BAN ¹⁵ Moab est ravagé ; ses villes montent en fumée ; l'élite de ses jeunes gens descend à la boucherie, dit le Roi, dont le nom est l'Eternel des armées.

KJV ¹⁵ Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

VULC ¹⁵ Vastata est Moab, et civitates illius succiderunt,
et electi juvenes ejus descenderunt in occisionem, ait Rex :
Dominus exercituum nomen ejus.

BAN ¹⁶ La perte de Moab approche ; son malheur s'avance rapidement.

KJV ¹⁶ The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.

VULC ¹⁶ Prope est interitus Moab ut veniat,
et malum ejus velociter accurret nimis.

WLC ¹⁶ קָר֥וֹב אֵיד־ מוֹאָ֖ב לָב֑וֹא וְרָ֣עָת֔וֹ מִהֲרָ֖ה מְאֹֽד׃

BAN ¹⁷ Faites-lui vos condoléances, vous tous ses voisins ; et vous tous qui connaissez son nom, dites : Comment a été brisé un bâton si fort, un sceptre si brillant ?

KJV ¹⁷ All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!

VULC ¹⁷ Consolamini eum, omnes qui estis in circuitu ejus :
et universi qui scitis nomen ejus, dicite :
Quomodo confracta est virga fortis,
baculus gloriosus ?

BAN ¹⁸ Descends de ta gloire, assieds-toi dans la soif, habitante, fille de Dibon ! Car le dévastateur de Moab est monté contre toi ; il a détruit tes remparts.

KJV ¹⁸ Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.

KJV ¹⁹ O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?

BAN ²⁰ Moab est confus ; car il est renversé ! Lamentez-vous et criez ! Annoncez sur l'Arnon que Moab est ravagé !

BAN ²⁵ La corne de Moab est rompue, et son bras est brisé, dit l'Eternel.

BAN ²⁶ Enivrez-le ; car il s'est élevé contre l'Eternel ! Que Moab se vautre dans son vomissement ! Qu'il devienne un objet de risée, lui aussi !

KJV ²⁶ Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.

VULC ²⁶ Inebriate eum, quoniam contra Dominum erectus est :
et allidet manum Moab in vomitu suo,
et erit in derisum etiam ipse.

BAN ²⁷ Est-ce qu'Israël n'a pas été pour toi un objet de risée ? Est-ce qu'il a été trouvé avec des voleurs, pour qu'à chaque fois que tu parles de lui, tu hoches la tête ?

KJV ²⁷ For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.

propter verba ergo tua quæ adversum illum locutus es,

BAN ²⁸ Abandonnez les villes ; allez demeurer dans les rochers, habitants de Moab ! Soyez comme la colombe qui niche par delà le précipice béant !

KJV ²⁸ O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole's mouth.

VULC ²⁸ Relinquite civitates, et habitate in petra, habitatores Moab :

BAN ²⁹ Nous avons entendu l'orgueil de Moab, le très orgueilleux, sa hauteur, son orgueil, sa fierté et son coeur superbe.

KJV ²⁹ We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.

VULC ²⁹ Audivimus superbiam Moab : superbus est valde :
sublimitatem ejus, et arrogantiam,
et superbiam, et altitudinem cordis ejus.

BAN ³⁰ Je connais, moi, dit l'Eternel, son outrecuidance : et il n'y a rien ; sa jactance : et il n'a rien fait !

KJV ³⁰ I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.

KJV ³¹ Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.

BAN ³² Vigne de Sibma, plus encore que sur Jaézer, je pleure sur toi ; tes sarments passaient la mer ; ils touchaient à la mer de Jaézer. Le dévastateur s'est jeté sur ta récolte et sur ta vendange.

KJV ³² O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.

Propagines tuæ transierunt mare ;

BAN ³³ La joie et l'allégresse ont disparu des vergers et de la terre de Moab ; j'ai fait tarir le vin des cuves ; on ne le foule plus en criant hourra ! Le hourra n'est plus un hourra.

KJV ³³ And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

BAN ³⁴ Les cris de Hesbon parviennent jusqu'à Eléalé, jusqu'à Jahats ; les cris qui s'élèvent de Tsoar jusqu'à Horonaïm, retentissent à Eglath-Schelischia ; car même les eaux de Nimrim seront desséchées.

KJV ³⁴ From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.

BAN ³⁵ Et je ferai, dit l'Eternel, que Moab cessera de monter à son haut-lieu et d'encenser ses dieux.

KJV ³⁵ Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.

VULC ³⁵ Et auferam de Moab, ait Dominus,
offerentem in excelsis,
et sacrificantem diis ejus.

WLC ³⁵ וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֥י לְמוֹאָ֖ב נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה מַעֲלֶ֣ה בָמָ֔ה וּמַקְטִ֖יר לֵאלֹהָֽיו׃

BAN ³⁶ Aussi mon coeur gémira sur Moab comme gémissent les flûtes ; oui, mon coeur soupire comme les flûtes sur les gens de Kir-Hérès ; car ce qu'ils avaient amassé est perdu.

