KJV ² Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?

MAR ² Anciens, écoutez ceci, et vous, tous les habitants du pays, prêtez l'oreille. Est-il arrivé de votre temps, ou même du temps de vos pères, une chose comme celle-ci ?

KJV ³ Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

MAR ³ Faites-en le récit à vos enfants, et que vos enfants le fassent à leurs enfants, et leurs enfants à une autre génération.

KJV ⁴ That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.

MAR ⁴ La sauterelle a brouté les restes du hanneton, et le hurebec a brouté les restes de la sauterelle, et le vermisseau a brouté les restes du hurebec.

KJV ⁵ Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

MAR ⁵ Ivrognes, réveillez-vous, et pleurez ; et vous tous buveurs de vin hurlez à cause du vin nouveau, parce qu'il est retranché à votre bouche.

KJV ⁶ For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.

MAR ⁶ Car une nation puissante et innombrable est montée contre mon pays ; ses dents sont des dents de lion, et elle a les dents mâchelières d'un vieux lion.

KJV ⁷ He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.

MAR ⁷ Elle a réduit ma vigne en désert, et a ôté l'écorce de mes figuiers ; elle les a entièrement dépouillés, et les a abattus, leurs branches en sont devenues blanches.

KJV ⁸ Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.

MAR ⁸ Lamente-toi comme une jeune femme qui se serait ceinte d'un sac, à cause [de la mort] du mari de sa jeunesse.

KJV ⁹ The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.

MAR ⁹ Le gâteau et l'aspersion sont retranchés de la maison de l'Eternel, et les Sacrificateurs qui font le service de l'Eternel mènent deuil.

KJV ¹⁰ The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.

MAR ¹⁰ Les champs sont ravagés, la terre mène deuil parce que le froment est ravagé, que le vin doux est tari, et que l'huile manque.

KJV ¹¹ Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.

MAR ¹¹ Laboureurs soyez confus ; vignerons hurlez à cause du froment et de l'orge ; car la moisson des champs est périe.

KJV ¹² The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.

MAR ¹² Les vignes sont sans fruit, et les figuiers ont manqué ; les grenadiers, et les palmiers, les pommiers et tous les arbres des champs ont séché, c'est pourquoi la joie a cessé entre les hommes.

KJV ¹³ Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.

MAR ¹³ Sacrificateurs ceignez-vous, et lamentez ; vous qui faites le service de l'autel, hurlez, vous qui faites le service de mon Dieu entrez, passez la nuit vêtus de sacs, car il est défendu au gâteau et à l'aspersion d'entrer en la maison de votre Dieu.

KJV ¹⁴ Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,

MAR ¹⁴ Sanctifiez le jeûne, publiez l'assemblée solennelle, assemblez les anciens, et tous les habitants du pays en la maison de l'Eternel votre Dieu, et criez à l'Eternel ; [en disant] :

KJV ¹⁵ Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

MAR ¹⁵ Hélas, quelle journée ! car la journée de l'Eternel est proche, et elle viendra comme un dégât fait par le Tout-puissant.

KJV ¹⁶ Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?

MAR ¹⁶ Les vivres ne sont-ils pas retranchés de devant nos yeux ; et la joie et l'allégresse, de la maison de notre Dieu ?

KJV ¹⁷ The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.

MAR ¹⁷ Les grains sont pourris sous leurs mottes, les greniers sont désolés, c'en est fait des granges, parce que le froment a manqué.

KJV ¹⁸ How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.

MAR ¹⁸ Ô combien ont gémi les bêtes, et dans quelle peine ont été les troupeaux de boeufs, parce qu'ils n'ont point de pâturage ! Aussi les troupeaux de brebis sont désolés.

KJV ¹⁹ O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.

MAR ¹⁹ Eternel, je crierai à toi, car le feu a consumé les cabanes du désert, et la flamme a brûlé tous les arbres des champs.

KJV ²⁰ The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

MAR ²⁰ Même toutes les bêtes des champs crient à toi, parce que les cours des eaux sont taris, et que le feu a consumé les cabanes du désert.

KJV ¹ Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

MAR ¹ Sonnez du cor en Sion, et sonnez avec un retentissement bruyant en la montagne de ma sainteté ; que tous les habitants du pays tremblent ; car la journée de l'Eternel vient ; car elle est proche.

KJV ² A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

MAR ² Journée de ténèbres et d'obscurité ; journée de nuées et de brouillards. Comme l'aube du jour s'étend sur les montagnes, [ainsi s'étend] un peuple grand et puissant, auquel il n'[y a] point eu de semblable de tout temps, et après lequel il n'y en aura point [de semblable] dans la suite des siècles.

KJV ³ A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

MAR ³ Le feu dévore devant sa face, et derrière lui la flamme brûle ; le pays était avant sa venue comme le jardin d'Héden ; et après qu'il sera parti [il sera comme] un désert de désolation ; et même il n'y aura rien qui lui échappe.

KJV ⁴ The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.

MAR ⁴ C'est, à le voir, comme si on voyait des chevaux, et ils courront comme des gens de cheval ;

KJV ⁵ Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

MAR ⁵ Et ils sauteront menant un bruit semblable à celui des chariots sur les sommets des montagnes, et au bruit d'une flamme de feu, qui dévore du chaume ; et ils seront comme un peuple puissant rangé en bataille.

KJV ⁶ Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.

MAR ⁶ Les peuples trembleront en le voyant ; tous les visages en deviendront pâles et livides.

KJV ⁷ They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

MAR ⁷ Ils courront comme des gens vaillants, et monteront sur la muraille comme des gens de guerre ; ils marcheront chacun en son rang, et ne se détourneront point de leurs chemins.

KJV ⁸ Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.

