹד֙ בַצָּמָ֔א יֹשֶׁ֖בֶת בַּת־ דִּיב֑וֹן כִּֽי־ שֹׁדֵ֤ד מוֹאָב֙ עָ֣לָה בָ֔ךְ שִׁחֵ֖ת מִבְצָרָֽיִךְ׃

DRB ¹⁹ Tiens-toi sur le chemin, et veille, habitante d'Aroër ; interroge celui qui fuit et celle qui est échappée ; dis : Qu'est-il arrivé ?

KJV ¹⁹ O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?

WLC ¹⁹ אֶל־ דֶּ֛רֶךְ עִמְדִ֥י וְצַפִּ֖י יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת עֲרוֹעֵ֑ר שַׁאֲלִי־ נָ֣ס וְנִמְלָ֔טָה אִמְרִ֖י מַה־ נִּֽהְיָֽתָה׃

DRB ²⁰ Moab est honteux, car il est brisé*. Hurlez et criez, annoncez dans Arnon que Moab est dévasté.

KJV ²⁰ Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,

WLC ²¹ וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט בָּ֖א אֶל־ אֶ֣רֶץ הַמִּישֹׁ֑ר אֶל־ חֹל֥וֹן וְאֶל־ יַ֖הְצָה וְעַל־

DRB ²² et sur Dibon, et sur Nébo, et sur Beth-Diblathaïm,

WLC ²² וְעַל־ דִּיב֣וֹן וְעַל־ נְב֔וֹ וְעַל־ בֵּ֖ית דִּבְלָתָֽיִם׃

DRB ²⁴ et sur Kerijoth, et sur Botsra, et sur toutes les villes du pays de Moab, éloignées et proches.

KJV ²⁴ And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.

WLC ²⁴ וְעַל־ קְרִיּ֖וֹת וְעַל־ בָּצְרָ֑ה וְעַ֗ל כָּל־ עָרֵי֙ אֶ֣רֶץ מוֹאָ֔ב הָרְחֹק֖וֹת וְהַקְּרֹבֽוֹת׃

DRB ²⁵ La corne de Moab est coupée, et son bras est cassé, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ²⁵ The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.

WLC ²⁵ נִגְדְּעָה֙ קֶ֣רֶן מוֹאָ֔ב וּזְרֹע֖וֹ נִשְׁבָּ֑רָה נְאֻ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃
