   ¹ Et le lot échu à la tribu des fils de Juda, selon leurs familles, fut jusqu'à la frontière d'Édom, le désert de Tsin, vers le midi, à l'extrémité sud. ² Et leur frontière méridionale était depuis le bout de la mer Salée, depuis la pointe qui regarde vers le midi ; ³ et elle sortait vers le midi de la montée d'Akrabbim, et passait vers Tsin, et montait au midi de Kadès-Barnéa, et passait à Hetsron, et montait vers Addar, et tournait vers Karkaa, ⁴ et passait vers Atsmon, et sortait au torrent d'Égypte ; et la frontière aboutissait à la mer. Telle sera votre frontière au midi. ⁵ - Et la frontière orientale était la mer Salée jusqu'à l'extrémité du Jourdain. - Et la frontière, du côté du nord, était depuis la pointe de la mer qui est à l'extrémité du Jourdain ; ⁶ et la frontière montait vers Beth-Hogla, et passait vers le nord de Beth-Araba ; et la frontière montait vers la pierre de Bohan, fils de Ruben ; ⁷ et la frontière montait vers Debir, depuis la vallée d'Acor, et tournait contre le nord vers Guilgal, qui est vis-à-vis de la montée d'Adummim, laquelle est au midi du torrent ; et la frontière passait vers les eaux d'En-Shémesh, et aboutissait à En-Roguel ; ⁸ et la frontière montait la vallée de Ben-Hinnom*, vers le côté méridional de Jébus**, qui est Jérusalem ; et la frontière montait au sommet de la montagne qui est en face de la vallée de Hinnom, à l'occident, qui est à l'extrémité de la vallée des Rephaïm, au nord ; ⁹ et la frontière fut tracée depuis le sommet de la montagne jusqu'à la source des eaux de Nephtoah, et elle sortait vers les villes de la montagne d'Éphron ; et la frontière fut tracée par Baala, qui est Kiriath-Jéarim ; ¹⁰ et la frontière faisait un détour depuis Baala, vers l'occident, jusqu'à la montagne de Séhir ; et elle passait à côté de la montagne de Jéarim*, qui est Kesalon, vers le nord ; et elle descendait à Beth-Shémesh et passait par Thimna. ¹¹ Et la frontière sortait vers le côté d'Ékron, vers le nord ; et la frontière fut tracée vers Shicron ; et elle passait la montagne de Baala, et sortait vers Jabneël ; et la frontière aboutissait à la mer. ¹² - Et la frontière occidentale était la grande mer et [ses] côtes. Telle fut la frontière des fils de Juda, tout à l'entour, selon leurs familles.

   ¹ This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast. ² And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward: ³ And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa: ⁴ From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast. ⁵ And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan: ⁶ And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben: ⁷ And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel: ⁸ And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward: ⁹ And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim: ¹⁰ And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah: ¹¹ And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea. ¹² And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

   ¹ Igitur sors filiorum Judæ per cognationes suas ista fuit : a termino Edom, desertum Sin, contra meridiem, et usque ad extremam partem australis plagæ.
   ² Initium ejus a summitate maris salsissimi, et a lingua ejus, quæ respicit meridiem.
   ³ Egrediturque contra ascensum Scorpionis, et pertransit in Sina : ascenditque in Cadesbarne, et pervenit in Esron, ascendens ad Addar, et circuiens Carcaa,
   ⁴ atque inde pertransiens in Asemona, et perveniens ad torrentem Ægypti : eruntque termini ejus mare magnum. Hic erit finis meridianæ plagæ.
   ⁵ Ab oriente vero erit initium, mare salsissimum usque ad extrema Jordanis : et ea quæ respiciunt ad aquilonem, a lingua maris usque ad eumdem Jordanis fluvium.
   ⁶ Ascenditque terminus in Beth Hagla, et transit ab aquilone in Beth Araba, ascendens ad lapidem Boën filii Ruben :
   ⁷ et tendens usque ad terminos Debera de valle Achor, contra aquilonem respiciens Galgala, quæ est ex adverso ascensionis Adommim, ab australi parte torrentis : transitque aquas, quæ vocantur fons solis : et erunt exitus ejus ad fontem Rogel.
   ⁸ Ascenditque per convallem filii Ennom ex latere Jebusæi ad meridiem, hæc est Jerusalem : et inde se erigens ad verticem montis, qui est contra Geennom ad occidentem in summitate vallis Raphaim contra aquilonem :
   ⁹ pertransitque a vertice montis usque ad fontem aquæ Nephtoa : et pervenit usque ad vicos montis Ephron : inclinaturque in Baala, quæ est Cariathiarim, id est, urbs silvarum.
   ¹⁰ Et circuit de Baala contra occidentem, usque ad montem Seir : transitque juxta latus montis Jarim ad aquilonem in Cheslon : et descendit in Bethsames, transitque in Thamna.
   ¹¹ Et pervenit contra aquilonem partis Accaron ex latere : inclinaturque Sechrona, et transit montem Baala : pervenitque in Jebneel, et magni maris contra occidentem fine concluditur.
   ¹² Hi sunt termini filiorum Juda per circuitum in cognationibus suis.
