   ⁷ Et ils consacrèrent Kédès, en Galilée, dans la montagne de Nephthali, Sichem dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, Kirjath-Arba, qui est Hébron, dans la montagne de Juda. ⁸ Et de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient de Jéricho, ils établirent Bétser, dans le désert, dans, la plaine, ville de la tribu de Ruben, Ramoth en Galaad, ville de la tribu de Gad, et Golan en Basan, ville de la tribu de Manassé. ⁹ Ce furent là les villes assignées à tous les fils d'Israël et à l'étranger séjournant au milieu d'eux, afin que quiconque aurait tué quelqu'un par mégarde pût s'y enfuir et ne mourût point par la main du vengeur du sang, avant qu'il eût comparu devant l'assemblée.

   ⁷ And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah. ⁸ And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. ⁹ These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.
