BAN ¹ Et Josué se leva de bon matin, et tous les fils d'Israël partirent de Sittim et arrivèrent au Jourdain, et là, ils firent une halte avant de passer.

KJV ¹ And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.

VULC ¹ Igitur Josue de nocte consurgens movit castra : egredientesque de Setim, venerunt ad Jordanem ipse et omnes filii Israël, et morati sunt ibi tres dies.

BAN ² Et au bout de trois jours, les officiers passèrent par le milieu du camp

KJV ² And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;

VULC ² Quibus evolutis transierunt præcones per castrorum medium,

BAN ³ et donnèrent au peuple ces ordres : Lorsque vous verrez l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel votre Dieu, portée par les sacrificateurs lévitiques, vous partirez de ce lieu où vous campez et vous marcherez après elle.

KJV ³ And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.

VULC ³ et clamare cœperunt : Quando videritis arcam fœderis Domini Dei vestri, et sacerdotes stirpis Leviticæ portantes eam, vos quoque consurgite, et sequimini præcedentes :

BAN ⁴ Seulement, qu'il y ait entre vous et elle un espace d'environ deux mille coudées ; n'approchez pas d'elle, afin que vous voyiez bien le chemin par lequel vous irez, car vous n'avez passé par ce chemin ni hier, ni avant-hier.

KJV ⁴ Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.

VULC ⁴ sitque inter vos et arcam spatium cubitorum duum millium : ut procul videre possitis, et nosse per quam viam ingrediamini : quia prius non ambulastis per eam : et cavete ne appropinquetis ad arcam.

BAN ⁵ Et Josué dit au peuple : Sanctifiez-vous, car demain l'Eternel fera des prodiges au milieu de vous.

KJV ⁵ And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.

VULC ⁵ Dixitque Josue ad populum : Sanctificamini : cras enim faciet Dominus inter vos mirabilia.

BAN ⁶ Et Josué parla aux sacrificateurs, en disant : Prenez l'arche de l'alliance et passez devant le peuple. Et ils prirent l'arche de l'alliance et ils marchèrent devant le peuple.

KJV ⁶ And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.

VULC ⁶ Et ait ad sacerdotes : Tollite arcam fœderis, et præcedite populum. Qui jussa complentes, tulerunt, et ambulaverunt ante eos.
