KJV ² Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

LSG ² Oh ! si j'avais au désert une cabane de voyageurs, J'abandonnerais mon peuple, je m'en éloignerais ! Car ce sont tous des adultères, C'est une troupe de perfides.

WLC ² וַֽיַּדְרְכ֤וּ אֶת־ לְשׁוֹנָם֙ קַשְׁתָּ֣ם שֶׁ֔קֶר וְלֹ֥א לֶאֱמוּנָ֖ה גָּבְר֣וּ בָאָ֑רֶץ כִּי֩ מֵרָעָ֨ה אֶל־ רָעָ֧ה ׀ יָצָ֛אוּ וְאֹתִ֥י לֹֽא־ יָדָ֖עוּ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³ And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.

LSG ³ Ils ont la langue tendue comme un arc et lancent le mensonge ; Ce n'est pas par la vérité qu'ils sont puissants dans le pays ; Car ils vont de méchanceté en méchanceté, Et ils ne me connaissent pas, dit l'Éternel.

WLC ³ אִ֤ישׁ מֵרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ הִשָּׁמֵ֔רוּ וְעַל־ כָּל־ אָ֖ח אַל־ תִּבְטָ֑חוּ כִּ֤י כָל־ אָח֙ עָק֣וֹב יַעְקֹ֔ב וְכָל־ רֵ֖עַ רָכִ֥יל יַהֲלֹֽךְ׃

KJV ⁴ Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.

LSG ⁴ Que chacun se tienne en garde contre son ami, Et qu'on ne se fie à aucun de ses frères ; Car tout frère cherche à tromper, Et tout ami répand des calomnies.

WLC ⁴ וְאִ֤ישׁ בְּרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ יְהָתֵ֔לּוּ וֶאֱמֶ֖ת לֹ֣א יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ לִמְּד֧וּ לְשׁוֹנָ֛ם דַּבֶּר־ שֶׁ֖קֶר הַעֲוֵ֥ה נִלְאֽוּ׃

KJV ⁵ And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

LSG ⁵ Ils se jouent les uns des autres, Et ne disent point la vérité ; Ils exercent leur langue à mentir, Ils s'étudient à faire le mal.

WLC ⁵ שִׁבְתְּךָ֖ בְּת֣וֹךְ מִרְמָ֑ה בְּמִרְמָ֛ה מֵאֲנ֥וּ דַֽעַת־ אוֹתִ֖י נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ⁶ Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.

LSG ⁶ Ta demeure est au sein de la fausseté ; C'est par fausseté qu'ils refusent de me connaître, Dit l'Éternel.

WLC ⁶ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הִנְנִ֥י צוֹרְפָ֖ם וּבְחַנְתִּ֑ים כִּֽי־ אֵ֣יךְ אֶעֱשֶׂ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י בַּת־ עַמִּֽי׃

KJV ⁷ Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?

LSG ⁷ C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Voici je les sonderai, je les éprouverai. Car comment agir à l'égard de la fille de mon peuple ?

WLC ⁷ חֵ֥ץ לְשׁוֹנָ֖ם מִרְמָ֣ה דִבֵּ֑ר בְּפִ֗יו שָׁל֤וֹם אֶת־ רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ יְדַבֵּ֔ר וּבְקִרְבּ֖וֹ יָשִׂ֥ים אָרְבּֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁸ Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

LSG ⁸ Leur langue est un trait meurtrier, Ils ne disent que des mensonges ; De la bouche ils parlent de paix à leur prochain, Et au fond du coeur ils lui dressent des pièges.

WLC ⁸ הַעַל־ אֵ֥לֶּה לֹֽא־ אֶפְקָד־ בָּ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה אִ֚ם בְּג֣וֹי אֲשֶׁר־ כָּזֶ֔ה לֹ֥א תִתְנַקֵּ֖ם נַפְשִֽׁי׃
