BAN ¹¹ Et il dit : Un homme avait deux fils ;

KJV ¹¹ And he said, A certain man had two sons:

BAN ¹² et le plus jeune dit à, leur père : Père, donne-moi la part du bien qui me doit échoir. Et il leur partagea son bien.

KJV ¹² And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

BAN ¹³ Et peu de jours après, le plus jeune fils, ayant tout amassé, partit pour un pays éloigné, et là il dissipa son bien en vivant dans la dissolution.

KJV ¹³ And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

BAN ¹⁴ Et quand il eut tout dépensé, il survint une grande famine en ce pays-là, et lui-même commença à être dans l'indigence.

KJV ¹⁴ And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

BAN ¹⁵ Et étant allé, il s'attacha à l'un des habitants de ce pays-là, qui l'envoya dans ses champs pour paître des pourceaux.

KJV ¹⁵ And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

BAN ¹⁶ Et il désirait se remplir le ventre des gousses que les pourceaux mangeaient, mais personne ne lui en donnait.

KJV ¹⁶ And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

BAN ¹⁷ Etant donc rentré en lui-même, il dit : Combien de mercenaires de mon père ont du pain en abondance, et moi ici je meurs de faim !

KJV ¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

BAN ¹⁸ Je me lèverai, j'irai vers mon père, et je lui dirai : Père, j'ai péché contre le ciel et devant toi !

KJV ¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

BAN ¹⁹ Je ne suis plus digne d'être appelé ton fils : traite-moi comme l'un de tes mercenaires.

KJV ¹⁹ And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

BAN ²⁰ Et s'étant levé, il vint vers son père. Et comme il était encore loin, son père le vit et fut ému de compassion, et il courut se jeter à son cou, et l'embrassa.

KJV ²⁰ And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

BAN ²¹ Mais le fils lui dit : Père, j'ai péché contre le ciel et devant toi ! Je ne suis plus digne d'être appelé ton fils.

KJV ²¹ And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

BAN ²² Mais le père dit à ses serviteurs : Apportez une robe, la plus belle, et l'en revêtez, et mettez à sa main un anneau, et des souliers à ses pieds ;

KJV ²² But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

BAN ²³ et amenez le veau gras, tuez-le et mangeons et réjouissons-nous ;

KJV ²³ And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

BAN ²⁴ parce que mon fils que voici était mort, et il est revenu à la vie ; il était perdu, et il est retrouvé. Et ils commencèrent à se réjouir.

KJV ²⁴ For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
