BCC ¹ Aux enfants d'Ammon. Ainsi parle Jéhovah : Israël n'a-t-il pas de fils ? N'a-t-il pas d'héritier ? Pourquoi Melchom a-t-il pris possession de Gad, et son peuple s'est-il installé dans ses villes ?

KJV ¹ Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

BCC ² C'est pourquoi voici que des jours viennent, dit Jéhovah, où je ferai retentir le cri de guerre contre Rabba des enfants d'Ammon ; elle deviendra un monceau de ruines, et ses filles seront livrées au feu, et Israël héritera de ceux qui ont hérité de lui.

KJV ² Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.

BCC ³ Lamente-toi, Hésébon, car Haï a été saccagée ! Poussez des cris, filles de Rabba, ceignez-vous de sacs, frappez-vous la poitrine ; errez le long des clôtures ; car Melchom s'en va en exil, et avec lui ses prêtres et ses chefs.

KJV ³ Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.

BCC ⁴ Pourquoi te glorifier de tes vallées ? Oui, elle est riche, ta vallée, fille rebelle, qui te confiais dans tes trésors, disant : qui oserait venir contre moi ?

KJV ⁴ Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?

BCC ⁵ Et moi, de tous les alentours je ferai venir sur toi la terreur, dit le Seigneur, Jéhovah des armées ; vous serez chassé chacun droit devant soi, et personne ne ralliera les fuyards. ‒

KJV ⁵ Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.

BCC ⁶ Mais après cela, je ramènerai les captifs des enfants d'Ammon, dit Jéhovah.

KJV ⁶ And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.
