KJV ⁶⁷ And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

KJV ⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

S21 ⁶⁸ «Béni soit le Seigneur, le Dieu d'Israël,
parce qu'il a visité et racheté son peuple.

KJV ⁶⁹ And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

S21 ⁶⁹ Il nous a donné un puissant Sauveur 
dans la famille de son serviteur David.

KJV ⁷⁰ As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

S21 ⁷⁰ C'est ce qu'il avait annoncé
par la bouche de ses saints prophètes des temps anciens:

KJV ⁷¹ That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

S21 ⁷¹ un Sauveur qui nous délivre de nos ennemis
et de la domination de tous ceux qui nous détestent!

KJV ⁷² To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

S21 ⁷² Ainsi, il manifeste sa bonté envers nos ancêtres
et se souvient de sa sainte alliance,

KJV ⁷³ The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

S21 ⁷³ conformément au serment qu'il avait fait à Abraham, notre ancêtre:

KJV ⁷⁴ That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

S21 ⁷⁴ il avait juré qu'après nous avoir délivrés de nos ennemis
il nous accorderait de le servir sans crainte,

KJV ⁷⁵ In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

S21 ⁷⁵ en marchant devant lui dans la sainteté et dans la justice
tous les jours de notre vie.

KJV ⁷⁶ And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;

S21 ⁷⁶
Et toi, petit enfant, tu seras appelé prophète du Très-Haut,
car tu marcheras sous le regard du Seigneur pour préparer ses chemins

KJV ⁷⁷ To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

S21 ⁷⁷ et pour donner à son peuple la connaissance du salut
par le pardon de ses péchés,

KJV ⁷⁸ Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

S21 ⁷⁸ à cause de la profonde bonté de notre Dieu.
Grâce à elle, le soleil levant nous a visités d'en haut

KJV ⁷⁹ To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

S21 ⁷⁹ pour éclairer ceux qui sont assis dans les ténèbres et dans l'ombre de la mort,
pour diriger nos pas sur le chemin de la paix.»

KJV ⁸⁰ And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

S21 ⁸⁰ L'enfant grandissait et se fortifiait en esprit. Il resta dans les déserts jusqu'au jour où il se présenta devant Israël.