MAR ⁸ L'un ne pressera point l'autre, mais chacun marchera dans son chemin, ils se jetteront au travers des épées, et ne seront point blessés.

KJV ⁹ They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

MAR ⁹ Ils iront çà et là par la ville, ils courront sur la muraille, ils monteront sur les maisons, ils entreront par les fenêtres comme le larron.

KJV ¹⁰ The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

MAR ¹⁰ La terre tremblera devant lui, les cieux seront ébranlés, le soleil et la lune seront obscurcis, et les étoiles retireront leur lueur.

KJV ¹¹ And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

MAR ¹¹ Aussi l'Eternel fera entendre sa voix devant son armée, parce que son camp sera très-grand ; car l'exécuteur de sa parole [sera] puissant ; certainement la journée de l'Eternel est grande et terrible ; et qui la pourra soutenir ?

KJV ¹² Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

MAR ¹² Maintenant donc aussi, dit l'Eternel, retournez-vous jusqu'à moi de tout votre coeur, avec jeûne, avec larmes, et lamentation.

KJV ¹³ And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

MAR ¹³ Et déchirez vos coeurs, et non pas vos vêtements, et retournez à l'Eternel votre Dieu ; car il est miséricordieux et pitoyable, tardif à colère, et abondant en miséricorde, et qui se repent d'avoir affligé.

KJV ¹⁴ Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?

MAR ¹⁴ Qui sait si l'Eternel votre Dieu ne viendra point à se repentir, et s'il ne laissera point après soi bénédiction, gâteau, et aspersion ?

KJV ¹⁵ Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

MAR ¹⁵ Sonnez du cor en Sion, sanctifiez le jeûne, publiez l'assemblée solennelle.

KJV ¹⁶ Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

MAR ¹⁶ Assemblez le peuple, sanctifiez la congrégation, amassez les anciens, assemblez les enfants, et ceux qui sucent les mamelles ; que le nouveau marié sorte de son cabinet, et la nouvelle mariée de sa chambre nuptiale.

KJV ¹⁷ Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

MAR ¹⁷ Que les Sacrificateurs qui font le service de l'Eternel pleurent entre le porche et l'autel, et qu'ils disent : Eternel, pardonne à ton peuple, et n'expose point ton héritage à l'opprobre, tellement que les nations en fassent le sujet de leurs railleries. Pourquoi dirait-on entre les peuples : Où est leur Dieu ?

KJV ¹⁸ Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.

MAR ¹⁸ Or l'Eternel a été jaloux de sa terre, et il a été ému de compassion envers son peuple.

KJV ¹⁹ Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:

MAR ¹⁹ Et l'Eternel a répondu et a dit à son peuple : Voici, je vous enverrai du froment, du bon vin, et de l'huile, et vous en serez rassasiés, et je ne vous exposerai plus à l'opprobre entre les nations.

KJV ²⁰ But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.

MAR ²⁰ J'éloignerai de vous [l'armée venue] du Septentrion, et je la pousserai en un pays sec et désolé ; la partie antérieure vers la mer Orientale ; et celle de derrière, vers la mer Occidentale ; sa puanteur montera, et son infection s'élèvera, après avoir fait de grandes choses.

KJV ²¹ Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.

MAR ²¹ Ne crains point, terre ; égaye-toi et te réjouis ; car l'Eternel a fait de grandes choses.

KJV ²² Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.

MAR ²² Ne craignez point, bêtes des champs, car les pâturages du désert ont poussé leur jet, et même les arbres ont pousse leur fruit ; le figuier et la vigne ont poussé avec vigueur.

KJV ²³ Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

MAR ²³ Et vous enfants de Sion égayez-vous, et vous réjouissez en l'Eternel votre Dieu ; car il vous a donné la pluie selon la justice, et même il a fait couler sur vous la pluie [de la première saison], et celle de la dernière, au premier mois.

KJV ²⁴ And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.

MAR ²⁴ Et les aires seront remplies de froment, et les cuves regorgeront de moût et d'huile.

KJV ²⁵ And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

MAR ²⁵ Ainsi je vous rendrai les [fruits des années] que la sauterelle, le hurebec, le vermisseau, et le hanneton, ma grande armée, que j'avais envoyée contre vous, avait broutés.

KJV ²⁶ And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

MAR ²⁶ Vous aurez donc abondamment de quoi manger et être rassasiés ; et vous louerez le nom de l'Eternel votre Dieu, qui vous aura fait des choses merveilleuses ; et mon peuple ne sera point confus à toujours.

KJV ²⁷ And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

MAR ²⁷ Et vous saurez que je suis au milieu d'Israël, et que je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu, et qu'il n'y en a point d'autre ; et mon peuple ne sera point confus à toujours.

KJV ²⁸ And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

MAR ²⁸ Et il arrivera après ces choses que je répandrai mon Esprit sur toute chair ; et vos fils et vos filles prophétiseront ; vos vieillards songeront des songes, et vos jeunes gens verront des visions.

KJV ²⁹ And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

MAR ²⁹ Et même en ces jours-là je répandrai mon Esprit sur les serviteurs et sur les servantes.

KJV ³⁰ And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

MAR ³⁰ Et je ferai des prodiges dans les cieux et sur la terre, du sang et du feu, et des colonnes de fumée.

KJV ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.

MAR ³¹ Le soleil sera changé en ténèbres et la lune en sang, avant que le jour grand et terrible de l'Eternel vienne.

KJV ³² And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

MAR ³² Et il arrivera que quiconque invoquera le Nom de l'Eternel sera sauvé ; car le salut sera en la montagne de Sion, et dans Jérusalem, comme l'Eternel a dit, et dans les résidus que l'Eternel aura appelés.