KJV ³⁶ Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.

VULC ³⁶ Propterea cor meum ad Moab quasi tibiæ resonabit,

BAN ³⁷ Car toute tête est rasée et toute barbe coupée ; il y a sur toutes les mains des incisions et sur les reins des sacs.

KJV ³⁷ For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.

VULC ³⁷ Omne enim caput calvitium,
et omnis barba rasa erit :
in cunctis manibus colligatio,
et super omne dorsum cilicium :

BAN ³⁸ Sur tous les toits de Moab et sur ses places ce ne sont que lamentations ; car j'ai brisé Moab comme un vase dont on ne se soucie pas, dit l'Eternel.

KJV ³⁸ There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.

VULC ³⁸ super omnia tecta Moab, et in plateis ejus,
omnis planctus :
quoniam contrivi Moab
sicut vas inutile, ait Dominus.

WLC ³⁸ עַ֣ל כָּל־ גַּגּ֥וֹת מוֹאָ֛ב וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֖יהָ כֻּלֹּ֣ה מִסְפֵּ֑ד כִּֽי־ שָׁבַ֣רְתִּי אֶת־ מוֹאָ֗ב כִּכְלִ֛י אֵֽין־ חֵ֥פֶץ בּ֖וֹ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ³⁹ Comme il a été brisé ! Gémissez ! Comme il a tourné le dos, tout confus, Moab ; et comme Moab est devenu la risée et l'épouvante pour tous ses voisins !

KJV ³⁹ They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.

VULC ³⁹ Quomodo victa est, et ululaverunt ?
quomodo dejecit cervicem Moab, et confusus est ?
eritque Moab in derisum, et in exemplum omnibus in circuitu suo.

BAN ⁴⁰ Car ainsi parle l'Eternel : Voici, il plane comme l'aigle ; il étend ses ailes sur Moab.

KJV ⁴⁰ For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.

VULC ⁴⁰ Hæc dicit Dominus :
Ecce quasi aquila volabit,
et extendet alas suas ad Moab.

WLC ⁴⁰ כִּי־ כֹה֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֥ה כַנֶּ֖שֶׁר יִדְאֶ֑ה וּפָרַ֥שׂ כְּנָפָ֖יו אֶל־ מוֹאָֽב׃

BAN ⁴¹ Kérioth est prise, les forteresses sont emportées, et le coeur des guerriers de Moab est en ce jour comme le coeur d'une femme en travail.

KJV ⁴¹ Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

VULC ⁴¹ Capta est Carioth, et munitiones comprehensæ sunt :
et erit cor fortium Moab in die illa

BAN ⁴² Moab est exterminé, ce n'est plus un peuple, parce qu'il s'est grandi contre l'Eternel.

KJV ⁴² And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.

VULC ⁴² et cessabit Moab esse populus,
quoniam contra Dominum gloriatus est.

WLC ⁴² וְנִשְׁמַ֥ד מוֹאָ֖ב מֵעָ֑ם כִּ֥י עַל־ יְהוָ֖ה הִגְדִּֽיל׃

BAN ⁴³ Frayeur, fosse et filet sur toi, habitant de Moab ! dit l'Eternel.

KJV ⁴³ Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.

VULC ⁴³ Pavor, et fovea,
et laqueus super te,
o habitator Moab, dicit Dominus.

WLC ⁴³ פַּ֥חַד וָפַ֖חַת וָפָ֑ח עָלֶ֛יךָ יוֹשֵׁ֥ב מוֹאָ֖ב נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ⁴⁴ Celui qui fuit devant l'objet de sa frayeur tombera dans la fosse, et celui qui remontera de la fosse sera pris au filet ; car je ferai venir sur lui, sur Moab, l'année de leur visitation, dit l'Eternel.

KJV ⁴⁴ He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

BAN ⁴⁵ A l'ombre de Hesbon se sont arrêtés des fuyards à bout de force ; car un feu est sorti de Hesbon et une flamme du milieu de Sihon, et elle a dévoré les tempes de Moab et le crâne des fils du tumulte.

KJV ⁴⁵ They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.

VULC ⁴⁵ In umbra Hesebon steterunt de laqueo fugientes,
quia ignis egressus est de Hesebon,

BAN ⁴⁶ Malheur à toi, Moab ! Le peuple de Camos est perdu, car tes fils sont emmenés captifs et tes filles captives.

KJV ⁴⁶ Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.

VULC ⁴⁶ Væ tibi, Moab :
periisti, popule Chamos,
quia comprehensi sunt filii tui
et filiæ tuæ in captivitatem.

WLC ⁴⁶ אוֹי־ לְךָ֣ מוֹאָ֔ב אָבַ֖ד עַם־ כְּמ֑וֹשׁ כִּֽי־ לֻקְּח֤וּ בָנֶ֙יךָ֙ בַּשֶּׁ֔בִי וּבְנֹתֶ֖יךָ בַּשִּׁבְיָֽה׃

BAN ⁴⁷ Mais je ramènerai les captifs de Moab à la fin des jours, dit l'Eternel.

KJV ⁴⁷ Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
