BAN ²⁶ Et ils abordèrent au pays des Gadaréniens, qui est vis-à-vis de la Galilée.

KJV ²⁶ And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

BAN ²⁷ Et quand il fut descendu à terre, il vint au-devant de lui un homme de la ville, qui avait des démons depuis longtemps, et il ne revêtait point d'habit et ne demeurait point dans une maison, mais dans les sépulcres.

KJV ²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

BAN ²⁸ Et voyant Jésus, il poussa un cri, se jeta à ses pieds et dit d'une voix forte : Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, Jésus, Fils du Dieu Très-Haut ? Je te prie, ne me tourmente point !

KJV ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

BAN ²⁹ En effet Jésus commandait à l'esprit impur de sortir de cet homme. Car il s'était saisi de lui depuis longtemps ; et il était gardé, lié de chaînes et les fers aux pieds, et il rompait ses liens et était emporté par le démon dans les déserts.

KJV ²⁹ (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

BAN ³⁰ Et Jésus l'interrogea, disant : Quel est ton nom ? Et il dit : Légion, parce que plusieurs démons étaient entrés en lui.

KJV ³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

BAN ³¹ Et ils le priaient de ne pas leur commander de s'en aller dans l'abîme.

KJV ³¹ And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

BAN ³² Or il y avait là un troupeau de nombreux pourceaux, qui paissaient sur la montagne ; et ils le prièrent qu'il leur permît d'entrer dans ces pourceaux. Et il le leur permit.

KJV ³² And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

BAN ³³ Et les démons étant sortis de cet homme, entrèrent dans les pourceaux, et le troupeau s'élança avec impétuosité en bas la pente dans le lac, et fut noyé.

KJV ³³ Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

BAN ³⁴ Et ceux qui le paissaient, voyant ce qui était arrivé, s'enfuirent et répandirent la nouvelle dans la ville et dans les campagnes.

KJV ³⁴ When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

BAN ³⁵ Et les gens sortirent pour voir ce qui s'était passé ; et ils vinrent vers Jésus et trouvèrent l'homme de qui les démons étaient sortis, assis aux pieds de Jésus, vêtu et dans son bon sens ; et ils furent saisis de frayeur.

KJV ³⁵ Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

BAN ³⁶ Or ceux qui avaient vu la chose, leur racontèrent comment le démoniaque avait été guéri.

KJV ³⁶ They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

BAN ³⁷ Et toute la multitude de la contrée des Gadaréniens le pria de s'éloigner d'eux ; car ils étaient saisis d'une grande crainte. Et lui, étant monté dans la barque, s'en retourna.

KJV ³⁷ Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

BAN ³⁸ Et l'homme duquel les démons étaient sortis, le priait de lui permettre d'être avec lui ; mais Jésus le renvoya, en disant :

KJV ³⁸ Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

BAN ³⁹ Retourne en ta maison et raconte quelles grandes choses Dieu t'a faites. Et il s'en alla, publiant par toute la ville quelles grandes choses Jésus lui avait faites.

KJV ³⁹ Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
