KJV ¹⁴ How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?

DRB ¹⁵ Moab est dévasté, et ses villes montent [en fumée]*, et l'élite de ses jeunes gens descend à la tuerie, dit le Roi ; l'Éternel des armées est son nom.

KJV ¹⁵ Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

DRB ¹⁶ La calamité de Moab est près d'arriver, et son malheur se hâte beaucoup.

KJV ¹⁶ The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.

DRB ¹⁷ Lamentez-vous sur lui, vous tous qui êtes autour de lui ; et vous tous qui connaissez son nom, dites : Comment a été brisée la verge de force, le bâton de magnificence !

KJV ¹⁷ All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!

DRB ¹⁸ Descends de la gloire, et assieds-toi dans la soif*, habitante, fille de Dibon ! car le dévastateur de Moab est monté contre toi, il a détruit tes forteresses.

KJV ¹⁸ Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.

DRB ¹⁹ Tiens-toi sur le chemin, et veille, habitante d'Aroër ; interroge celui qui fuit et celle qui est échappée ; dis : Qu'est-il arrivé ?

KJV ¹⁹ O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?

DRB ²⁰ Moab est honteux, car il est brisé*. Hurlez et criez, annoncez dans Arnon que Moab est dévasté.

KJV ²⁰ Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,

DRB ²¹ Et le jugement est venu sur le pays du plateau, sur Holon, et sur Jahtsa, et sur Méphaath,

KJV ²¹ And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,

DRB ²² et sur Dibon, et sur Nébo, et sur Beth-Diblathaïm,

DRB ²³ et sur Kiriathaïm, et sur Beth-Gamul, et sur Beth-Méon,

DRB ²⁴ et sur Kerijoth, et sur Botsra, et sur toutes les villes du pays de Moab, éloignées et proches.

KJV ²⁴ And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.

DRB ²⁵ La corne de Moab est coupée, et son bras est cassé, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ²⁵ The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.

DRB ²⁶ Enivrez-le, car il s'est exalté contre l'Éternel ; et Moab se roulera dans son vomissement, et il sera, lui aussi, un objet de dérision.

KJV ²⁶ Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.

DRB ²⁷ Et Israël n'a-t-il pas été un objet de dérision pour toi ? A-t-il été pris parmi les voleurs ? Car chaque fois que tu as parlé de lui, tu as secoué [la tête].

KJV ²⁷ For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.

DRB ²⁸ Abandonnez les villes, et demeurez dans les rochers, habitants de Moab, et soyez comme une colombe qui fait son nid aux côtés de l'entrée d'une caverne.

KJV ²⁸ O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole's mouth.

DRB ²⁹ Nous avons entendu l'orgueil de Moab, le très hautain, son arrogance, et son orgueil, et sa fierté, et son cœur altier !

KJV ²⁹ We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.

DRB ³⁰ Je connais, dit l'Éternel, sa rage : ses vanteries ne sont que vanité, ils ne font pas ce [qu'ils disent].

KJV ³⁰ I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.

DRB ³¹ C'est pourquoi je hurlerai sur Moab ; au sujet de tout Moab je crierai ; on gémira sur les hommes de Kir-Hérès.

KJV ³¹ Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.

DRB ³² Plus que des pleurs de Jahzer, je pleurerai sur toi, ô vigne de Sibma ; tes sarments ont passé au delà de la mer, ils ont atteint jusqu'à la mer de Jahzer ; le dévastateur est tombé sur tes fruits d'été et sur ta vendange.

KJV ³² O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.

DRB ³³ Et la joie et l'allégresse ont disparu des champs fertiles, et du pays de Moab, et j'ai fait cesser le vin des cuves : on ne foulera plus avec des cris de joie, le cri de joie ne sera plus un cri de joie.

KJV ³³ And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

KJV ³⁴ From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.

DRB ³⁵ Et je ferai cesser en Moab, dit l'Éternel, celui qui offre sur le* haut lieu et qui brûle de l'encens à ses dieux.

KJV ³⁵ Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.

DRB ³⁶ C'est pourquoi mon cœur bruira sur Moab comme des flûtes, et mon cœur bruira comme des flûtes sur les hommes de Kir-Hérès, parce que les biens qu'ils avaient acquis ont péri.

KJV ³⁶ Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.

DRB ³⁷ Car toute tête sera chauve, et toute barbe sera coupée ; sur toutes les mains il y aura des incisions, et le sac sera sur les reins ;

KJV ³⁷ For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.

DRB ³⁸ sur tous les toits de Moab et dans ses places, tout est lamentation, car j'ai brisé Moab comme un vase auquel on ne prend pas plaisir, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ³⁸ There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.

DRB ³⁹ Ils hurleront*: Comment a-t-il été brisé ! Comment Moab a-t-il tourné le dos, [tout] honteux ! Et Moab sera un objet de dérision et d'effroi à tous ceux qui l'entourent.

KJV ³⁹ They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.

DRB ⁴⁰ Car ainsi dit l'Éternel : Voici, il volera comme un aigle, et il étendra ses ailes sur Moab.

KJV ⁴⁰ For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.

DRB ⁴¹ Kerijoth est prise* et on s'est emparé des lieux forts ; et le cœur des hommes forts de Moab sera en ce jour-là comme le cœur d'une femme en travail.

KJV ⁴¹ Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

DRB ⁴² Et Moab sera détruit de manière à n'être plus un peuple, car il s'est exalté contre l'Éternel.

KJV ⁴² And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.

DRB ⁴³ La frayeur, et la fosse, et le piège sont sur toi, habitant de Moab ! dit l'Éternel.

KJV ⁴³ Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.

DRB ⁴⁴ Celui qui s'enfuit à cause de la frayeur tombera dans la fosse ; et celui qui monte de la fosse sera pris dans le piège ; car je ferai venir sur lui, sur Moab, l'année de leur visitation, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ⁴⁴ He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

DRB ⁴⁵ À l'ombre de Hesbon se sont tenus ceux qui fuyaient devant la force* ; car un feu est sorti de Hesbon, et une flamme du milieu de Sihon, et elle a dévoré le coin de Moab et le sommet de la tête des fils du tumulte.

KJV ⁴⁵ They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.

DRB ⁴⁶ Malheur à toi, Moab ! le peuple de Kemosh est perdu ; car tes fils ont été pris captifs, et tes filles, captives.

KJV ⁴⁶ Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.

DRB ⁴⁷ Et je rétablirai les captifs de Moab à la fin des jours, dit l'Éternel. Jusqu'ici est le jugement de Moab.

KJV ⁴⁷ Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
